Calling all amateur drag queens!
If you are interested in competing for the title of Tumblr’s Next Drag Superstar, it’s your time to audition for your lives! Tumblr’s Drag Race is an online drag competition consisting of between twelve and fifteen competitors. Each week, the queens will compete in a Mini Challenge and a Main Challenge in a format similar to RuPaul’s Drag Race. One by one, queens will be eliminated from the competition until the final three are standing and a winner is chosen. Our goal is to give amateur drag queens a platform to practice their art, get exposure, receive constructive criticism from a panel of judges, and most importantly, have fun! This competition requires contestants to get into full drag at least once per week, sometimes more! Rules and regulations regarding contestant’s commitments can be found on the “Rules and Regulations” post on this blog. Your commitment is important, because winning surely does have its benefits. If you think you’re ready to snatch the crown, show us what you’ve got!
Audition Guidelines and Requirements:
o No professional drag queens (meaning consistently receiving regular, paid bookings for over a year)
o You must be at least 13 years of age (in compliance with the rules of Tumblr)
o This competition is open to all drag queens. Regardless of if you are an AFAB queen, camp queen, glamour queen, or an alien mannequin brought to life to destroy Christmas for everyone in the UK, all are welcome to show the judges what you’ve got!
In your audition, you will be required to:
1. State both your regular name and your drag name
2. State your current Tumblr URL
3. State your current age
4. Tell us where you live
5. Describe your personality with three interesting facts about yourself
6. Define your drag style in three words
7. Tell us what you hope to gain from TDR
8. Tell us why you should be chosen
9. Tell us what it would mean for you to win Tumblr’s Drag Race
~ Audition Requirements 1 through 9 should be cumulatively no longer than FOUR minutes. ~
10. Include a full, single-shot lipsync performance to a song of your choice
11. Include a 15 second runway walk
12. Show off your acting ability in 4-5 lines or from your favorite short monologue (think “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia” from “Designing Women”). Make it funny, serious, sad, whatever! Show us your acting chops!
13. Submit a face photo and full head-to-toe body photo to the blog alongside your audition tape. These photos will be used for the banner and cast photos if you are chosen. Upload these photos to a private album on Imgur.
Once you have finished making your video, you need to upload your audition to your personal YouTube account. In the privacy settings on your video, please make sure that the video is marked Unlisted. This ensures that nobody can see your audition tape unless a link is provided to them. Submit your YouTube and Imgur links to the Cycle 10 blog.
13. IN A SEPARATE VIDEO, tape yourself walking into the TDR “Workroom” (á la RuPaul’s Drag Race Episode 1). Pose, say your tagline, scream, whatever! Just like the show, you can voice over your entrance saying who you are, where you’re from, what your aesthetic is, etc.
Example: *Jasmine Masters walks into work room* I’M HERE! WE MADE IT BITCHES! *voiceover* My name is Jasmine Masters and I am 37 years old. DING! Jasmine is *forty snaps* it!

14. IN ANOTHER SEPARATE VIDEO, film yourself answering the following Meet The Queens questions:
How did you come up with your drag name?
What do you think is your very best feature or characteristic?

If you could be any animal which one would you prefer to be and why?
Whats your favourite colour?
How long have you been doing drag?
Do you have any hidden talents?
What are your short term and long term goals in drag?
What was your favorite challenge from a past cycle of TDR?
What sort of challenges are you excited for? Which are you nervous for?
What do you have that the other girls won’t?
If you could combine three people together to make up your drag character, who would they be?
A catchy tag line.

Calling Past Alumni!
Do you feel like your time on Tumblr’s Drag Race was cut just a little short? Do you feel like you have more to offer to the race? Do you think you have what it takes to secure a spot on Cycle 10 and prove that you are Tumblr’s Next Drag Superstar?
This cycle, we’re honoring at least one of our spots to a girl that was gone home too soon. A blast from the past, if you will. Can you prove to us that you’re a girl who’s willing to tuck it all behind and strap yourself in to snatch the crown?
Keep in mind, we will not be filling the alumni spot based solely on skill and talent. We are looking for someone who still has a lot of room to grow and will be able to get the most out of the judges’ critiques. Queens who we feel are overqualified will not be chosen to compete.
For any TDR alumni who is looking to re-audition for the race, we ask that you submit an audition video answering the following questions:
1. State both your regular name and your drag name
2. State your current Tumblr URL
3. State your current age
4. Tell us where you live
5. Describe your personality with three interesting facts about yourself
6. Define your drag style in three words
7. How have you improved since your previous run on Tumblrs Drag Race?
8. Tell us why you should be chosen to compete on TDR once again
9. Tell us what it would mean for you to win Tumblr’s Drag Race this time around
Along with your audition video, you are also required to submit a runway, a monologue, a lipsync performance, one face and one body photo to be used as your potential cast photos (uploaded as PRIVATE on Imgur), a workroom entrance video, and a meet the queens video. Details for each as well as submission directions can be found in the full audition text post.

Tumblr’s Drag Race Charm School 4!
Tumblr’s Drag Race Charm School Cycle 4 is an opportunity to learn the basics of drag and help grow beginning drag artists into a more confident queen and performer! In Charm School, we’re looking for queens who are devoted to improving as a drag artist but aren’t yet at level needed to compete on a cycle of Tumblr’s Drag Race. We’re looking for young queens with fresh faces who do not know the ins and outs of drag or necessarily have the skills a drag queen needs. During this six week crash course in drag, we’ll take a group of young baby queens from drab to fab and award the winner with a spot on Tumblr’s Drag Race Cycle 09!
Format:
Each week will consist of a lesson, a homework assignment, and a test in that drag discipline
Lessons: Lesson videos will be posted each week by the Dean (or Deans) for that week. These videos will be extensive and really show our girls how to work on their craft in that specific area. They’ll feature advice, knowledge, and examples of the discipline in action.
Homework Assignments: Homework will be assigned to accompany each lesson of that week. These will be smaller in scale than tests and let you try out your new skills in action for the first time since the lesson. Students will receive feedback on their homework.
Tests: Tests will be distributed following the homework assignment and feedback. This will be using the skills on a larger scale taking into consideration the Deans’ feedback for the homework. Each test will include elements from previous weeks’ lessons so that the girls can continue practicing skills.
Example: Please style a wig in what you believe is your drag character’s personal aesthetic and using skills learned the week before, please, do a personal style face.
Final Exam: The final week of charm school will be final exams week where the girls will receive a challenge that test all of their newly-learned skills.
There will be NO eliminations during TDR Charm School. Each girl deserves the same experience and we do not want this to turn into a mini version of Tumblr’s Drag Race. This is a place to grow and learn about drag and to gain new skills.
Scoring:
Rather than eliminations, each week the girls will receive a grade and critiques from the week’s deans and guidance counselor.
A - Shows strong improvement and demonstrates learned skills in the homework assignment and tests. Took feedback into consideration when working on assignments and showed drive and determination to better their drag.
B - Good improvement and demonstrates learned skills while still having trouble grasping the lessons taught. Took into consideration the deans’ feedback, but still struggles with demonstrating the skills.
C - Minimal improvement of learned skills and relaxed acknowledgement for deans’ feedback. Less committed to the idea of growth in their drag and lack of motivation.
F - Complete disregard of learned skills and continues to do things as if they had not been shown. Lack of commitment to the process and disinterest in learning.
Schedule:

Homework assignments will be due every Wednesday by 6pm EDT
Homework results will be posted every Wednesday at 9pm EDT
Test details will be posted every Wednesday by Midnight EDT
Test submissions will be due every Sunday by 9pm EDT

In order to enroll in TDRCS4, each prospective queen must submit a short video containing the following:
Drag Name
Age
Location
Why would you benefit from being a part of Charm School 4?
What are your goals in drag and what do you hope to gain from CS4?
What would it mean for you to win Charm School Cycle 4 and secure a spot on Cycle 10 of Tumblr���s Drag Race?
Auditions are due on July 7th at 6pm EDT

This cycle, we’re honouring one of our spots to a girl that was gone home too soon. A Blast of the past, if you will. Can you prove to us that you’re a girl who’s willing to tuck it all behind and strap yourself in to snatch the crown?
Keep in mind, we will not be filling the alumni spot based solely on skill and talent. We are looking for someone who still has a lot of room to grow and will be able to get the most out of the judges’ critiques. Queens who we feel are overqualified will not be chosen to compete.
For any TDR alumni who is looking to re-audition for the race, we ask that you submit an audition video answering the following questions:
1. State both your regular name and your drag name
2. State your current Tumblr URL
3. State your current age
4. Tell us where you live
5. Describe your personality with three interesting facts about yourself
6. Define your drag style in three words
7. How have you improved since your previous run on Tumblrs Drag Race?
8. Tell us why you should be chosen to compete on TDR once again
9. Tell us what it would mean for you to win Tumblr’s Drag Race this time around
Along with your audition video, you are also required to submit a runway, a monologue, a lipsync performance, one face and one body photo to be used as your potential cast photos, a workroom entrance video, and a meet the queens video. Calling all amateur drag queens!
If you are interested in competing for the title of Tumblr’s Next Drag Superstar, its your time to audition for your lives! Tumblr’s Drag Race is an online drag competition consisting of between twelve and fifteen competitors. Each week, the queens will compete in a Mini Challenge as well as a Main Challenge in a format similar to RuPaul’s Drag Race. One by one queens will be eliminated from the competition until the final three are standing and a winner is chosen. Our goal is to give amateur drag queens a platform to practice their art,get exposure, receive constructive criticism from a panel of judges, and most importantly, have fun! This competition requires contestants to get into drag at least once to twice a week! Rules and regulations regarding contestant’s commitments can be found on the “Rules and Regulations” post on this blog. Your commitment is important because winning surely does have its benefits. If you think you’re ready to snatch the crown, show us what you’ve got!
Audition Guidelines and Requirements:
o No professional drag queens (meaning consistently receiving regular, paid bookings for over a year)
o You must be at least 13 years of age (in compliance with the rules of Tumblr)
o This competition is open to all drag queens. Regardless of if you are a faux queen, camp queen, glamour queen, or an alien mannequin brought to life to destroy Christmas for everyone in the UK, all are welcome to show the judges what you’ve got!
In your audition, you will be required to:
1. State both your regular name and your drag name
2. State your current Tumblr URL
3. State your current age
4. Tell us where you live
5. Describe your personality with three interesting facts about yourself
6. Define your drag style in three words
7. Tell us why you should be chosen
8. Tell us what it would mean for you to win Tumblr’s Drag Race
~ Audition Requirements 1 through 8 should be cumulatively no longer than FOUR minutes. ~
9. Include a full, single-shot lipsync performance to a song of your choice
10. Include a 15 second runway walk
11. Show off your acting ability in 4-5 lines or from your favorite short monologue (think “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia” from “Designing Women”). Make it funny, serious, sad, whatever! Show us your acting chops!
12. Submit a face photo and full head-to-toe body photo to the blog alongside your audition tape. These photos will be used for the banner and cast photos if you are chosen.
Once you have finished making your video, you need to upload your audition to your personal YouTube account. In the privacy settings on your video, please make sure that the video is marked Unlisted. This ensures that nobody can see your audition tape unless a link is provided to them. Submit your video link to the Cycle 9 blog along with your two photos.
13. IN A SEPARATE VIDEO, tape yourself walking into the TDR Workroom (á la RuPaul’s Drag Race Episode 1). Pose, say your tagline, scream, whatever! Just like the show, you can voice over your entrance saying who you are, where you’re from, what your aesthetic is, etc.
Example: *Jasmine Masters walks into work room* I’M HERE! WE MADE IT BITCHES! *voiceover* My name is Jasmine Masters and I am 37 years old. DING! Jasmine is *forty snaps* it!

14. IN ANOTHER SEPARATE VIDEO, film yourself answering the following Meet The Queens questions:
How did you come up with your drag name?
What do you think is your very best feature or characteristic?
Who are your drag inspirations?
If you could identify with any one fashion collection from any designer and any year which one would it be?
If you could be any animal which one would you prefer to be and why?
Whats your favourite colour?
How long have you been doing drag?
Do you have any hidden talents?
What was your favorite challenge from a past cycle of TDR?
Who was your favorite contestant from a past cycle of TDR?
What sort of challenges are you excited/nervous for?
What do you have that the other girls won’t?
If you could combine three people together to make up your drag character, who would they be?
A catchy tag line.

Lastly, please do not upload your audition video to your own blog. We want it to be a surprise to the Tumblr’s Drag Race community and don’t want it to be leaked early. It is perfectly fine if you already have pictures on your blog that you plan on using for your cast photos, but please keep your intentions of using those photos private. Don’t spill the tea early, hunty!

Cyber is no TDR rookie, evolving ever since her time on the 2nd cycle as well as participating in All Stars 1 and Spin-Offs of TDR, such as What’s In Your Closet? From Grands Rapids, Michigan, she’s became a local success, utilizing her remarkable sewing skills and explosive creativity to battle it out through Grand Rapids Drag Race Season One, and the recent edition of Grand Rapids Drag Race: All Stars. Will you be able to bud and flourish like this TDR veteran?

Well, it’s an honour to be nominated, but it’s better to take home the A. Ward!
Your next judge and first rotating mentor this cycle is none other than Cycle 7 2nd Runner up and TDR All Stars 2 4th Place Toni A. Ward!
Toni A. Ward has also been on a long journey from reaching the top 3 in Cycle 7, judging in a mentor position in Cycle 8 and decimating challenge after challenge in TDR All Stars 2, to working alongside our Charm School Cycle 3 students as a Dean of Costuming. She also appeared on LSFYL season 4 and continues to slay with her looks in and out of drag! From Centreville, Virginia, the Broadest Broad on Broadway is back to help these ladies stick it in for the long haul, and please, don’t lay an egg!

Letha Lynn Jecktion made us chuckle, gasp and GAG in her performances on TDR, and even took to the water in her finale, making a memorable impression in the Snatch Game as Adele. She is from Fort Worth, Texas, and knows how to beat a face, as she became a Dean of Makeup in Charm School Cycle 3, slay a lipsync, appearing on Reddit’s LSFYL season 4 and placing 4th on the All Stars season, and making us laugh, destroying the competition when it came to putting on an entertaining show! Will you prove the same to her?
