I decided I am just going to ambush my boyfriend into marrying me. I'm just gonna start planning the wedding and then I will send him an invitation and he can come if he wants.

Hello :)

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to everyone! I hope everyone is lucky enough to be able to spend some quality time with the family over some delicious food today! Same goes for those of you who don't have thanksgiving this weekend. I for one am the luckiest of all because I have two thanksgiving food opportunities to attend, one dinner and one lunch...and hopefully lots of leftovers.....!!!
If anyone has a spare moment during their hectic food preparations or obligatory Sunday chillout time, could you watch a 1 minute video... I made it...and it's super low quality BUT it SUPER important :) I just launched my first ever kickstarter creative fundraising campaign (so nervous)...to raise some funds for a volunteer photography workshop for therapy, communication, advocacy and social change. I'm starting Nov.2....and need to raise some dollars to buy stuff for the workshop ( ex.cameras for participants, a projector) So far responses to the project have been...slow...humble beginnings hahaha.... so I'm reaching out to all my networks to help me make this happen!
The Campaign is here Pledges as high as $5 would be AMAZING... and just sharing the project with other potential sponsors who you think might be interested in supporting me would be a huge help too. I really really really want to have a chance to run a real workshop with the group I currently volunteer with ( mostly individuals who struggle with addiction and mental health issues ) - I wanna show up to our regular "photo class" with new equipment and a list of names of sponsors who made it happen, and say "look how many people care!!!" "Look how many people want to hear your voice!" "Look at the resources we have now...I can't wait to show you what's in store next....!"
Seriously though, that sounds lame... but it would be so rewarding for them to see that other people are investing in them, not just me...but lots! It might even inspire them to invest in themselves as bit more.....
If I run this workshop with wondrous success I'll also finally have the experience behind me to run more volunteer projects like it. It's so hard to get started because everyone wants to hear about the projects you've completed and their impacts on the people you've worked with...I just don't have that yet. When I do, I can finally use photography in a way that's truly significant to me..and I think really really significant to others. WHICH IS MY DREAM, MAN !!! HAHAH
So that's my little speech. Please help me out my network of awesome people!!! I really need your support with this.... THANK YOU <3

ca fait cinq mois
Tomorrow I leave for France, it's been five months since I've seen my love and I am unbearably excited. This is the Fourth time I've flown there and while I was packing I thought I'd make a packing hacks/packing tips post because I've learned A LOT in terms of how to do it right and light ;) I'll add to the list as I think of more!
Tips for Packing light/Saving Space:
• Roll everything instead of folding
• If you are packing shoes there is precious space inside them, fill those bad boys up with undies, or jewelry, or things that you don't want broken • If you are a lady, and going to a warm local, and physically this is an option, consider packing only unlined, unpadded bras.... they take literally no space • You can buy bars of soap that basically are everything in one bar..... shampoo, body wash, face wash, shaving cream I love this one • You know those annoying infomercials that talk about vacuum sealing for clothes to save space in your closet or for storage purposes.. well those things are amazing. Buy one, line your luggage with it, fill it up, vacuum out all the air and watch your clothes shrink to 20% of the size they were while snuggly taking the shape of your bag. Just make sure you have access to a vacuum at your destination cause you need to shrink it all back when you pack to come home
How to avoid loosing your luggage or how to improve your chances of getting it back if it does get lost :
• This is a tough one. Sometimes there's nothing you can do... but in any case first and foremost get a name tag for your bag. In fact get two hang one on the outside and stick one in the actual bag as well • Put a copy of your itinerary in your bag
• Buy a brightly colored bag or add something unique to it so you can identify it over the phone, or from afar in the hands of a thief
• Don't check your luggage, do only carry on. My new thing is to literally only check a small bag of necessary liquids while keeping all my clothes with my as carry on
• Never the leave an airport before making your report of lost luggage, do it immediately after you notice it missing
How to not feel like crap on a plane:
• 10 or more hours on a plane you are basically guaranteed to feel like crap but there are some things that help... • Yes I am the annoying person stretching in the aisles, seriously you will feel like a fool, but think about it if you sit for nine hours nothing in your body is circulating, it's really important to stretch if you can, I even manage to do it in the tiny bathrooms • Bring hand lotion, salt water nose spray, lipchap and your own water bottle. Recycled air = dehydration. I always need these things, every time without fail. I aint waiting for a flight attendant to bring me one glass of water every two hours, and I'm not spending 5 bucks on bottle water at the airport. Bring your own, empty, then once through security fill it up
• Tea is magical. Bring some tea bags of any variety, I bring calming ones like peppermint, chamomile, or ginger. Ask for hot water and BAM tea party on a plane. But for real tea hydrates and calms so it helps
• I also have gravol and Dr Bachs rescue remedy spray on hand incase I feel woozy
• Bring toothpaste and a tooth brush too, after 10 hours it's so nice to brush your teeth before your next flight
• Bring a good book, ipod, and for the love of god your own headphones
• Travel pillows are annoying to lug around but they totally make a difference
• I can't sleep in planes to save my life, so I try never to book anything over night
That's all I can think of for now but I know there are so much more! So i will add as I remember them. Ta ta for now, next time I write I'll be in Europe WHOOP! <3 <3
