Charity
What is it? Work for free? Not be paid? 30hours? How can I find? few examples of questions all the student had in mind at the beginning of the semester.
I will answer to all these questions in my article.
Tumblr media
What is it?
A charity is an organization set up to provide help and raise money for those in need. The shop can collect only clothes, books, furniture, or everything at the same time. Charity shops are something new for us as in France there is no shops like that. The only organization we know are “Emmaeus” or “La Croix Rouge française”, but there are not local shops. I chose to do my chartity in a book shop, as it was near from my home and I loveee to read! So, when you don’t know nothing about a subject, you feel you will never success. BUT it’s now our friend Google appears…
How to find a charity?
You just need to google “charity near me” and you will have a lot of shops. It’s a piece of cake! The best thing is to go there rather than fill a form online, trust me. In my personal experience, the shop manager took 3 weeks to reply to my mail, maybe he was overbooked by the books…
Work for free? not being paid?
The concept of these shops is to help the community by charities support. Charity is very common in the UK but in France it’s another story… People loves to help each other in this country. A woman, in my charity shop, is volunteer for 10 years approximately!!
 Why it’s a good experience?
First of all, it allows us to improve our English, and it was the goal of this semester in London! Then, for our personal satisfaction. It was only 30 hours, but it’s better than nothing. Helping the community it’s a value that everyone should learn, and this principle will be very usefull for our future job!
I think being volunteer in a charity shop is a win-win situation, you can help the community and at the same time you learn a lot about yourself, about life situations! I gave you few information and advices regarding the charity in the UK. It was a good experience for me, I hope it was the same for you!

My job experience in London
Sport is and has always been in my DNA. In fact, I’ve been a fitness coach for 4 years and intend to do it until my last breath. As I was progressing at work, getting experience, I figured another degree was needed in order to developed myself from Coach to Manager. Amos was to me, the right option to suit my expectations. I then happen to study in London for my second year of bachelor in sport business. What a great opportunity to do what I’m fond of abroad. We obviously had to look for a job to earn a living. I therefore applied for Personal Trainer at PureGym in Greenwich.
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: The beginning
I’ve had lots of expectations, hungry for knowledge and experience to work in London as a personal trainer. Of course the challenge was exciting but I couldn’t have expected the job to suit so much since day one. I got to teach classes, give personal training, and most importantly help people to reach their precious goals. What has surprised me most is how the manager had welcomed me to the team. Giving me confidence, pushing me because he believed I could be successful. I listened to every advice and looked at everything that he did, to inspire me in my future managerial career. I will try and do the best I can until the end of my London journey to make the most of it, whether it is at work and at school. Speaking of the devil, I will now talk about how coaching classes at school went.
Tumblr media
Chapter 2: Amos classes
Before moving to London we had to prepare our CV and cover letter. To me what had mattered most was the way you’d behave during an interview and talk. You could have had the best CV ever made, if you didn’t know how to present it, what a nice joke this’d have been. Coaching classes have helped us to firstly, build our confidence up, secondly, adjust and adapt our Cv in order to be fully capable of presenting it and last but not least, run fake interviews to test our capacities to talk and behave. Without these classes, I wouldn’t have the same confidence that I had applying for Coach at PureGym. I’ve been extremely fortunate to having had the right teacher and will be forever grateful.
Tumblr media
Chapter 3:  To continue…
In the days to come, I’m really pumped up about what’s going to happen next. Having a blast at both work and school. Doing what I love most on earth makes me feel unbreakable and I intend to share it as much as possible. If people are satisfied by my services and personal training, I’d be more than glad. It’s unbelievable how magic life can be, starting as a fitness coach in France to London nowadays.

ARRIVAL
CULTURAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE FRANCE AND THE UNITED KINGDOM
It’s actually my second months in London and during my first month I could see lot of different things between the English culture and the French culture.
Indeed the most popular facts between the French and the English are : you drive on the left in UK, you have not the same money, the buses are bigger than in France and also the different electrical plug. But there are more things which French people don’t know before to go in UK.
So we will see the different uncommon things between French and English.
Tumblr media
The first one which is maybe the more common is the fact during all your primary and secondary scolarité you have to wear a uniform at school.
Some people know that but in UK and in London particularly we are always filmed in the street and the public transport. Indeed, this is for the security of citizens.
The way to say “Hello” : in France you can handshake or kissing to say “hello” but in UK it is too familiar so English people just say hello orally.
When you go in UK and you use a computer, you will make mistakes with the keyboard. Indeed in UK, they use QWERTY keyboard, no AZERTY.
One of things which is the most strange for me was to rent a room, because in France you have to fill lot of form but in England you just have to sign the contract and pay a deposit.
The subway : too many things about the subway, in London you have the approximatively the same number of lines than in Paris but first, the subway is really clean and there is less lateness than in Paris. Furthermore, all people I the subway are very polite, I could see people MAKE THE QUEUE to wait the train !!! But to finish, the subway is smaller than subway in Paris.
In England the people are more open minded, indeed here nobody judge you on how you are dressed.
To finish, the company culture is different than in France, in UK you can work without hide your religion and the relationship between the boss and the salaried is more relaxed.
So I presented the different uncommon facts I could see during my different outing in London. But there are lot of others things which are not know !😃

Why these inequalities ?
There are many inequalities and discriminations in sport between women and men. There is not the same access to sports practice, or to the various sporting disciplines, their place in the high-level sport is also not the same. At the level of bureaucratization, they do not have the same responsibilities as men.
Access to sport
First of all, to talk about access to sport for women, beyond inequalities between women and men, regarding access to sport that is not the same, there are inequalities within women, who do not all have the same access to sport, according to their socio-professional category. Indeed, Women managers, having a good social position have better access to sport, compared to women workers, having had a shorter education. Three-quarters of women who do not engage in any sports activity are employed or working.
To compare with men, whatever their social position, they are more likely to practice a sporting activity. In theory, women can practice all sports. But in the fact this is not what happens in reality. There are very few women in sports considered as masculine like: rugby, combat sports, motor sports. Even if in recent years, it is changing, it remains a minority. To speak of all this in terms of numbers, women today represent one-third of the licensees, and less than 40% of top-level athletes.
Why this discriminations ?
At the very beginning of the history of sport, this practice was supposed to train men in the art of war and masculinity. Women were thus excluded from this sporting practice.
Since that time, it has evolved, and women now have their place in the sport. Nevertheless, there are still very strong inequalities. We can mention the fact that the professionalisation of sport is less present in women than in men. For example, rugby is not professional in women, unlike men. At the level of wages also. If we look more closely in a sport like football, where the difference is more than striking. Indeed, the best-paid footballer women is Ada Hegerberg, who earns between € 400,000 and € 500,000 a year, while in men, the highest paid footballer is Lionel Messi, who earns more than € 3 million a month. . The difference is therefore more than remarkable. If we can note these differences, there is a sport that has done everything to reduce these inequalities, and today is ahead of all other sports: Tennis. Indeed, nowadays, it is sport where men and women seem to be the most equal in every respect. On salary, media coverage, sports events. Everything is set up so that women are put in the same place as men. Thus, some sports should be inspired.
There are therefore inequalities in wages, but also at the level of position, and bureaucratization in the federations for example. In fact, most of the posts filled and occupied are by men.
What solutions ?
What solutions can we put in place to reduce these gender inequalities? There are several. For example, to stay in a sport such as rugby or football, it would be necessary for federations to have the same means for women as for men, to allow women's sport to evolve. Give the same infrastructure to allow women to have more ways to train, and thus develop women's sport. Finally, to allow a better mediatization, and to improve the visibility, it would be possible to program the sports meetings of the women before those of the men as this would allow to bring more spectators, and to make know more and more the feminine sport.
To conclude on this subject, we have been able to see that there are many inequalities between men and women in sport (salary, position, visibility, mediatization, professionalisation), but there are solutions that federations could put in place. place to offer women's sport a better attractiveness and thus reduce inequalities, which are in some ways the reflection of our society.

Gender in french Football
Today we will talk about gender and more specifically about inequalities between men and women. We know that the world of sport is a perfect reflection of gender inequalities, whether in terms of athletes' remuneration (picture), media coverage, sponsorship, etc. To deal with this subject, I have chosen to talk about two of my experiences in two professional French football clubs, which unfortunately bear witness to the presence of these inequalities.
Tumblr media
For 5 years, I had the chance to play football with the AS Saint-Etienne club from U15 to U19. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life but to join our subject of reflection, it is true that on several occasions I have witnessed gender discrimination. It should be noted that football is a rather macho sport in which men find it difficult to take seriously the role or presence of a woman in this world. During my national U17 season, we finished champions of our group and qualified for the play-off final. At the end of the season the president of the club paid us a big bonus to congratulate us on our season and the town hall of Saint-Etienne welcomed us. That same season, the club's women's U19 team won the French championships without receiving any bonuses and without an invitation to the mayor's office. The club photographer was also present on all male matches from the youth categories up to the first team, but the female teams were photographed three to four times a season.
Tumblr media
Last summer, I also did an internship with the French football club MHSC. I was the assistant to the club's communication and marketing manager and I was able to follow him in all his tasks. My mission was to organize events with the club's partners and all these events were based around the club's professional men's team (signing sessions...)(photos) while the women's team is among the top 10 in Europe and plays the Champions League every year. As another example, I also had to create the new MHSC photo book (photos) and only three pages out of about thirty relate to the women's team against about ten for the men's.
Tumblr media
To conclude, gender inequalities are omnipresent in our society, even more so in the world of sport, and reach their peak in the world of football. Women's football must be respected and developed because it is likely to bring great opportunities to the history of sport. All these inequalities must be eliminated, but they are mostly due to machismo or education from the earliest age, which sends girls to dance and boys to football. Turning morals upside down is a little embarrassing because it is 2019, but there are still many people who are closed-minded and afraid of change or difference.

TENNIS GENDER - Women have won parity
If tackling gender inequalities in sport has become a priority, one discipline could serve as an example: tennis. In the professional world of the little yellow ball, women have acquired a status similar to men. Salaries, media coverage, rewards …
Tennis is the first sport to introduce equal pay; it was at the US Open in 1973. Only three years after the practice of football was allowed for women. That year, Australian champion Margaret Court received the same $ 25,000 check as male tournament champion John Newcombe.
The "BATTLE OF THE SEXES",
In 1973, the American champion Billie Jean King fights for equal prizes money between men and women. At the time Bobby Riggs, former glory of tennis in the 1940s, claims the superiority of men's tennis on women's tennis. To prove his reasoning, he offers King to face him in a match, playing on the opposition between the sexes: the macho against the feminist. After the victory of King, the professional organization of women's tennis (the WTA), gains in authority until obtaining, from the US Open 1973, the equality of the prize money between the men and the women.
Tumblr media
The Tenniswomen Salary
Tenniswomen are among the highest paid sportswomen on the planet. In the "Top 100 best paid sportsmen in the world" .The previous year, the only two female representatives in this ranking were already from tennis: Serena Williams (then 40th with 28.9 million dollars) and Maria Sharapova ( 88th with $ 21.9 million).
Tumblr media
Channels fight to broadcast WTA
In 2014, the WTA and the British group Perform, which manages the rights to broadcast and distribution of women's tennis, renewed their contract, for a period of 10 years and for an amount of $ 525 million. A record for women's sport! This partnership called WTA Media allows, since 2017, the production of more than 2,000 singles matches per year and more than 2,600 hours of live coverage. It is thanks to the women's tennis which knows a great success with the public. In 2015, the WTA TV audience grew by 25% with 395 million viewers. A craze that pushes television channels to take an interest in the women's circuit.
Tennisman jealous of Tenniswomen!
Perhaps there is still a hurdle for women in the world of tennis: sexism.
Because the equality of prize money is not everyone's taste and when it comes to expressing arguments to justify giving more to a Rafael Nadal than Serena Williams for, the misogynistic remarks are never very far away.
"Statistics show that there are more spectators for male tennis games. I think that's one of the reasons we should earn more. - Novak Djokovic
Finally, in the middle, few players who enjoy playing a sport precursor to gender equality.
Andy Murray, the British champion known for his positions in favor of parity between men and women, wanted to defend women's tennis. "I feel like I'm the only one fighting for the Tenniswomen. I do not understand why tennismen are not proud of practicing a sport where the salaries between men and women are roughly equivalent, "lamented the Scotsman, the first player of the top elite of the ATP to have been trained by a woman, Amélie Mauresmo, from 2014 to 2016.
However advertising sponsors are even more generous with men than women. It is probably in this way that the heirs of Billie Jean King should now continue the fight.

London Culture: New country, new culture
During my semester in London I realized that the cultures are different according to the countries. I have already travelled in the past but never lived in a country other than France. There are several important aspects of this London culture that I have seen, and I will talk to you about.
Tumblr media
Firstly, the cosmopolitan side of the population. All capitals are cosmopolitan, but London seems to be the master in this matter. When you visit or walk around the city you may feel like you are travelling through several countries as the cultural mix of its people is great. Today, 40% of the London population are not native to this city and more than 300 languages are spoken there. So as a french man, I feel more at home than in a foreign country. Because all cultures are very well accepted and integrated, I am comfortable even if it is always easier to integrate with knowing the local language.
Tumblr media
Then, the world of work is also specific to England and London. It seems like the work is more seriously made than in France but in good conditions with a nice atmosphere. It’s something impossible in France, we hardly can have both. But here, the good atmosphere prevailing at work gives the impression that there is no hierarchy, that the basic employee is as important as a manager. Everyone is listened and can speak at the same level;
Tumblr media
One of the most striking things for a stranger when he arrives in England, and especially in London is the politeness of the locals. The "sorry Darling!" launched after a small stampede in the street, quickly puts us at ease. It happens for us, French accustomed to a limited politeness on the street, to have the impression that they mock us so much their excuses or formulas of politeness are exaggerated. But it is one of the very friendly aspects of this city, and that helps for its global tourism development.
Tumblr media
One of the most famous customs in England, after the pubs, is the outfits of the children who are all in costumes to go to school. This tradition aims to put all pupils at the same level to avoid any religious and social distinctions. But for us, foreigners, it's fun to see children running in costumes every morning to go to school. It is not a habit that one has in France.
Tumblr media
We must also talk about the dedication of Londoners in all sorts of charities. In practically every street you can see charity shops in which Londoners come to spend time to help the poorest. In addition, there are also boxing gyms that train amateurs over short or long periods for a match of exhibitions whose funds will be donated to the associations.
To conclude I would like to say that London is a great city. Everyday can be a surprise so don’t be shy and come here do discover a new life.

London culture
Hi everyone, my name is Hugo and I'm from Bordeaux I'm here for the second semester and I'm going to talk about London culture.
Tumblr media
Since I've been here I've had the time to notice a few things I'd like to talk about. England is really different in many ways from other countries that I have visited, especially London.
First of all pointless to specify that the English rolls to the left, not practical and very destabilizing for us right wheeling European, but when we speaking with the English on this subject, they are very proud to defend their tradition saying that this It is not them who rolls the wrong side of the road but us because of Napoleon, well on this point, they are right, unfortunately. There is also a very strong culture of volunteerism here, the majority of Londoners are volunteers for charity or sports clubs when they do not work. So there is a multitude of charity shop or charity on the streets.
Art and culture are very present in London, most of the museums are free for all visitors, a donation can be made if desired. Access to art and science are therefore rather easy for all those who want more there is a very large number of very rich library of books of all types and accessible simply through a map. As for the monuments most of them are not visitable free and cost between 20 and 30 pounds. The city is a real melting pot, just like the big capitals and megalopolis, one can observe here an ethnic mix and a social mix. The cuisine, a must here in London, for us French it does not give too much, it is also for this reason that can be seen here in the various market of foreign food.
The respect is very important, even if it is to be in the exes, but the English do not judge too much at first sight especially with regard to the style of dress, which is here more free, with notably neighborhoods with the well-defined and special style as Camden Town and Shoreditch.
Finally how to talk about London culture without addressing pubs, which are here a meeting place and reunion between friends and family. The English meet there after work, on weekends, or during football matches, it is therefore a real place of conviviality.
To conclude, the English life is really particular of the fact of that culture different from ours, that it is in matter of style, cooking, life. But this culture is really interesting, and very rich, it is really to discover.

Bus, the Underground and DLR
Tumblr media
You must realize that London has a large transport network, about 65% of journeys are made through these transport networks.
The Underground
It is nicknamed the Tube here, the London Underground was the first rapid transit system in the world created in 1863. Today, there are more than 3 million passengers in the subway every day. It has 11 lines, most of which serve to connect the suburbs to central London and together form a large network in central London, connecting major railway stations, central shopping areas and more.
Tumblr media
Did you know that only 45% of the system is underground in tunnels, a large part of the network in the London area being on the surface.
The Bus
Tumblr media
The London bus has entered popular culture as England's internationally renowned image with their two floors and their bright red color. The London bus network is huge, with more than 6,800 regular services every weekday, carrying about six million passengers on more than 700 different routes, making it one of the busiest bus systems in the world. by far, the largest in Europe. More than a symbol this bus is also an indicator of performance that can make the United Kingdom proud
Cash tickets have not been available since July 6, 2014. London Bus buses accept Oyster cards, contactless debit and credit cards only.
The DLR
Tumblr media
The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) is an almost autonomous subway system serving mainly East London. It complements London's underground network by sharing a large part of its pricing system and carrying out a number of exchanges.
The DLR serves approximately 101 million passengers a year and is an essential infrastructure in the London rail network.
The subway, the bus and the DLR are generally the means of transport used most English in a day, they also serve as showcases on the world because they have in them certain cultural peculiar to each. Forerunner in the rail world London has been what it is today thanks to its transport and its ingenious infrastructure that makes public transport not a last minute solution but a real choice for Londoners

London Culture
During my linguistic stay in London I had the time to view and analysed the English culture. Now I go to show you how English culture is really different than other country. I have found 5 points of development.
 For first, the work experience.
Contrary as the mayor part of country, the English work is based in volunteer work. In effect, in England we can see in street a lot of charity shop or charity association.
Charity is inked in mentality, for example when you want to separate from old furniture in France or major part of country you just throw in waste reception center. But in England they just give their old furniture in different charity shop or charity association.
All of this create a lot of jobs even though large part of job are just volunteer.
Tumblr media
Secondly, art and culture are really important in England mentality.
In London if you make attention around you, you can observe a multitude of nationality. So, London has all cultures of the world.
London has a lot of monuments and art monuments like museum or art gallery. The particularity of London is a major part of their monuments are free, this allows a big affluence in monuments.
Tumblr media
Third, Pub
Contrary with France, English people are accustomed to go in pub for watch sport or just for drink beer with their friends. Specially the week-end, go to bar for drink beer and talk about everything and nothing is a habit for young and old people.
Tumblr media
Fourth, the respect
The respect is one of the most important things about the English culture. The English people always says “thanks you” or “excuse me”. It is not really respectful to arrive and kiss other people that you don’t know in London. You must employee some polite sentences when you want to ask something. It is really appreciated here.
In London they also respect the hierarchy, if you are a worker when you talk as your manager you must to talk with respect
Tumblr media
Finally, the Dress code
If you go to work or go in an appointment you need to wear smart dress for give good impression. For French people dress code is not very important but in London it’s very important if you want to put a foot in the English business.
Tumblr media
To conclude, English culture is really different than other country but it’s one of the most interesting because of this diversity of cultures.

LONDON: Between modernity and tradition
When you arrive in London, the first thing you can see is her modernity. The city of 2012 Olympic game is glowing by his economic dynamism in the City or in Canary Wharf. Buildings growth like mushrooms and a lot of company wish to settle here. Despite of the pessimism of “pro remain” in the last 3 years, the Brexit does not seem to bother the British capital.
London is plenty of shop, street food, great park and touristic attraction and it is very difficult to be boring if you go outside. It is not a hazard if the famous representation of London is Big Ben, in fact this clock who dominate the Parliament show a city who haven’t got the time! The Greenwich’s meridian gives the hour for all the world and show the influence of the Swinging City beyond frontiers. The City have got also 14 railways station who show it’s the place to be in Britain.
The dynamism of London is also visible when we see its sports infrastructure: From Twickenham, the home of the XV of the Red Rose to the Queen Elisabeth Olympic Park who host Olympics Games in 2012, passing by Stamford Bridge or the Emirate Stadium for the two biggest football team of London.
Tumblr media
The interesting thing in London is the mix between modernity and tradition. Indeed, the modernity who is a good qualifier for London, the British people is very attached to the monarchy and thanks to the royal family they don’t forget its origins. Buckingham Palace who continue to celebrate the changing of the Guard every day at 11AM and remember to the hurry Londoner where does he comes. The British people love the Queen and the Royal family because is the last sincere link between him and the state, beyond politics quarrels. The Tower of London who is one of the oldest monuments and if the medieval style of the fortress denotes with the rest, it shows the eternal facet of London.

LONDON : THE CITY OF SPORTS
I arrived in early september in London. The first thing that struck me ? The amount of street playgrounds ! These are everywhere, there are at least 5 football playgrounds, just on my short way to school ! Same for the stadiums, no other city can boast such collection of large stadium and arenas…
The first big stadium I’ve been to is Wembley. Unfortunately not to enjoy a game but to work in the hospitality area. It was the last match of the three NFL europeans games that London hold every year. The Philadelphia Eagles VS the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Tumblr media
Even if we’ve been very busy, I have had the opportunity to watch a few minutes of the game. The atmosphere was incredible, more than 85 000 seats, I felt like if was in the Philadelphia Stadium, the fans were so noisy and involved !
Tumblr media
I have also been to Twickenham. Probably for the biggest venue of the year in Twix, the England rubgy team vs New Zealand. It was a tight game but England lost 14-15. It was my first time ever in a rugby stadium. The atmosphere is different than a football game, it’s not the same culture, but I have been really enjoying my day.
Tumblr media
Thanks to AMOS, I also had the opportunity to go to the o2 arena twice, for the Nitto ATP finals and the Ultimate Boxxer final.
The boxing gala was held in the Indigo, a smaller arena Inside of the o2. Eight up-and-coming light heavyweight boxers fought for a big money prize pool, and a step up the career ladder. After 2 gained fights, Shakan Pitters has beaten Drew Brown in the final. Those fights really impressed me, now I would like to practise boxing asap.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Concerning the ATP Finals, Iv’e seen the first match of the Lleyton Hewitt group, opposing Kevin Anderson to Kei Nishikori. Anderson has demolished Nishikori 6-0/6-1. He was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. He did everything right. The game lasted 63 minutes only. I feel Lucky to have seen this match.
Tumblr media
I still have so many stadiums to see, I hope that I can visit as man stadiums as possible before we leave. My next project? Visiting Stamford Bridge.

“Charity and Volunteering, two importants things…”
Almost a year and a half past, and already so many things lived... This sentence alone sums up the path travelled, between professional experiences and courses is now added during our semester in London "volunteering". 1 semester in London, 30 hours of volunteering for charity and unique moments... My volunteering, my charity…
First, the place I chose: the Ahoy Center.
At the edge of the Thames, in the Greenwich district and this very close to the school, this centre is ideally placed. It focuses on the maintenance of boats to offer many opportunities, be it trips on the Thames, or professional opportunities, to disadvantaged children and teenagers or from sensitive neighbourhoods.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But now, why this choice ?
Well, there are several factors: first of all, the field, sport. Although this is not in sports practice, it is still in the water sports with the maintenance of the boats or elements used for the construction of the latter. There is also the fact that it was our school that offered this charity, aside from this opportunity I hastened to walk in many charities for Pouvor to help, and figure that The Ahoy Center answered me first. What more could you ask for ? Another factor, that of the proximity of the school as well as of my home, you like me you doubt that it is better to be close to his place of work, so it is done with just 20 minutes of transport.  The fact that this is a totally unknown sector for me also pushed me to take the step, and yes, "it takes little to be happy" as they say no ? I could have just done my charity hours in the sale for a good cause or in an area in which I had a minimum of skills, off I made the choice to discover something else, to make the most of my experience in London.
My choice, what about now that I have committed?
To tell the truth, I have no regrets, because I meet new people, and I take part in a very nice team that works in a good mood and without any pressure. In addition to discovering a new sector, I work in very good conditions and I take advantage of my colleagues.
Tumblr media
A semester in London What's more for me my first time in England, many professional experiences on London, and participation in a charity, what more before returning to our "good old territory" ? I don’t know…
I write my story, but what about yours ?
Thank You

Charity in UK
Thanks to my school, I have the chance to study in the best place to learnt English language during a semester : London.
During my semester, to validate my school year and gained interesting work experience, I had to find and work thirty hours for a charity organisation.
After some research and perseverance, I found my charity experience in ‘Cancer Research UK’ in Lewisham.
Tumblr media
This discount charity shop aims, through the sale of clothing and real estate objects, to recover funds that help for cancer research in the UK.
But, what is a discount charity shop ? A discount charity shop maximises the value of their stock in lower affluence areas by offering lower end and culled stock at low average selling price in high volume. Moreover, they are usually in lower affluence towns where there are a large proportion of how income families and single, along with higher than average levels social of housing and unemployment. They are successful in these areas as they provide their customers with very low price clothing and it is a profitable avenue to sell previously unsold area stock. Discount shops sell their items at a lower price than core shops, and as such will have to sell more stock, to meet their income target. Because of this discount shops should have a large sales space to make selling higher volumes easier, along with a larger volunteer workforce to enable higher levels of processing.
Now that everybody have a better view on charity shops, let’s move on the volunteer and their missions. Indeed, in my charity shop ‘Cancer Research UK’ all of the employees are volunteers and give their workforces for the smooth running of the shop, but also because they want to help other people who are in need. I talk about my case in ‘Cancer Research UK’ but it is the same vision for all the charity shop in England like the ‘British Heart Foundation’, ‘Oxfam’ or also ‘Red Cross’ in England but also in the world.

To conclude my article, in UK, we can find a lot of charity shops, defend different humanitarian's causes, but all of them have one goal : save, protect and above all help our fellow citizens.
Thank you.

Feedback:
First of all, this experience was very great because I discover amazing places and met great people.
1-    The Oyster card :
When you arrive in London, the oyster card is essential. You can’t take transports without it (bus, train, metro, DLR). It’s easy to buy an oyster card because you can find it on train stations, shops, airports. I thought it was less expensive to pay for one month with unlimited journeys than top-up every time you have to take transports.
2-    National Insurance Number :
In London, when you want to work you have to get your National Insurance Number. To get it, you need to call to get an appointment. On the phone, the person asks you questions about you and give you a schedule, the place of the appointment and a number to write and to give the day of your appointment. When you are at the Job centre, you write your number and give it to a desk. A person will call your name to do your NIN. At the end, she scans your passport and give you a temporary NIN. You will receive the official one two weeks after at your home.
3-    Job :
When you have your NIN, you can begin to search a work. I began to search on the application Job today. I found a job after 4 weeks of searching in a restaurant in Regents Park. This job was hard but I met very great people and I discovered a new job. This restaurant is a chain and I worked on different areas but for the same restaurant. The nicest one was Regents Park.

To conclude I had great time in London, I did my first English work experience. I saw nice places like Wembley Stadium or Piccadilly Circus. Thank you, AMOS, for all.

BREAKING NEWS : Kidnapping Alert...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It has been reported that Mr Daniel MOREIRAS, a young student Portuguese at Amos Business School Nice disappeared the 9th June 2018.
The last time that we know where he was, he assisted a musical comedy “The Lion King”, in the purpose to remember his childhood. Witnesses testify having seen him wandering in London streets… What could have he done during all this time? Thanks to witnesses’ declarations, we have been able to retrace his journey here in London. Here is a shot of what he has done…
Tumblr media
As his professors said, he first came to London to discover a new culture and to improve his language. It was his dream to be involved as many as possible activities in such a great capital as London!     As a passionate of sports, he was mostly found around football stadiums and events arenas. Indeed he always loves to live the whole experience, this is why it was hard to follow him : preparation for the event, warm up, comments, celebrations, debriefing… It was always a long completed journey. His favorite places were : - The O2 arena, watching concerts and sports events such as MMA fights; - The Craven Cottage Stadium, located in Fulham, with the crowd of football fans; - Shoreditch hood, to meet people and to party.
Tumblr media
Even though at first glance we could imagine that Daniel was only here to party and to have fun, he was known as “Dan the rock”! In fact he was a hard worker –it is true, we have to admit that-… His colleagues lament his disappearing, they all miss him as he brought a particular joy of living at work. Every moment of his two months shift spent with him at The Sky Garden restaurant was unique. “We all miss him, he delivered us a high quality work. We all want him to come back” stated the sadden manager of Darwin Restaurant.
Tumblr media
His most recent craziness was to visit different museums and to attend morning crossfit classes, where he was particularly involved.  Following his last declarations, he seems to had completed his missions here in London, by gathering all the experiences that he could pretend.
Tumblr media
Our last clue, as his strong family attachment proves,  is that this adventurer came back from where he belongs, close to his family following the sun from where he was raised. The only one south of France sun…
