Welcome to Rayllum Mini-Month!

We are pleased to offer the fandom an alternative Rayllum Month event this July. Rayllum Mini-Month will feature 4 prompts—1 per week, with a suggested posting date of Wednesday each week. (Don’t worry—we’ll be reblogging all month, in case you fall behind 😉). Use #rayllum mini-month 2025 when you post your work…and check out the tag to see everyone’s fantastic fanworks!

Fanworks of any and all kinds are encouraged as a part of this event, including mature and explicit works. We anticipate fanfic, fanart, meta, edits, playlists...or anything else you can come up with! Please be sure—as always!—to appropriately tag your works with warnings for potentially triggering content so that everyone can choose what fanworks they want to engage with.

Our aim is to provide another space to celebrate Rayllum Month, not to discourage participation in any existing fandom events. Not so sure about creating something yourself? Cheer on participants with comments, reblogs, and support!

About the event

This is a fan event dedicated to Viren's relationships with other characters!

Any characters welcome: canon, characters from other media, OCs, self-inserts ➡️ If you want to go for TDP characters, you can spin the wheel and get a random one!

You can make each entry with a different character or dedicate all entries to one - up to you

All relationship types are welcome, whether it's romantic, platonic, familial or even adversary!

Any form of artistic expression is welcome! From visual arts and writing, to grafts and simple text posts. That's right - you are welcome to simply share your ideas, opinions or headcanons about Viren's relationships.

This event is old works friendly. If you've already created or written something that fits the event's theme - you are welcome to reblog it, repost it or share a link to it.

Content wise, you can create anything you want as long as you tag everything appropriately. Please use a separate tag, #Viren Month After Hours 2025, for anything younger members of our fandom shouldn't be exposed to.

I would also like to avoid Viren hate. This is, after all, an event for Viren fans.

Viren's Birthday Month 2025

April 11 is Viren's birthday so I invite you to a month-long event celebrating our favorite dark mage, from April 1 to April 30.

I would like to focus on Viren's relationships with other characters, be it platonic, familial, romantic or even adversary relationship. Any exploration of Viren's interaction with other characters is welcome!

How this works:

I shall define alternative ships as ships that include someone other than the characters existing in canon:

Canon character x original character (canon x OC)

Canon character x character from another medium (crossover ships)

Canon character x the shipper themself (selfships)

4.1 Canon x OC

There was a total of 39 OC x canon ships provided by the participants which I tried to categorize in various ways.

First, I checked which canon character is involved in most such ships and it turns out it's Soren!

My data pool is very small so this is in no way representative of our fandom. In a larger sample size, Aaravos could've easily won first place.

Here's a breakdown of the top most shipped characters:

We can see that elves are the most common OCs shipped with these characters, however, there seems to be even distribution among genders. We can only see a prevalence of men among the OCs shipper with Viren.

Please note that people who ship Zym with an OC, indicated that they shipped him as an adult.

We can see that there are 1.5 times as many elves as there are humans. Which the difference between cis men and women elves and humans is minuscule, it's interesting that there are no trans men or women elves and no human enbies.

Most people who has elven OCs also indicated what types of elves they are. Here's a breakdown of elves by types and gender

We see that Moonshadow elves are the most popular, followed by Startouch elves.

4.2 Crossover ships

There are a total of 17 entries for ships of TDP characters with characters from other media, with Aaravos being the most shipped of them all

7 people shipped him with someone in total, with the same characters being chosen by different people on a few occasions.

Here are the Aaravos and Viren ship breakdown

You can see that 3 people ship Aarvos with Lotor from Voltron: Legendary Defender and 2 people - with Loki from the MCU. Two people ship him with two different characters from the Elder Scrolls games.

When it comes to Viren, there are no repeated characters but there's a polyship with two characters from the Hades game.

We see that most characters people ship TDP characters with are male. Also, Lotor is shipped with 2 TDP characters by 4 people.

4.3 Selfships

There were a total of 69 entries, with most people self-shipping with Aaravos

Some people self shipped themselves with two characters at once

Here's a breakdown of the characters by species and gender

Elves are leading once again with male human and elven characters being shipped around 3 times more often than their female counterparts, while female dragon characters were shipped more than twice as often as the male ones.
