of course queenie! you’ve got it, i actually haven’t met zhongli in the story yet (i am on the chapter though) but i’ll go from what i do know from him and childe at the moment! zhongli is under the cut. love you :o)

Childe

Your crush on him is incredibly obvious. Even he himself knows it at this point, but plays oblivious just for your sake (or you’d die of embarrassment and never show your face again, to be honest). But there is something that he can’t help when he’s around you - flirting with you shamelessly. Personally, for Childe, it’s absolutely hilarious that despite having a raging crush on him, you can’t seem to exactly take a hint either.

He’d slip in suggested comments, indulging in your red-faced self, he’d pull his face close against yours to whisper something into your ear, he’d give you affectionate actions… it’s all too much for you, and you spend so many nights wondering if Childe was actually interested in you or not. He seems to do this with everyone…

Eventually, you do become a lot more reserved and less responsive to his actions. There just doesn’t seem like a point in reacting to them if he does them to everyone, right? Childe does realize this immediately when you avert away from his eyes, a certain emotion he can’t seem to pinpoint down as you simply laugh and swat him away. It happens again when he tries to do it again, with you shying away from his touch and sighing.

“Is… is something the matter?” He’d ask, looking at you with an unusually worried expression. You look at him confused, feigning ignorance as he looks at you with (also rather unusually) intense eyes. “What do you mean, ‘is something the matter’? There’s nothing wrong with me!”

(He noticed the strain in your voice, and the smile that seemed forced.)

“Don’t lie to me now, you know you’re talking to one of the most dangerous man here, right?” His voice suddenly lowers, walking towards you with eyes that would make your knees drop if you weren’t trying to stand your ground right now. But you kept walking back as he moved forward towards your direction, with you eventually hitting your back against the wall.

The redness of your face was back, nervousness visible through the tension inside your throat. “Childe?” You asked, your voice barely cracking as you peered into his eyes. There it was, he thought to himself, there’s the chance he can finally-

“W… would you like to go with me to a restaurant around Liyue at some point? You can consider it a date,” the ginger-haired man said, still looking into your (now) shocked eyes upon his words. “I do fancy you quite a lot, if you haven’t noticed already.”

“F-for real?!” All you could do was stutter out, head in a craze as you tore your eyes away from his to look at anywhere else (you were too flustered to notice how nervous he seemed as well). But when you heard his laugh, you looked up to him again before he engulfed you into a hug, with you pressed against the crook of his neck.

“Yes, for real.”

Zhongli

It’s all spontaneous - he never really thinks about anything before he does anything, just like what he decided his name was gonna be. It just happened one day, and honestly it was a day that you both could never forget.

For once, he finally had Mora on him. Thank the heavens, for you felt like the skies were falling for once due to how miraculous this moment was. But also lucky for you, it wasn’t. Zhongli had wanted to treat you on a day out, taking you shopping around Liyue Harbor for the best goods around. While you initially protested against him paying for everything, he was ardent on letting him pay instead of you. You both finally acquiesced by you ending the day with paying for dinner at the end, and so you went ahead and started to shop together.

You went around for a shopping trip, with you picking up plenty of items you needed in general (you were about to run out of food and medicine anyways, you needed new utensils for your house, the list goes on). While you went ahead and picked out the items you needed, Zhongli was eagerly telling you little tidbits and facts about everything you were holding. You honestly found it endearing how he knew about everything in Liyue - you engaged with his conversations eagerly, both of you enlightening each other.

Zhongli doesn’t let you hold all the items you bought either. He carries all of them in his arms and hands, and you were a little bit miffed about it. Eventually he does let you carry some stuff because you were also buying quite a lot of stuff (your list has been a little bit overdue), but only the lightest ones. You sigh, but accept anyway. At least you’re holding some of it.

Throughout the day, Zhongli couldn’t help but how domestic you both were being. It made his heart strangely warm, and he kept finding himself staring at your lips constantly while you were talking with him. You did notice it at some point, but you did not think much of it and brushed it off - your first kiss should only be reserved for when you both were ready. But little did you know, Zhongli had been waiting for quite a long time now.

And when you finally finished shopping, you headed home for a quick minute to put all your newly bought items home and briefly brushed yourself down in the bathroom to look a little bit better (you were a little bit sweaty and disheveled from running around all day under the sun). Finally satisfied with how you look, you got out to a surprised Zhongli (who thought you looked absolutely gorgeous).

“Are you ready?” You smiled, preparing to hook arms with him towards the restaurant you both wanted to go today for dinner. However, you did not notice the gulp he made, and Zhongli twirled you around and pressed your foreheads together. And as you looked at him nervously, face suddenly ablaze, you muttered out: “I-Is everything alright?”

“You,” Zhongli breathed out to your confusion, “you are the problem.” And finally took your first kiss together.

Braiding Hair with Zhongli

The air was still and quite, the only sound was the quite shuffling of your bodies and the soft humming eminating from your throat.

"Are you sure you're okay with sitting on the floor?" You ask. "We could move you to a chair."

"Yes, but then you'd be standing," He retorted. "I'm perfectly fine right here, don't worry."

"If you say so," You chuckle. "I just don't want you to get a sore butt."

He gave a soft chuckle with you, "I'm sure my rear will be just fine, darling, I assure you."

You lean down and place a chaste peck on the side of his head before your fingers return to their threading of his hair. It was a slow night, one to surely bore even the most energetic of people, and your lover had given you permission to play with his hair while he read a book. The lantern in his room gave off a calm atmosphere and dare I say romantic as well.

Getting lost in your thoughts, your mind couldn't help but wander to a future together with the man. Your relationship with him was certainly one for the ages. And your wallet. A soft huff soon snapped you back into reality and you could help but laugh.

There Zhongli sat, his book laid flush with his lap and his fingers attempting to twist his bangs in the same manner as you air with the rest of his hair. Keyword; attempt.

"You having trouble there?" You teased.

"Certainly not," He answered. "I am simply idly passing time."

"Hmm," You hummed, a Cheshire smile upon your lips. "And would you like me to teach you how to properly pass time?"

"Well, how can I refuse when you're so adamant," He chuckled.

The rest of the night was spent teaching Zhongli how to properly braid hair, the hairstyles ranging from pretty to a tangled goblin. As you two were turning in, snuggling down into the covers, you couldn't help yourself to one last thing. Taling out his simple braid, you surfed your digits through his locks, scratching and massaging his scalp, eliciting quite the pleasure filled "Ooh~". You'll forever burn his cross-eyed face into your memory and you certainly won't let him live it down.
