Springsteen & Phillips marriage ended in 1987 when an affair Springsteen was having on the Tunnel of Love tour with band member Patti Scialfa went public. Photos of the new couple together in France became a tabloid sensation and Phillips filed for divorce soon after. Springsteen has since commented “I didn’t protect Juli….I handled it badly.”
Scialfa became Springsteen’s second wife, they have been married for 25 years.
