HOW TO GET RID OF THE SMELL OF SMOKE FROM YOUR HOME Unlike how you can light a candle after eating a can of tuna and the smell fades away, the smell of cigarette smoke can really smell up your home. The smoke actually sticks to your home interior like your walls and carpet making it extremely hard to remove. Here are my tried and true methods to remove that smoke smell so you can fully enjoy your home. First things first, get rid of any traces of smoke such as cigarette butts, ashtrays, etc. Let some fresh air in! Open up your windows and door to air out your home. Place a bowl of vinegar in the room overnight (it will absorb the scent of tobacco) Similar to tip #4, place charcoal in a bowl and let it sit for a day or two to absorb the smoke Consider renting a carpet cleaner, hiring a professional, or altogether tossing out the old carpet and replacing it.
