Official concept art for TMNT 2007 Movie

The images were created for an alternate opening title sequence in the first TMNT feature. They were inspired by the layout of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics. The title sequence would have drifted over the pages, as the characters’ 3D silhouettes appeared in front of them. This concept was eventually abandoned for a more straightforward opening.

So thanks to this one tmnt post I'd come to the horrifying realization that the 2012 Turtles would be the age that I'll be.

They'd be 24.

First, I think you're giving the writers too much credit. To say that their final decision to consider Leo and Karai flirtation harmless is the moral compass just because they are (suppost to be) a well meaning, professional team of writers doesn't mean it actually is harmless and I defelly think is a terrible sign that they actually thought that wasn't a main issue. (Honestly it's just more evidence of how this show writing was flawed and lazy, but I digress.)

Second, for something to be considered incest you don't have to have two people that share same blood. The tabu of incest is also about a hierarchy and asymmetry between the people that share that relationship. What I am saying is: it doesn't matter if Karai and Leo are blood reladed. In the end, if their relanshionship thrived, they would still share the same father figure (Splinter) and that would had a major impact in their lives and definitely intervene with their dinamic.

I honestly liked Leo and Karai dinamic in the beginning of the show and I was also taken back when they decided to build the "lost Splinter daughter" plot, the best alternatve was for them to build a trusting and carrying bond as brother and sister, never as possible lovers.

When it comes to Leo and Karai, theere are two sides of the fandom. Those who ship with all their hearts, and those who hate with all their hearts.

But I’m here to settle this argumentative ship, once and for all...

Lets start with the common issue,

Leo and Karai is incest, so it’s wrong.

Hear me out. I get why you guys are arguing with this, but you shouldn’t be so black and white about it, it’s a little bit more complicated then that. First of all, I’m sure that the writers would definitely NOT have these two flirt and like each other after the big discovery if they were fully siblings, because it’s a freaking kids show. BUT i see why you guys are being defensive. Making the turtles calling Karai they’re sister could make anyone feel uncomfortable, but as far as I know, it was only Mikey doing that, and that makes sense for him because he would be exited about having anything remotely close to a sister. BUT throughout the series you can constantly see the other turtles referring to Karai as SPLINTERS DAUGHTER, NOT their sister. Which means that they see her as their sensei’s daughter, but not as their full sister. Family yes, but not fully sibling.

And it is seen constantly throughout the series that even after Leo finds out that she is Splinters daughter, he is still comfortable with flirting with her and showing her that he cares about her, and she with him. Examples of this are in vengeance is mine, broken foot, When worlds collide, and many others that I can’t all fit on this one post.

The writers wouldn’t do that is they knew it wasn’t ok. They are mature grown adults, they know what is right and what is wrong, so this is NOT a like and Leia situation, so PLEASE stop hating on this ship and give is some respect! Leo and Karai have been through so much, they both deserve to be happy, whether it’s with each other or someone else.

So if you need some incest tmnt ships to rage rant about, rant about TCEST.

This is actually a scene from my AU, when they met again, 6 years after their alliance to win the fight in the transatlantic. I imagine Raph would most likely pretend like he’s chill about it and it’s no big deal to see his childhood crush again (now a full grown, very intimidating, very sexy lizard-women) and Mona would LOVE the fact that she’s taller than him. Definitely tease him about it.

Anyway, hope you like it and maybe I'll do illustrations for the other prompts since I am officially in my college break, I won't promise though. And if you are new to the fandom and want to see the first version of Mona you can check the episode on youtube, it’s the TMNT 1980s Season 4 Episode 21 “Raphael Meets His Match”. It’s a little cheesy and some jokes don’t land for me but honestly it’s also really cute and endearing.

How each of the Turtles needs to be adjusted in future series:

Raph: Either keep bits of the Rise personality, or give solid reasoning for why he's always so angry.

Don: Love the chaotic theater kid take from Rise, that or the 2003 "kind and had the only braincell". Maybe combine the two?

Mikey: Ease back a bit in the party dude personality, and lean more towards him being the heart of the team.

Leo: A lot if things, but I'd mix bits from his snarky Rise incarnation and his calm spiritual 2003 version. Let him be a nerd, into anime and MMOs. Also, have him be the leader in the self declared sense (he wants to lead, he says he's the leader, everyone else just kinda humors him). Finally, have gin him constantly try to meet his siblings halfway on things, even if he doesn't really understand them.

Venus and Jennika: let at least one of them make an appearance.

Happy Halloween 

I’m super excited to be participating in this year’s TMNT Spooky Gift Exchange! 

We actually don't celebrate Halloween in Brazil, so I made a piece that caters to my only memory of the holiday: Watching Over the Garden Wall eating pop corn with my sister. This is absolutely the crossover that nobody asked for but I am super proud of it! I think Raph and Mikey look super cute dressed as Wirt and Greg. Hope you like it as well!
