the live action (especially after leaving the usopp pirates out) managed to make usopp the most normal teenager out of the bunch. he tells dramatic stories, likes to gossip, has a big fat crush on a girl and will do anything to impress her, drinks sugary alcoholic cocktails. everyone else on the crew seems like they were developed in a lab and just allowed to go outside for the first time in comparison

I like that they took inspiration about outfits from color spreads and volume covers, even early concept.
