Like normally when I play games I’m doing one of three things: trying to get the end of the game, messing around because the main gameplay loop is fun, or just replaying it cause I had fun the first time. For rain world, I don’t even know if there’s an end. Where to go if there is an end, or how to get to the end. I’m barely having fun with the main gameplay as it’s incredibly frustrating very frequently. And I haven’t played it before so I’m not replaying it. And yet, i keep coming back. I have other games that I have a lot more fun with but I keep playing rain world. Why

Should elaborate that despite it being pretty frustrating it still feels like you did something wrong, not the game. Most of my deaths have been due to me not paying attention to the rain timer, trying to fight lizards and vultures when I could just go around or distract them, or just me generally being bad. Although I’ve heard there’s a dynamic difficulty that makes it more difficult the more cycles you survive, which might also be contributing considering I’m on like cycle 80 and as far as I can tell, not very far into the game at all.
