Bad News: Our boss locked the keys inside the building.

Good News: We didn’t have to wait around for a locksmith.

Bad News: My boss finds it very concerning that I know how to pick locks, and tried to unlock my Tragic Backstory™. I was too embarrassed to admit that the reason I learned was because, at thirteen, I figured that was the kind of skill that would impress cute girls.

Good News: A cute girl saw me do it.

Bad News: It was Maggie, and since she’s already seen me fall out of several trees, cry because I saw a fawn that was just too damn small, and knows I can ride a unicycle, she’ll never think I’m cool no matter what I do. It’s too late. She knows.

These well-preserved fossils, recently excavated from sediment deposits in a lake in northeastern China, identified a butterfly-like insect that predates modern butterflies by about 40 million years. 

Although they appear to resemble butterflies and shared many of the same survival strategies with them (such as their main food source being nectar collected from flowers), this ancient insect species was actually the common ancestor that went on to evolve into modern-day fishflies, owlflies, and snakeflies.

My grandpa was in a gang called the “pretty boys” and they had leather jackets with “pretty boys” studded on the back. They didn’t even do anything they just stood around and looked pretty. My only sure goal in life is to keep this legacy alive

The thing that fascinates me about Asami is that she’s a good person. Her mother was brutally murdered. Her father is a bigot and terrorist. Her boyfriend cheats on her and lies to her. Her best friend/crush/girlfriend almost dies in front of her and then leaves for three years. Her father does die in front of her. She ticks every box on the villain backstory checklist, but she’s not. Even when that required giving up her father and her lifestyle. She’s the real deal. Don’t ever tell me good is boring.

The earth’s water supply is a closed system, so all our fresh water was dinosaur urine at one point. So you may have been forged in the heart of a star but you were filtered through the kidney of a dinosaur, which I for one, find beautiful
