It’s been a good long while since Beth Greene wanted anything, but she’s still accustomed to getting her way. What’s Daryl supposed to do — tell her no?

Daryl’s lighter clicks on as soon as Beth hops up onto the stool next to him. He spares her a glance over the blazing cherry tip of his cigarette, but of course he doesn’t say a word so Beth goes first.

“Come here often?”

He huffs, short and a little raspy from all the smoking. It’s almost like a laugh — it is a laugh, coming from Daryl. Beth used to think he was annoyed with her when he made that sound, but a few times in she realized he actually thinks she’s sort of funny.

“Yeah, an’ what the hell’re you doin’ here?” he wants to know. “Fuck’s sake, Greene. ‘f I didn’t know y’, I’d kick your skinny ass right outta here. Look about twelve.”

“Do not,” she protests because, Lord, this is never gonna work if he thinks that. She needs him to think lots of other things about her, and looking like she’s twelve would ruin all of them. “I’m eighteen, first of all.”

His gaze flicks over her, but he can’t see much with her legs under the table. Still, he says, “Y’r short.”

“You always this much a sweet talker, Mr. Dixon?”

“You always sneak into bars y’ shouldn’ be in?” He reaches around her chair to tug at the end of her ponytail, before pulling back to ash his Marlboro in the little plastic tray by his elbow. “Fuckin’ brat.”

Now, this is the point, this is why she’d come here. Because Daryl talks to her same as he always did, and that makes her wanna do more than talk.

Things I Ship/Love in Fanfictions

Anything involving Red Riding Hood and the Wolf. I love this one in particular, and the author finished it, but it sooooooooooo needs a sequel. Maybe I'll write it myself 😂

Harry Potter and Luna Lovegood fics. They're so sweet together.

Bella paired with Carlisle, Emmett, and/or Jasper. Usually separately, but them all together is certainly interesting. And I like the pairings for various reasons.

Destiel soft fluffy fics. The show is angsty enough. I don't need that negativity in my fics. And tbh, id never want it to happen in canon. They'd fuck it up if they tried, and also itd just be uncomfortable for the actors. Some things are better left for fanfictions.

Jackie and Hyde fics. They were so good together, dear god they should have been end game!!

Seth Gecko and Kate Fuller in From Dusk Til Dawn, either the show or the movie. It literally doesn't matter lolol 😂 They'd be so awesome!!!

Jim Hawkins and Princess Melody! Boi, have I fallen into this crack ship lololololol

This one particular modern gay pairing Jack and the Beanstalk fic!!!! Holy shit, I loved it!!!

I SOMETIMES like reading stuff with Hercules and Aladdin, cause I can imagine them and Meg and Jasmine being in a poly relationship all with each other, and I think it'd be great!

For the really fucked up side of me, I like to read The Mummy fanfics, with Evie being paired with Imhotep. For the nice versions of that, I read stuff of her and Rick together, or sometimes her and Ardeth
