What to do if you suddenly find yourself homeless

FOOD

Find your nearest food bank or mission, for food

grocery stores with free samples, bakeries + stores with day-old bread

different fast food outlets have cheaper food and will generally let you hang out for a while.

some dollar stores carry food like cans of beans or fruit

SHELTER

Sleeping at beaches during the day is a good way to avoid suspicion and harassment

sleep with your bag strapped to you, so someone can’t steal it

Some churches offer short term residence

Find your nearest homeless shelter

Look for places that are open to the public

A large dumpster near a wall can often be moved so that flipping up the lids creates an angled shelter to stay dry

HYGIENE

A membership to the YMCA is usually only 10$, which has a shower, and sometimes laundry machines and lockers.

Public libraries have bathrooms you can use

Dollar stores carry low-end soaps and deodorant etc.

Wet wipes are all purpose and a life saver

Local beaches, go for a quick swim

Some truck stops have showers you can pay for

Staying clean is the best way to prevent disease, and potentially get a job to get back on your feet

Pack 7 pairs of socks/undies, 2 outfits, and one hooded rain jacket

OTHER

How I created my Himiko Toga cosplay props

The Tooth Scarf 

Started off by making a rough copy out of Poster board. 

Once the poster board fit nicely I used it as a template to cut out the good copy of the scarf. I used a thick piece of foam. Remember to cut the foam a little bit longer than the poster board since it is thicker and needs more material

Once that was done I connected it with every glue I could find. Super glue and Hot glue I found worked best.

Next I covered the whole thing in blue fabric and once again glued it on the inside ( may have been one of the most annoying parts to do) 

Afterwards I created templates for the teeth out of poster board 

I made my teeth out some kids modeling clay ( crayola model magic), wasn't too bad but don’t really recommend. Took a long time to dry and felt like rubber. The rest of the teeth (not the fangs) were made with a better modeling clay (Das)

The Teeth once dry were glued on to the scarf with super glue. (Sadly my videos won’t upload of when I put the teeth on ) 

The blood sucking machine 

Sadly I wont have as many photos of this part simply because I forgot but I will try to explain. 

For the bottles/needles I got 6 squeeze bottles from a dollar store and spray painted them with silver spray paint. Once dry I wrapped in green craft foam , glued 3 together on either side and drilled holes in the end of the needles. 

For the larger bottles they were made out of spray bottles which I also found at the dollar store. They were obviously painted green as well. I also put slits into the back of them where I threaded the belts through. 

 With the belt and scarf on measure the distance from the needles to the spray bottles with the tubing. Make sure to make them tubing slightly lose. 

Once cut put the tubing through the holes of the needles. Then use clay to make a new lid for the spray bottles. thread the tubing through the clay and put toothpicks in the tubing to make sure it doesn't come out. 

Next day I super glued the clay into place and painted it green to match better 

Mask 

I made this out of leather and the same tubing I made the blood sucker machine with. The tubing was spray painted black and then striped with white. 

Once completely dry I used a needle and thread ( fishing line really) to sew the tubing onto the mask. sadly I haven't found a glue that sticks nicely so for now the tubing is still a little lose.

Why did I not hear about the two canonically trans characters in BNHA until now!? I’ve heard so much about trans Kirishima (who isn’t canonically trans) but the fandom doesn’t even seem to want to spread the news of Magne being a trans woman and Tiger being a trans man.

So, please reblog this to spread the news!

Sidenote: I have no problem with trans headcanons, but when they get more attention than the actual trans characters, it kind of grinds my gears since characters in BNHA are usually 3-dimensional regardless of whether or not they’re a villain or side character. This means these trans characters have so much potential that people are ignoring!

Taiyang: She could’ve gone on a long and dangerous journey to Haven with the remainder of team JNPR to find answers and take down the criminals who made our lives miserable.

Taiyang: Or she could’ve gone out for froyo.

*He shows Yang the note*

Taiyang: This note she left is just scribbles. Could be anything, really.

So I just realized something, if this new team is RNJR ( Ranger: Ruby, Nora, Jaune, Ren ) then they’re missing a P and someone that’s blue to make it PRNJR ( Power Ranger ) O.O Think about it Ruby is Red Ranger, Nora is Pink Ranger, Jaune is Yellow ( sucks to be him ) and Ren is Green Ranger. WE’RE MISSING BLUE!!!

Yang: We're outside! There's a friendly crow and it's letting us feed it.

*Summer and Taiyang go out into their back garden to see Ruby and Yang feeding breadcrumbs to a ruffled feathered crow. They give the crow a knowing look and it caws at them*

Ruby: Can we keep it as a pet? Please!

*Taiyang and Summer smirk at each other*

Taiyang: Sure, but he's looking a little dirty, let's give it a bath.

*The crow flies off quickly with horror in its eyes*

Ruby and Yang: Awww daddy!

Summer: Don't worry sweethearts, he'll be back again.

*Qrow appears from around the house smiling at the four of them*

Season 1, Chapter 2​: The Shining Beacon Yang ditches Ruby, Weiss yells at Ruby before storming off, Blake slips away without introducing herself. Completely alone, Ruby is approached by Jaune, who helps her to her feet and befriends her.

Season 3, Chapter 12: The End of the Beginning ​Weiss is whisked away by her father, Blake vanishes, and Yang shuts Ruby out. Seemingly alone, Ruby steps out of her father’s house to continue her journey. Jaune is waiting for her.

RWBY theory: Yang is the Sun and Ruby is the Moon

If we’re continuing this trend with sun/moon analogies in canon and fandoms (Tokyo Ghoul, MLP:FiM, One Punch Man…Pokemon), I might as well point out how it applies to RWBY

Yang

Name literally means “little sun dragon”

Gets a lot of analogies to the sun in both her image songs (”I Burn” and “Gold”)

Associated with fire and the color yellow

Weapon is Ember Celica (ember=fire, coelica=heavenly, so it refers to the sun)

Ruby

Is shown at night when we first see her; her signature shot in the Red trailer is against the moon

Associated with wolves (because of the Red Riding Hood thing)

~Special Silver Eyes~

Weapon is Crescent Rose (do I have to explain this one?)

Finally:

Conclusion: Yang is the Sun to Ruby’s Moon (and vice versa)

RWBY Theory?

What if Raven’s the woman above Cinder?

Neo recognized her.

The reason why she saved Yang is because she’s her daughter, and the fact that saving Yang didn’t intervene with the train getting to Vale.

Also explains why Raven was on the train to begin with. 

Raven’s message to Yang was that she shouldn’t expect to be saved again.

Cinder’s connection to the Grimm + Raven’s mask.

Qrow called her dangerous. 

The portal Raven used is similar to Cinder’s “Phoenix Cry” symbol. 

The dream sequence after V2 suggested that Raven has an interest in Yang and Yang was a part of Cinder’s plan. 

Having someone we know as the big big bad would be more effective of a reveal than someone we’ve never seen before.

There is no way Taiyang is Ruby Rose’s father. They look nothing alike!

It's Also a Scythe

Remember those gears on Ozpin’s cane?

The only other place we’ve seen gears in a weapon like that is in the mechanism for Qrow’s scythe transformation. I wonder who could have taught Qrow that?

The cane also has a relatively thick handle, with a strange secondary handle that looks like it could rotate around the mechanism. The secondary handle works as a finger-guard when the cane is being used to parry blows and/or poke the crap out of someone, but that also suggests that if the finger-guard were to move and activate a transformation mechanism, it would probably need to rotate away from its current position, toward the cane end. Otherwise, any blow to the finger-guard, or a mishandled grip of the handle, would risk activating the mechanism.

Rotating the secondary handle downward also suggests that there’s a catch in the circular gear mechanism that would be released to activate the rest of the scythe transformation, and since the wielder would then be holding the cane end of the scythe, the scythe blade would need to be in the handle itself to prevent it from taking the wielder’s fingers off.

Let’s take a closer look at the main handle, then.

It’s an embellished silver cylinder, beveled on both ends, with a golden ring below and a narrower golden cylinder above.

It seems to me, though, with that ring at the bottom (following gravity) and the golden part at the top being flush with the silver part’s bevel, that the silver portion may actually be hollow, with the golden cylinder going inside the silver part and actually comprising the length of the handle. That is, it looks like the silver part may either be wrapped around, or be able to slide along, the handle.

Right now, the handle is too short for any real movement of the silver portion, but I think that’s where the now-activated gear mechanism comes into play.

I think the gears move a mechanism that pushes out the center shaft of the handle, allowing it to telescope outward a bit and revealing a thin scythe blade that is either collapsed into or wrapped around that part of the handle (possibly it’s the source of that bevel on the silver portion). Fully extended, I think the weapon would look something like this:

So, why is Ozpin’s cane “also a scythe” instead of “also a gun”? I think it’s because his cane is very, very old. Given that Ozpin has been around for an extremely long time, he probably made his weapon before Dust-based ammunition even existed.

As a lore bonus: Father Time is often depicted holding a scythe. In addition to the Wizard, it seems Ozpin parallels him quite a bit…

Ruby- the only witness to Pyrrha’s death other than Cinder- was passed out in a coma for a few days so imagine Jaune having to tell everyone that he fucked up and lost Pyrrha. Imagine him desperately asking Qrow if Pyrrha was in the tower when he went to save Ruby and Qrow only solemnly handing him back her headpiece, Miló’s shattered pieces and Akoúo̱ and saying “sorry.” He’s lost a teammate to war, too, he knows how he feels and tries to sympathize for a few, but he’s gotta get back to Ruby, Yang and Taiyang. Imagine Jaune desperately begging him to go back to the tower “IF YOU DIDN’T FIND A BODY SHE HAS TO BE ALIVE! SHE HAS TO BE!” Imagine Jaune clinging to this last shred of hope and going to the tower on his own, only to be chased out by Grimm too strong for him to beat. Imagine him trying everything in order to get to her, to see for himself that she’s gone, getting more and more desperate to the point that Ren and Nora have to drag him away from almost challenging a baby Goliath. Imagine him not believing she’s gone until Ruby finally wakes up. “Jaune, I… I’m sorry… I wasn’t fast enough to save her… I’m so sorry.” Imagine Jaune’s broken smile as he tells Ruby “it’s okay…” because he doesn’t want to take his anger out on her- he fully believes it was his own fault anyway. Imagine him having to tell Nora and Ren. “Guys, she… she’s gone…” Imagine Nora crying her eyes out and hugging him so tight. Pyrrha was one of her best friends, she was the sister she’d always wanted in the family she never got to have. And she was the biggest Arkos shipper out of all of us! Imagine Ren quietly holding them both, eyes wide and bright pink, unable to bring himself to speak- almost like he’s lost his voice. Imagine Jaune trying his hardest to be the “tough, macho leader that holds his remaining teammates together” for a few seconds before immediately breaking down in their arms. Imagine these three holding each other so tight, sobbing and wailing as they mourn the lost of one of their closest friends. Imagine him apologizing to the only pieces of Pyrrha he has left. Imagine him holding her headpiece so tight and desperately wishing it were warm again- it’s so cold with no one wearing it. Imagine him waking up at night in a cold sweat and tears falling down his cheeks. “I didn’t deserve that kiss… I couldn’t even save you.” Imagine him never understanding that Pyrrha shoved him into that locker to save him.
