I started the decade a twilight stan in the beginning stages of puberty and now I’m ending it still as twilight trash but this time I’m almost done with college and a bisexual mess who cries whenever I hear Bella’s lullaby

Don’t know what else to do
Guys - It’s been announced recently that the American Music Awards will be honoring me with the Artist of the Decade Award at this year’s ceremony. I’ve been planning to perform a medley of my hits throughout the decade on the show. Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun have now said that I’m not allowed to perform my old songs on television because they claim that would be re-recording my music before I’m allowed to next year. Additionally - and this isn’t the way I had planned on telling you this news - Netflix has created a documentary about my life for the past few years. Scott and Scooter have declined the use of my older music or performance footage for this project, even though there is no mention of either of them or Big Machine Records anywhere in the film.
Scott Borchetta told my team that they’ll allow me to use my music only if I do these things: If I agree to not re-record copycat versions of my songs next year (which is something I’m both legally allowed to do and looking forward to) and also told my team that I need to stop talking about him and Scooter Braun.
I feel very strongly that sharing what is happening to me could change the awareness level for other artists and potentially help them avoid a similar fate. The message being sent to me is very clear. Basically, be a good little girl and shut up. Or you’ll be punished.
This is WRONG. Neither of these men had a hand in the writing of those songs. They did nothing to create the relationship I have with my fans. So this is where I’m asking for your help.
Please let Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun know how you feel about this. Scooter also manages several artists who I really believe care about other artists and their work. Please ask them for help with this - I’m hoping that maybe they can talk some sense into the men who are exercising tyrannical control over someone who just wants to play the music she wrote. I’m especially asking for help from The Carlyle Group, who put up money for the sale of my music to these two men.
I just want to be able to perform MY OWN music. That’s it. I’ve tried to work this out privately through my team but have not been able to resolve anything. Right now my performance at the AMA’s, the Netflix documentary and any other recorded events I am planning to play until November of 2020 are a question mark.
I love you guys and I thought you should know what’s been going on.

When I was nine years old, my dad called me into the living room and said, “I want you to watch this.” He pointed to the TV that had a young blonde girl holding a guitar on it. She was walking through the crowd singing a song about the singer Tim McGraw. I was in awe of her. She was so confident and beautiful. “Who is that?” I asked. My dad replied, “Her name is Taylor Swift. I think she’s going to be big.”
When I was eleven years old, my mom picked me up from school and told me she won tickets to see that singer Taylor Swift play Good Morning for her album release party. She handed me a copy of Taylor’s self titled album and we listened to it. As I read through the album booklet and found that all of the songs were written by Taylor, some even all by herself, I was floored. Until then, I didn’t know that people could do that. Write and sing their own material. I memorized almost every song that night. The next morning, we got up early and headed into New York City. As we pulled up to the building, Taylor was inside singing “Change.” I will never forget seeing her hit that high note for the first time.
The Good Morning America show was incredible. Taylor sang her brand new song “Love Story” and promoted her new album, “Fearless.” After she was done singing, her team went to escort her backstage but she insisted on going to meet the people who had come in to see her sing. I watched as she thanked every single person she possibly could. My mom grabbed my album booklet from the self titled album and pushed into the crowd forming around her. Taylor saw her and took the booklet, signed it and looked at tiny little me behind my mom and said “Thank you so much for buying my album! I hope you like the next one.” I wasn’t albe to get close enough to her to take a photo or really talk to her but that 20 second interaction turned me into a fan for life. For my 12th birthday, my parents drove me and my best friend @borrowedblueheartss to Connecticut to see the Fearless Tour and Taylor has been such an important part of our friendship since then.
I took every word from “Fearless” and welcomed it into my life. The saying “Fearless” is having fear but jumping anyways” became a saying that I hold close to me to this day. Through the bullying I endured as a child, to my heartbreaks as a teenager, to my severe depression and anxiety that I experienced in my early college years, Taylor’s words and lyrics have been there for me. “Speak Now” got me through middle school. “Red” got me through high school. “1989” comforted me through a tumultuous time my senior year. “Reputation” helped me heal from so many scars on my heart. “Lover” has been a celebration for me of how far I’ve come as a now graduate student despite almost dropping out of college my freshman year.
Taylor will never know how much she impacted my life but I am so beyond grateful for her and her words. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without her.

why would you say this to me? I’m not in the mood to be attacked
Honestly I think she performed False God last night (one because the live instruments work well with it) because she’s gonna cut it from the set list
