My Theories

It will be revealed that Buck did have a crush on Eddie but has slowly developed an aversion to seeing a future with him, basically with him becoming Shannon 2.0 - someone who will always love Eddie, but cannot be his lover because Eddie's terrible to the people he loves and Buck genuinely worries he'll have to run like Shannon did.

Parallels between Karen and Tommy where their partner will always say their competition will never win, but will always feel like Eddie/the Blonde Hen cheated on her wife on will always be there to destroy what they worked so hard to build.

Athena and Buck are more less the main MAINS now that Bobby is gone and there will be more scenes with them that basically go "I am your stepson and the only link between us is now gone but we're each other's link to the person we lost so now we hate/cannot stop being around each other"

Not even a prediction I just need Chris to finally tell his Dad he keeps fucking up and avoiding change because I am 100% sure he's slowly realizing why his mom left Eddie

I think Eddie IS supposed to be shitty in Season 8, and it will be a focus on Eddie slowly regressing back into the rage that fueled his fight club arc. I think Chris and/or Buck deserve to harshly pull him back to reality, but it'd be really funny if it started with Tommy

As a shipper it'd be sooo juicy if Tommy, petty and bitchy as Eddie, was allowed to use his similarities with Eddie to actually get him to see something he ignores because Buck and Chris love him too much to see the scab that Eddie refuses to stop picking

Imagine telling someone who hasn't watched anything past Season 6 that Buck came out as Bi and proceeded to have an on and off relationship with a gay firefighter, and then during their off period hooked up with another firefighter from his own house, and later chose to date both of them...and Eddie Diaz was in texas while all this happened.

I don't think the writers is brave enough for this but, Bravi as a ship is so fucking delicious and it'd be so fucking funny if there is a Bucktommy triangle but instead of Eddie its RAVI. And it'd be especially be funny if the 911 Throuple was between those three just for the chaos it'd bring.

If Bucktommy becomes endgame, which IS a possibility until either one of them dies or gets marisol'd, you do know....that you can still ship buddie right?

Like, you don't need canon compliance to ship two characters together, because the way you ship them will never, EVER, align with canon by basis of being a ship that has not been made canon yet as I'm writing this. Even if in canon Buck's crush on Eddie is not reciprocated, you can still ship it, okay? Bucktommies kept going after episode 5 of this season, you can too!

Maybe basing your entire fandom life on how much canon vindicates you is a bad idea,

I refuse to believe the rumors are real because those two shacking up in eddie's goddamn house is too fucking funny, like, that's something I'D write if a Buddie shipper pissed me off on a bad day and I wanted to demolish an entire bridge.

i feel like Brad's existence would be better tolerated if the bucktommy break was actually written well, because that feels like the actual pivot for the fandom. Even the anti-tommy crowd seems to not like how it was handled because it was so botched that the possibility of the show backtracking is higher than if bucktommy had a more amicable breakup.

I just think it was just the crew really liking the actor, think of it like this - imagine if the crew got to cast one of those interchangeable MCU white guys, and this all makes sense in a showbiz type lens.

They want to have fun, but unfortunately nobody in this fandom has been having fun because the buddies have gone full johnlock ever since they found out how much they don't like gay men, and bucktommies stopped having fun when it was clear that the breakup wasn't getting the same care as the start of the relationship.

I think it was good that they at least had him there for Eddie because it was either brad or a random call that would've made him choose to leave for Texas, so they at least got him to do something relevant to the main cast.

Ultimately I just think he's a funny idea, I like the unhinged randos that only serve to vex and/or torment the main cast like Kim and Jonah. I also find it funny how many people here who ignored Brad's red flags because he had a man crush on Bobby immediately turned on him post bucktommy breakup
