“Goodbye Hello” Episode 3 - The story of Fukuno & Danda [ENG Translations below]
Cast: Fukuno - Tamura Shin Danda - Usui Reina
I HAD TO SHARE TRANSLATIONS FOR THIS BECAUSE IT’S ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE CUTEST THING I’VE EVER SEEN AJSJDHSD MY HEART MELTED WHILE WATCHING THIS!!!!!
Fukuno: Tomorrow, I’ll be graduating.
Danda: Y’know, nothing’s ever changed about us! Not that there’s anything wrong with that, though. Fukuno: Then, do you wanna change something? Danda: Like what? Fukuno: Like instead of being my girlfriend, being my wife? Danda: ...eh?! Fukuno: Like instead of me being your boyfriend, being your husband? Danda: ........haa.. Fukuno: What’s “haa” supposed to mean! Does it mean “yes”? Does it mean “what”?*
Danda: Bye bye, my boyfriend. Nice to meet you, my future husband. Just joking~
*T/N Danda’s sigh “haa” in Japanese sounds similar to “hai!” meaning “yes!” and “haa?!” meaning “what?!”

[Brand New Sky] by team Bakumatsu with Tomoegata Naginata - lyrics & ENG translation
Hey guys! This particular song from ~Musubi no Hibiki, Hajimari no Ne~ is very special to me for several reasons, and I decided that I wanted to share a translation of the lyrics with everyone, because I’m really not sure I’ve ever heard another song with lyrics as inspirational as Brand New Sky. :”) Both romaji lyrics and eng translations can be found under the Read More, please enjoy!
[Romaji]
Brand new sky, Go to the space
So keep your head up, nando datte Chansu wa te ni dekiru hazu sa Taisetsuna koto wa shinjiru koto Sekai wa isshun de kawaru yo Oh yeah, Here we go yeah Genkai wa koko janai darou So keep your head up, koete ike Kinou no jibun ni Say bye-bye
Yume wo oeba ou hodo Kyori ga hanarete iku yo Minna to booru wo oikaketai Sore demo boku wa kyou mo Jibun wo shinjite Sora wo nagamete chikau yo
Brand new sky, Go to the space 1% (ichi paasento) demo arya dekinai wake janai Mada mada You can go way
So keep your head up, nando datte Chansu wa te ni dekiru hazu sa Taisetsuna koto wa shinjiru koto Sekai wa isshun de kawaru yo Oh yeah, Here we go yeah Genkai wa koko janai darou So keep your head up, koete ike Kinou no jibun ni Say bye-bye
Mujyuuryoku no sekai jya Chi ni ashi mo tsukanakute Atarimae ga tsuuyou shinai darou Sore demo hitotsu hitotsu Dekiru koto kara hajimeru koto de wakatta
Brand new sky, Go for your dream Yume wa miru mono janaku, kanaeru mono darou? Saa mata You can go way
So keep your head up, saigo made Zenryoku de tanoshimi takute Kyoufusae mo wasuretetara Taisetsuna nakama ga dekita Oh yeah, Here we go yeah Onaji yume wo doko made mo So keep your head up, oikakeyou Asu e no kibou mo sou bai ni shite
So keep your head up, kuyashikute Shizunde shimau toki mo aru sa Tsugi takaku toberu tameni Kitto hitsuyou nandarou Oh yeah, Here we go yeah Genkai wa koko janai darou So keep your head up, koete ike Kinou no jibun ni Say bye-bye
[English]
Brand new sky, Go to the space
So keep your head up, no matter how many times you have to The chances you need are within your grasp What’s important is that you believe in yourself The whole world could change in just a second Oh yeah, here we go yeah After all, your limits aren’t here, you know So keep your head up, go beyond Say bye-bye to the you of yesterday
The more you chase after your dreams The more you’ll close the distance between where you are and where you want to be “I want to go out and play with everyone else” But even so, today, as always I’ll believe in myself I look up at the sky and make an oath
Brand new sky, Go to the space Just because you’re at 1% now doesn’t mean that you can’t do it Still, still, you can go way
So keep your head up, no matter how many times you have to The chances you need are within your grasp What’s important is that you believe in yourself The whole world could change in just a second Oh yeah, here we go yeah After all, your limits aren’t here, you know So keep your head up, go beyond Say bye-bye to the you of yesterday
It’s a world without gravity My feet can’t touch the ground Common sense and the things I’m used to don’t seem to apply here But even so, I’ll do one thing at a time From the things that I can do, I start to understand what it is that I need to do
Brand new sky, Go for your dream Dreams aren’t things to just be looked at, they’re things to make come true, aren’t they? Yes, still, you can go way
So keep your head up, until the very end Enjoy yourself with all your heart You’ll even forget your fears And you’ll make precious friends and comrades Oh yeah, here we go yeah Our dreams will stay the same no matter where we go So keep your head up, chase after them Double the hopes that you carry for tomorrow
So keep your head up, even if it hurts There will be times when you feel like you’re sinking But in order for you to fly to greater heights That’s exactly what you need, I’m sure Oh yeah, here we go yeah After all, your limits aren’t here, you know So keep your head up, go beyond Say bye-bye to the you of yesterday
Thank you for reading! ^o^ I did my best to convey the impact and meaning of the lyrics in English~ Hopefully this song can give as much encouragement to you as it does to me!!! ^^

shinta1024:
I’ve loved HeroAca for a while now; in July I went for the Jump Exhibition and got really excited when I walked through the gates of U.A. High School, I even took a photo with Deku. So when I got the news that I’d been cast in HeroSute, I was really happy!
Once again, I hope that you will give us your support!
And also, my physical condition* is recovering! #HeroSute
*After Shinken Ranbu Sai, Shin fell sick, and has been sick for the past few days. Really glad to hear that he’s starting to feel better!!

Boku no Hero Academia [The Ultra Stage] - cast comment from Tamura Shin playing Midoriya Izuku
This message is translated from the cast’s introductory messages/cast comments in this official post containing the cast of the upcoming Boku no Hero Academia stage play!!
Tumblr media
Tamura Shin - Midoriya Izuku
Nice to meet you! My name is Tamura Shin, and I will be playing Midoriya Izuku. I own every single volume of the Boku no Hero Academia manga, I watch the anime, I’ve seen the movies, and I play the game as well, so when I heard that I’d gotten the role I was really really happy. The other cast members and I are all looking forward to seeing how the world of HeroAca will be presented on stage as well. I do feel a sense of pressure from the fact that this is a stage play for an extremely popular piece of work, but I want to give all my effort to take the power, passion, and energy from the original work and bring it onto the stage so that the audience can enjoy the performance to the fullest. I hope that you will give us your support!
Thank you for reading!! I hope that you will be able to give Shin and all the other cast members your support!

Animage April 2018 - Arisawa Shoutarou & Tamura Shin
HELLO!!! After MONTHS of on-and-off translating this article between school work, I have finally finished translating the Arisawa Shoutarou & Tamura Shin interview from Animage April 2018!! The interview was done before Musubi no Hibiki, Hajimari no Ne, at a point in time when Shin still called Shoutarou “Arisawa-san” :’) Please enjoy!
The long-awaited Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki joins the battle!
Q: First of all, please share how you felt when you found out that the performance and cast had been decided.
Arisawa: This is my second time in a Toumyu production, and I’m really just so happy that I’m going to be able to stand on the stage as Izuminokami Kanesada again. And also, I’m really looking forward to this new team formation!
Tamura: This is my first time in a Toumyu production, but because I love Touken Ranbu Online and Toumyu so much, when I got the news that I’d passed the auditions, I got so emotional that I cried in the middle of the train I was in.
Q: Tamura-san, last year - in fact, about a year ago - you were a staff/crew member (in the directorial/production department) for Bakumatsu Tenrouden, weren’t you?
Tamura: That’s right. I did things like stand beneath the stairs on the stage and move them for scene changes.
Arisawa: He was with us throughout all 65 performances, all the way to the Shanghai performances. He even took care of our costumes and shoes after performances!
Tamura: While I was taking care of the shoes, Arisawa-san would often come over and strike up a conversation.
Arisawa: At that time I remember saying something like, “It’d be really nice if we got to act together, wouldn’t it?” but I never thought the chance would come so soon, much less in Toumyu itself!
Tamura: I’m really really happy.
Arisawa: Even as Izuminokami Kanesada, the one thing that I’d been thinking about the most was “Who’s going to play Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki?” Then it turned out to be you, Shin!
Tamura: I owe it to you!
Q: Are there any particular memories that left a lasting impression on you from Bakumatsu Tenrouden?
Arisawa: Once, during the rehearsals for the second part, the live segent, during Otokomichi, Shin and the other staff members in the production department stood in the stage wings and waved penlights around to get everyone excited! It reminded me all over again that the production was really something that everyone was working on together.
Tamura: Even though we were waving pale yellow penlights, Arisawa-san really paid attention to us! And something that I have a lasting memory of is the group huddle from before each performance. Before each performance, the Touken Danshi cast members would huddle up in order to raise their energy for the performance, and I got to watch that from nearby. As I moved the stairs, I thought, “Some day, I want to stand on that huge stage myself.” And I remember Arisawa-san telling me, “You’ll definitely have a chance!”
Arisawa: You know, we’re the same age. Why don’t you drop the honorifics?
Tamura: I’ll try to……! Everyone keeps teasing me, “Did you say Arisawa-san? (lol)” but it’s a habit that I still haven’t been able to get rid of.
Arisawa: It makes me look like I should be using honorifics too!
Tamura: No no, after all, it’s because I respect you!
Q: Hopefully by the time all the performances are over, you’ll have dropped the honorifics. (laugh) How was the photoshoot for the [MusuHaji] visuals?
Tamura: The staff’s attention to detail was incredible. It was my first time wearing traditional Japanese clothes, but I felt like my back was being straightened.
Arisawa: The sleeves are pretty long, aren’t they? They’re troublesome when you’re trying to move~!
Tamura: They are long……! The whole outfit is designed to be as lightweight as possible, but even so, you still have to put proper thought into how to make your actions and movements. Oh, and the shoes are comfortable!
Arisawa: The costumes and hair and makeup get better every performance too. In particular, the evolution of the wigs are especially amazing! For Izuminokami, there was a clear improvement in the consistency of how the side of his bangs that curl upwards look. At first, there was really this feeling of not being used to wearing my costume, but throughout the course of the performances, I found myself gradually getting more and more used to the costume and how to use it, and I noticed that the clothes seemed to suit me more.
Tamura: I know what you mean about feeling like you’re not used to wearing the costume!
Arisawa: Because the costumes are flashy, you’ll definitely end up feeling like that at first
Tamura: I wanna become a guy who suits his costume well as soon as possible.
The pair with deep connections are normally hard-headed towards each other!?
Q: Tamura-san, what kind of impression do you have of Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki?
Tamura: I feel that he’s bright, straightforward, and kind. However, the more I find out about and understand him, the more I’m starting to notice his sadness. He’s a sword, but his former master was one who believed, “The age of swords is coming to an end,” and used guns instead, but even so, he just talks about that cheerfully. There’s something sad about that, and it makes me feel like he has hidden strength that doesn’t show on the outside.
Q: As of right now, how are you thinking of going about creating your characterisation?
Tamura: I’ve been trying to find out more about the kind of world that Sakamoto Ryouma and Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki lived in, and I’ve been watching related works as well. Also, the dialect they speak in is very distinctive.
Arisawa: You know, when I first heard the news about the casting of Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki, I wondered whether Shin was from Kochi [formerly known as Tosa]. But as it turns out, he’s actually from Tokyo.
Tamura: Yep, I’m just a noisy Tokyo kid (laugh). At first, I found Tosa dialect really difficult to grasp, but after learning the grammar, I realised that there are certain ways it’s supposed to sound, and there are rules about how you’re supposed to speak it, then understanding it became a whole lot easier. I listen to Tosa dialect recordings and in-game voiced lines every day. In particular, works related to Ryouma tend to have a lot of Tosa dialect in them, so I’m definitely getting more used to it, but I’m still not confident that I can really speak the dialect properly. On top of that, I’m working hard to build my body and train up my muscles!
Q: Toumyu is a pretty hard performance, isn’t it?
Arisawa: IT’S REEALLY HARD~! When the other cast members saw the performance schedule this time around, there was this collective, “Yabai (Holy shit),” from everyone.
Tamura: I watched you guys [in BakuTen] from nearby, so I think I’m prepared, but I’m still pretty nervous.
Arisawa: No no, pushing the stairs is harder than this!
Tamura: No, performing on stage in front of everyone is more difficult!
Arisawa: No no no, pushing the stairs is definitely really challenging!
Q: Arisawa-san, over the course of all the performances you’ve been in, has your perception of Izuminokami Kanesada changed?
Arisawa: At the start, I had this really strong impression that “[He’s] The sword that belonged to Hijikata Toshizou”, so I watched Shinsengumi dramas, and went to visit places in Kyoto that are related to the Shinsengumi. That’s why Hijikata-san had a big influence on my characterisation of the role, but as I started playing the character, it began to change slightly. Izuminokami Kanesada is short-tempered, but he’s not as scary as Hijikata-san, who was called the “Demon Vice-Captain”. He holds affection for his friends, and that made me start to think that he’s actually kind and soft. His friends think of him as someone with a fiery personality, but conveying that is difficult, so he might sometimes come off as being short-tempered and rude.
Q: I see, and even though he’s cool, there’s a cute side to him too, isn’t there?
Arisawa: That’s right. I think there is something cute about him. Out of all the Touken Danshi, I think he’s the most up-to-date/modern.
Q: Izuminokami Kanesada and Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki aren’t exactly the best of friends, are they?
Arisawa: At the end of the day, their former masters did have entirely conflicting viewpoints. Sakamoto Ryouma wanted to create a new age [in Japan], and the Shinsengumi wanted to protect the Shogunate. And on top of that, Izuminokami Kanesada was the most advanced sword to exist at the end of the era of swords, whereas Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki carries with him a gun. I guess it can’t be helped that they get along like dogs and monkeys* (laugh). However, I do think that they share a bond as comrades living in the same citadel.
Tamura: There was conflict between their former masters, so I understand why they keep arguing with each other, but at the same time, they do understand each other’s feelings, and it makes me feel like, “Can the two of you just get along~!” (bitter smile)
Arisawa: But because the main focus of the story is the Touken Danshi, this could play out differently as compared to typical historical productions. I’m looking forward to finding out what kind of drama will be created.
Tamura: Arisawa-san is the same age as me, but as an actor he has far more experience, so I’m trying my hardest to learn as much from him as I can, and I think that we’ll be able to build a great relationship between Izuminokami Kanesada and Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki as well.
Arisawa: I don’t have THAT much more experience! Oh, and by the way, I had this dream where I grabbed Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki by the collar.
Tamura: We haven’t even gotten our scripts yet, that was fast! (laugh) The people around me have been joking, “Why don’t you try being more hard-headed towards Shoutarou in everyday situations?” But it’s not easy for me to do.
Arisawa: In terms of personality, Shin is by no means similar to Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki. The same can be said for me, I’m not that reckless or short-tempered myself. Ah, regardless of the fact that lately I’ve been thinking that Izuminokami Kanesada might have a soft side. Which is why, Shin, be more hard-headed towards me! Do your best, starting with everyday situations! (laugh)
Q: Singing rehearsals have already begun, haven’t they? I’m looking forward to the live part in the show’s second segment!
Arisawa: The songs are super cool. They’re cool songs that match the outfits for the second segment, so you might want to look forward to seeing the outfits as well. Shin, how are you at dancing?
Tamura: I’m doing my best……! This time round, as Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki, I want to give back to the audience the kind of fan service that Kane-san gave me.
Arisawa: A lot of audience members write things like “Please [Insert Request Here]” on their uchiwas, but what do you think they’ll write for Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki?
Tamura: Wouldn’t it be “Please shoot [finger guns at] me”?**
Arisawa: It’s got to be that!
Tamura: I want to shoot finger guns!
Arisawa: Izuminokami Kanesada gets ones that say “Please blind me”***, but even more than that, ones that say “So cool!” and I never know how to react to them (laugh). It’s different from saying, “Thank you,” so I end up getting embarrassed. Ah, Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki might get ones that say “Please show me your abs” too. Nagasone Kotetsu gets a lot of those.
Tamura: I’ll do my best to get good abs!
T/N: *like dogs and monkeys: essentially, like cats & dogs **the exact phrase here was「バンして」(ban shite) - referring to Mucchan’s ingame line, “Yo neratte... ban!” (Take aim and... bang!) and therefore quite literally actually meaning “please shoot me” LOL ***the exact phrase here was「目潰しして」(metsubushi shite) - referring to Kane-san’s ingame line, “Soora metsubushi da!” (I’ll blind you!)

Shin
[27 June 2018]
Good evening.
Today when I was at the station I saw someone walking around using their iPhone While the LED flashlight was still on...
“Aahh, it happens to other people too,” I thought. LOL Sometimes I forget to turn the flashlight off too.
I wanted to call out and tell them. I’ve been there before LOL
Today I went out to eat with Shin. Both of us are 22 years old and ate a lot. At points we were so busy eating that we forgot about talking to each other.
The food really piled up!! LOL
We talked a lot. All about what the two of us have been up to recently!
Tumblr media
Shoutarou, I’m gonna take a photo! Okay, say cheese! 5, 4, 3...
“Oi,” I said.
Why do you need the self-timer on when you’re using the front camera? LOL
It was fun. Let’s go again sometime!!
Well then, until tomorrow (*^^*)

Engeki Haikyuu!!
[23 Apr 2018]
Hello.
Today’s update is earlier than usual.
Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu!! “The Strongest Place” The performance information, as well as the full cast list, has been announced.
Ever since the first run of the performance in 2015, I’ve been playing the role of Aoba Jousai High School’s Kunimi Akira. For myself as an actor, it was my first real debut production, and it’s a production that I have so many intense feelings for.
In these two years, I got to see a truly amazing view together with everyone else in Haikyuu!!
I have so many feelings and memories, and from the bottom of my heart, I want to say that I’m truly so happy to have met the staff of Engeki Haikyuu!!, to have met the amazing friends I made in the cast, to have met everyone in Aoba Jousai, to have met the people who kindly give me their support and encouragement, and above all else, to have met Kunimi Akira.
Personally, I think that this audition changed my life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s honestly really saddening to let go of my role, in a production that I love from the bottom of my heart, but I’ll cover those feelings and I won’t let them show.
For the next Engeki Haikyuu!!, I’ll be a fan, giving my support from the audience’s seats. Inside my heart, I’ll be cheering louder than anyone else.
To everyone who has been a part of Engeki Haikyuu!! and who has raised me up to where I am now;
Really, truly, thank you so much.
And to everyone who has given me so much support and encouragement as Kunimi Akira; Thank you so much.
I’m Arisawa Shoutarou And I played Kunimi Akira.
T/N: Today, the cast of the next Haisute was announced, and Shoutarou will no longer be playing the role of Kunimi Akira. The role will be taken over by Kanda Masakazu (profile) (insta) Thank you so much, Shoutarou, for everything you’ve done in this production since the beginning. Thank you for being our Kunimi-chan. You were truly incredible.

Osaka Performances START
~Musical Touken Ranbu Official Fansite Cast Blog - Tamura Shin~ 10 Apr 2018
I’m Tamura Shin, who plays Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki!
~Musubi no Hibiki, Hajimari no Ne~ The Tokyo performances have ended, and the Osaka performances have begun!
I find that my heart still races from excitement before every performance. Nothing about that has changed.
Musical Touken Ranbu has long been one of my favourite productions, so every time a new musical was announced, I’d think, “So these are the Touken Danshi who will be dispatched on the next battle,” and look forward to it. Then a few months later, I’d be seated in the audience seats, waiting for the performance to begin, and I’d be so excited that I can’t stop my heart from racing.
But now, I’m acting in that production as a Touken Danshi, and I’m on the side that is delivering the production to the audience, and even now it sometimes feels so wondrous yet strange. At the same time, I feel a sense of responsibility. Together, that creates a good feeling of tension, with which I go forth to meet every performance.
Like that, the Osaka performances have begun.
With the advice that the people around me constantly give me, I’m able to face up to the role of Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki every day. It’s simply a form of learning.
I want to keep doing this right until the end, so that I can keep playing a better and better version of Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki each day.
That’s all for now!
