Ghost's backstory is genuinely the scariest part of the entire thing, not even their horror playthrough can truly top it.

That's just a kid who's getting slowly training of his life force, he has no guardians, it's terrifying!

If it weren't for everything, cbf would be a allegory and a good allegory for something.

I think Cardboard Friend is a genuinely scary horror concept when taken seriously and sometimes I get creeped out when I think too hard about Ghost/Gregory's backstory. Cause like?? A malicious creature that gains the trust of a helpless, desperate child who can't tell that they're clearly in danger?? IN COMPLETE ISOLATION?? THAT SHITS SCARYYY!!
