thresher is out! and as expected we were all wrong and, far from being untrustworthy, Hercules is probably the most honest person on the Thresher team so far, save maybe Val.

which also means at high risk of death in a candela obscura system. i'm nervous for next week, y'all, not gonna lie. this is what i love about short runs and the candela system in particular -- the stakes are always high and any character can croak pretty much any time.

anyway, the more heroic tone post-launch called for a leyendecker-/robert mcginnis-style book cover take; though with the release of the official art I'll have to attempt a few others with longer hair.

So.

For some reason my beloved, first ever Tumblr account/blog that I've had since ca. 2012 - grexigone.tumblr.com - has been wrongfully terminated and no matter how many forms and emails I've sent, to this day nothing changes.

To say I'm devastated is an understatement. As I said above, I've had that blog since 2012. It's my happy place. I can delete other social media account but I will never delete my Tumblr. But alas, it's them who decided to delete it. For some effing reason that is beyond me.

Right now I am between sad and angry. Sad, because it's a loss no matter how unimportant it may seem; angry, because Tumblr's customer service has been very shit. They don't allow mentions on Twitter, no response on Thread and Bluesky, so I'm running out of option right now and it's frustrating.

All those memories, friends I've met in there, my posts, my photos...deleted without logical reason. And I'm still very active, so...why?

Anyways, I'm still holding up hope, and that's why I make this account. So hey @staff if you see this, please please please reinstate my account. Or just...reply my emails and forms.

HZD-HFW Map

Haven't touched this in a year. Some pins need re-colouring. And some are guestimate locations based on comparisons to named location plus Game maps and irl map.

Blue are Nora lands. Dark blue are Banuk. Red is Carja. Green is Utaru. Grey is Tenakth. Yellow is Burning Shores. Black is the Base.

Interesting to see that the Carja basically inhabit the entirety of Utah. And how the Tenakth have a pretty good chunk of Nevada and California all to themselves.

Additionally, Elisabet Sobeck's homestead is located in Nevada, which means technically Aloy's already been to the West prior to HFW.

BRIN !!!

OHmygod you have no idea how excited i got when i stumbled upon this Banuk wall painting, surrounded by machines drained of oil!!! I just stood there admiring my find!!

I had been hoping to see some evidence of this guy in HFW!!! He was one of the most intriguing characters in HZD and i wanted to see more of him, and i had almost forgotten he mentioned something about going to the Forbidden West.

He was HERE!! And i had also forgotten about the data point i'd found called "Machine Dreams" next to some Oseram corpses, which described someone who could only be Brin: Machine Dreams

Lance, you touched, entertained and intrigued millions with your unique voice, your particular diction and timbre that i've never heard anywhere else, and you were taken far too soon.

You left an indelible mark on so many stories, and a huge one on Horizon. You're irreplaceable and are missed by millions of fans around the world.
