#TeamToff 2017 Ambitions
So March has come and now its on its way out as well!! Seriously, where is 2017 going already?
In fairness we have managed to nail 1 of our goals for the year already which was to start Novice dressage tests... We went one step further at our last outing winning our third Novice test together!!
I had set some milestones to be hitting by the end of May this year and that was to complete our first ODE outing but we managed that last year and even qualified for a National Championship so I have upped expectations for this year already. Its good to set goals and targets to aim for so even when there may be a lull in the competition schedule you are always working towards the end goals.
So... Here’s the plan for this year...
1 - get a tidy score in the BRC Novice Dressage National Championships.
2 - teach Toff that the aim of showjumping is to leave the poles in the air and not on the floor.
3 - compete for the SRC horse trials team at Sapey in June.
4 - start British Eventing in July.
5 - complete a BE90 by the end of the season.
We have a lesson with our jump trainer this weekend so fingers crossed we have worked hard enough at our homework from last time and then its a quiet few days until we have our final training session for Keysoe with our dressage trainer. Also, stud holes went in yesterday so that’s always a good sign that the season is about to kick off for us!!

Hi there! I guess I should introduce the main characters of this page! I’ll be brief...
To the left of the pic is the star of the show & my team mate Toff!! Toff is a 2009 TB gelding only raced twice on the flat as a 5 year old under the name Woody Whipser. Alas, deemed a bit unruly & reading between the lines a bit, a pain in the arse was quickly retired & advertised online. Then along came the supporting cast (me, Sarah- right of pic) in March 2015 looking for a bit of a project to train up and take eventing. Setting eyes on this dude I immediately fell in love and here we are today!
I’m really starting this blog to log our first season eventing & hope people might be keen to get on board and enjoy our story. Whether its to have a giggle at how hopeless we may be or if it inspires you to get out & achieve your dreams.
I’m 26. I have been riding for 20 years & it is my dream to compete one star by the time I am 30.. There, I said it. Its out there for the world to see so I better stick to my word now.
