Trump thrives on chaos. He knows that the more chaos he and his MAGA allies create, the more pessimistic Americans feel about the capacities of our democratic institutions to govern the nation. It's all part of their plan to advance an authoritarian agenda where Trump serves as a strongman. Don’t fall for it.

The 14th Amendment was ratified on July 9, 1868, granting citizenship to anyone born or naturalized in the United States — including formerly enslaved Black people. This bill also provided all U.S. citizens with “equal protection under the laws,” marking a critical turning point in the fight for civil rights.
157 years later, the 14th Amendment is under attack. In January, President Trump issued an executive order to end birthright citizenship in the U.S. Activists and public officials fought back in at least 20 states, temporarily blocking the order.
But two weeks ago, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that lower federal courts do not have the power to block a nationwide order. This decision could put more than 150,000 people born in this country every year at risk of being denied their constitutional rights — including the right to vote.
The president should not get to take away rights the Constitution granted us over 100 years ago.
Join us in the fight to ensure every American can participate in our democracy. Get registered and ready to vote in this year’s local elections now at WhenWeAllVote.org.

This tweet was from a few years ago.
We fund what we fear. Racists fear a modern world. The establishment has to hold everyone back to give male whiteness a chance.
We are destroying all our post WWII progress and 1960s social awareness for idiot white men.

A federal court has again barred the Trump administration from moving forward with plans to undo the grant of birthright citizenship.
In a New Hampshire courtroom late Thursday morning, U.S. District Judge Joseph Normand Laplante, a George W. Bush appointee, issued a nationwide injunction from the bench prohibiting the enforcement of the executive order signed by President Donald Trump on Jan. 20.
The judge expressed unequivocal disdain for the effort to do away with the long-established constitutional right — an effort which has been serially frustrated by every district court yet to weigh in on it.
"The preliminary injunction is just not a close call to the court," Laplante intoned, according to a courtroom report by CNN. "The deprivation of U.S. citizenship and an abrupt change of policy that was longstanding … that's irreparable harm."

In a scathing social media post, Seth Abramson biographer of President Donald Trump, directly blamed Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk for the deaths of more than 50 Texans in recent catastrophic flooding—arguing their politically driven decisions led to avoidable tragedy.
“I have no difficulty saying that Trump and Musk caused some of the 50+ flood deaths in Texas,” Abramson wrote in a widely shared thread on the social platform X.
“And here's why: these two men with no expertise in disaster preparedness were told not to cut the positions they cut, and were told people would die if they did. And then people died," he said.

Visual proof that the MAGA & Trump's war on education isn't about DEI or discrimination. Why do you think they are pushing trade schools and factory jobs? They love the poorly educated.
this is why you will never catch me in the anti-college movement
white people need it to know things

Without scientist Kseniia Petrova’s expertise, no one can fully unlock the data’s potential, putting crucial advancements in early cancer detection at risk.
April 21, 2025, 2:34 PM MST / Updated April 22, 2025, 4:20 AM MST
By Jean Lee
A groundbreaking microscope at Harvard Medical School could lead to breakthroughs in cancer detection and research into longevity. But the scientist who developed computer scripts to read its images and unlock its full potential has been in an immigration detention center for two months — putting crucial scientific advancements at risk.
The scientist, the 30-year-old Russian-born Kseniia Petrova, worked at Harvard’s renowned Kirschner Lab until her arrest at a Boston airport in mid-February. She is now being held at ICE’s Richwood Correctional Center in Monroe, Louisiana, and fighting possible deportation to Russia, where she said she fears persecution and jail time over her protests against the war in Ukraine.
“I would call it a grinding machine,” Petrova, who spoke with NBC News from the Louisiana facility, said about being detained. “We are in this machine, and it doesn’t care if you have a visa, a green card, or any particular story. ... It just keeps going.”

Once everything becomes a "national emergency," there’s no bottom. While the United States has plenty of real problems to deal with, Trump is ignoring them to manufacture the fake emergencies he needs to further enlarge and centralize his power. America’s real national emergency is Donald J. Trump. Know the truth.

If we didn't laugh, we'd cry. But all jokes aside, this speaks to the level of incoherence and incompetence within the Trump regime. As I've said before, tariffs can be used as a tool to protect American industries. But tariffs on their own do not magically create more American jobs or lead to more U.S. production. The real reason Trump is unleashing tariffs on the globe is because he falsely believes they’ll bring so much money to the treasury that the U.S. will be able to afford another giant tax cut that will mostly benefit the rich. Those tax cuts will disproportionately benefit wealthy Americans and big corporations. But revenue raised from tariffs will be coming disproportionately from average working people. That's because tariffs are regressive — taking a larger portion out of the paychecks of regular Americans compared to the paychecks of the rich. This will result in a massive transfer of wealth to the very top. I want to make one other thing clear as well: Trump is not using tariffs as a tool to protect American workers. He doesn't actually care about them. What Trump cares about is being able to get concessions out of other countries and corporations that seek exemptions from the tariffs. It's all about his ability to hand out punishments and rewards. He's more of a mob boss than a president.

Trump apparently oblivious to political damage of his embrace of Russia
Rachel Maddow looks at how wildly unpopular Donald Trump’s attempt to flip America’s foreign affairs alignment with an embrace of Russia and weird false accusations against Ukraine is, with Republican politicians caught in awkward disagreement and voters broadly not on board.
