Being a teacher doesn't only revolves around you and your students nor your relationship as a teacher to the parents and guardians. A teacher needs a good support group to be able to perform her task properly and accordingly. For my blog post today, i would like to share how lucky i am to be part of a faculty wherein everyone is helping each other rather than pulling each other down. Building a good relationship with your co-workers helps me find the positive attitude and mindset to start and move on on my daily task. I know sometimes it is hard to have a positive outlook when all through out the day, you've been facing different students and their attitudes. And glad that after a long day i can go back to our faculty room and find my sanity and sanctuary there. I have these teachers with me who never fails to listen and are always there to cheer me up. I'm so glad to have this group of teachers around

It was test day last Friday. I tried a new scheme in giving my k1 their test. Since they were only 10 in the class, I administered the test to them one by one. I find it easier and more helpful to my students if they were given the test like that. I can explain the instructions to them better and i can really see their knowledge and understanding about the subject matter. While someone is taking the test, i allow the others to play blocks and interact with their classmates. They were able to develop socio-emotional skills and fine motor skill while waiting for their turn. Now that's multi-tasking! 😄🤓😀

Displaying the works of the kid inside the classroom always bring joy to their faces. They love seeing their work and it gives them the sense of confidence and proudness because they know that their work was appreciated by their teacher. At the same, they are learning the sense of judgement as they give their comments about their classmates work.

Last week was one of the craziest week I ever had in my whole life. We had events almost everyday. And i have to give time for my studies as well. It seems that 24 hours is not enough to accomplish everything. I'm so exhausted that i'm already questioning myself if i'm really on the right track. Am I in the right profession?? Then suddenly I found the answers to my question today. When I saw my students up in the stages doing there best to give me their warmest greetings, I then remembered why i'm in this profession. It is so priceless to see them holding their cards and flowers. Don't get me wrong, it's not about the material things that matter but it's about the effort the children have been to. I mean they are not used to be in front of a big crowd, and yet they were there holding everything they had prepared for and showing their sweetest smile to everyone. Maybe that is the reason why we have Teacher's Day, to remind teachers that in spite of all the struggles and problems we encounter everyday, we are still the luckiest human being to be able to shape and touch the lives of our students. HAPPY WORLD TEACHER'S DAY!!!

Discovery through Senses Today during our art class, the class decided to get dirty. Everyone enjoyed doing the hand print activity. Children laughed and giggled as they take turn imprinting their hands in the piece of cloth. I love the fact that we were able to review a lot of concept during the task. And it made it more meaningful to the pupils as they learn through their different senses. They could feel the paint in their hands, they could see how their hands magically leave a part of it in the cloth. Children should always learn by using al their senses. It is not only enough that a teacher discusses the lesson by showing pictures or writing something on the board. Children should be engage with activities that will tickles their senses. Let's make our lesson more meaningful by letting the children's different senses participate in the discussion

Basically, my weekend is about making my pupils’ class report card. It’s a tedious job, from printing the report card, to writing individual anecdotal reports. However, it fills me with so much joy to look back and recall the small achievements done by my students. They maybe baby steps compared to others but these small steps will be the strong foundation for their holistic development. I can’t wait to share these achievements to the parents and guardians of my students.
