there wasn't any missing the way the other's face changes and worry is written all over it but he doesn't say anything. there's nothing for him to say. he rids himself of his skates easily, quickly changing into more comfortable attire as he waits for declan to do the same. "it wouldn't hurt to bring it up and see where he is, decs, you know? keep up that communication. you guys work together from what i can see, so i have no doubt that you'd make good parents." marcus' eyes roll as he laughs and nods his head at his friend's words. "mhm, of course i love you most." waving his arm off, since he's alright now. any pain he was having prior having died down by now and he feels fine. his ears perk up slightly whenever declan mentions nik -- a usual reaction. "yeah, yeah. thank you for that, still. things with nik now are..better. still a work in progress but they're good."

the smile doesn't quite reach his eyes anymore - declan's more concerned about making sure that marcus is actually getting off the ice before he ends up hurt - its only recently that declan's even seen him able to get back on the ice. he shrugs as he follows marcus off the ice, "i mean, we haven't really talked about it, but like... i kinda want to. i've always wanted kids, right? like doesn't everyone? and like, regardless of our relationship, i think i would trust damien to be a dad. he'd be easy for me to parent with, i guess. he gets me." he grins and nods, "i know 'cause you already love me most." declan doesn't make it obvious, but he grabs marcus' arm as he sits down, helping him to the bench. he knows marcus will notice, but he loves marcus. needs him to be okay. "uh, yeah, i'm in the mood for sushi. you can treat me for giving you the best advice in the world about nik."

elijah could feel what he was doing to her, could feel and see the goosebumps rising on her skin and how her breath was already short because of what he was doing to her. they'd been playing this game for ages now, so elijah's learned how elena's body works pretty well at this point so he knows what she needs and wants before she says anything. "happily." his tone is deep and low when he speaks, eyes flicking up to her face for a moment. "that's my girl. that fucking attitude.." was all elijah managed to say before he spread the woman's legs even more, before immediately diving in and letting his tongue glide through her folds, finally tasting elena. she was so sweet, he could've died right then and there.

⸻ the vampire cursed as his teeth sank into her flesh. it sent dozens of little shock waves throughout her body. had she had a beating heart . . . no doubt the organ would have been pounding away at her chest cavity. ready to burst out and run as elijah did exactly as she had asked him to. a highly unlikely couple and that's what drove elena closer to him. was it for the pleasure or something more? she wasn't sure and she had little care for most things now that she was a vampire. her humanity switch always dangerously close to off more often than not. "then you should know exactly what i want," she breathed, her back arching up off the bed while he kissed along her skin now. he really did know how to drive her nuts. "come show me what you got ."

there was always a nagging thought in the back of his mind that he was too annoying for people to want to be around. that he was always too much for some, considering how many times he'd been told so before in his life. but bastian wasn't like that. he welcomed all of xander's quirks and oddities. never made him feel bad for simply just being himself, and in truth, that's one of the biggest reasons xander fell for him in the first place. xander was appreciative of the fact his fiancé constantly reminded him that he never had to change who he was around him. "they won't, bas. out of sight -- out of mind, right?" for xander, that was going to be easier said than done -- the nagging feeling he had in the back of his mind that he needed the man's parents to at least like him still there. he knew in time though, it wouldn't be. there's a half smile that forms on xander's lips. he could've kissed bastian, and nearly did, but he was so worried about impressing people that he turned his head the other way and kept to himself most of the night. "miss my clingy self no more, because he's right here and all for you." more laughter falls from his lips and rents the air surrounding them. no one made him happier than bastian and the fact he was getting to spend the rest of his life with him, made xander feel as if he were the luckiest man alive. wrapping his arms around the other's neck, he leans forward to rest his head against his fiancé's chest. "well, now i get to hang all over you and kiss you everywhere i can. but first, i want that dessert you promised."

it was a feeling that he didn't know how to describe - how settled he felt by how easily he was able to understand xander. he always seemed to know what to do, or maybe it was just that they always needed to the same thing. he didn't know, didn't understand it and would never pretend to. he didn't question it either, though. he had never questioned how he felt about xander. he had questioned if he should let himself act on his feelings for too long, almost getting to the point where he could feel that he was on the verge of losing him - which couldn't happen. now it felt only natural that they spend their lives together. for as much as he understood xander, he was just as understanding of bastian's quirks. "good. they aren't allowed to ruin any of our nights." bastian turns his head over his shoulder, leading xander into their home, and gives him a bright smile, "you could have kissed me, you know. i missed having you being your clingy self," he says it full of affection, distracted by wrapping his arms around his fiance's waist as he closes the door and locks it behind them, "it was torture for me to sit there and not have you hanging all over me."
