where the green grass grows
I know that I have missed trees and water since moving to the desert, but I never thought about my students’ relationship to these things until going on a field trip today. Upon driving through a community in Albuquerque with green manicured lawns and brightly painting houses my students began oohing and aahing like you would with fireworks. I guess this is what you do when your home territory is primarily brown.
