Help me find a timestamp
For thesis reasons I need the example where in season 1 Anthony describes an object saying something like "it's this big" and shows the size with his hands and then Will (???) says somewhat along the lines of "do you want to try that againg for our podcast audience" etc. I remember hearing it not too long ago but I have lost track what episode it was in. Where is it??? Do you know what I am talking about? I am sure there are several similar mess-ups in season one I would need any of those where someone says something and then has to say the thing again for audio-format reasons.
Help me out, I need to turn this in in a few weeks and I don't have time to go through all the 70 episodes of season one again to find it

So I was just thinking:
I know that Faerûn bends at the will of the DM and it is supposed to be convenient for the plot and the meta level of writing and smart world building and yada yada, I KNOW
BUT I was just looking at Grant and the whole fortnite thing and that got me thinking. What a coincidence that Grant happened to stumble upon a corner of this world where he was the most comfortable in... What a coincidence that he has never felt like he was good enough to reach his father and then he just happens to drop in (heh) to a place where he gets to play games all the time with a team and win. And like... The world the dads are experiencing is scary as hell. It is weird, it is threatening, it is geniunely dangerous.
Now my what if thought is that what if the world, once gotten in contact with these humans tried to find a way to make the kids feel like it's not that bad. Like yeah, you maybe lost your father but is your 12-13 year old brain able to think about that if you are offered something fun, familiar and safe in exchange. It could also be explained with the canon. Was the plan to make every kid forget that they once were somewhere else? You know, like Spirited away adjacent consuming fantasy? That's a lot what it sounds like, because even the time isn't linear in there and the purple robes kept repeating how they are going to keep the children "happy healthy and safe".
It makes sense, right? Every kid got something they wanted from the fantastic world? Grant got a tiny taste of freedom and his own actancy. Lark and Sparrow got actual power. Nick got a family. Terry got his dad back. You see where I am going with this? What would've happen if they were never found? And did the world recognize that it has a way higher chance to lure and trap in the still developing children, rather than the grown up adults? Because it tried to offer something that it thought they would want, but the dads rejected it because they wanted to find their children more. Hell, Barry straight up tells Henry to stay there with his kids.
TLDR; i think the world (the doodler?) meant to lure and trap the kids to the fantastic to a point where they forget there was ever anything else.

My thesis idea got approved and so far I am working on it under a wip name of "Storytelling and use of affects in Dungeons and Daddies". My first hypothesis is that Anthony's experience as a writer shines through in the base story and collective storytelling adds to that, with the dice bringing elements of improvisation and humour. That's all good, I am thriving with this section and it is so fun.
The part I am struggling is my second hypothesis is that each family represents some sort of conflict within them and each child represents an emotion. The dads need to face both, the emotion of the child and the conflict of the family before they can move on. The conflicts are handeled with a help of fantasy genre conventions. But this is where I am stuck in!
(The overanalytical drabbles of my ideas under the cut)
The Oaks are like super obviously dealing with a generational trauma that is a physical creature in the fantasy world. Lark and Sparrow are repserenting love and hate, both of them. The thing is that one internalises the hate and gives out love to cover it; one gets consumed by the hatered and aims it outside and is repulsed by the idea of love fixing everything.
The Stamplers on the other hand! The conflict starts out as Terry rejecting the idea of Ron as a "new father". He is grieving, not ready to let go of Terry sr. He goes through literally every step mentioned in Patrick Colm Hogan's book "What Literature Teaches Us about Emotion" (2011) So Terry represent grief, quite clearly. But that conflict is solved by the end of Saving Terry arc! The next conflict starts when we get to Ron's memories and we see how Ron never recieved parental love. It is being spelled out how Ron tries so hard to be something he never got to have; a safe father figure. But Ron doesn't have quite as clear conflict as Henry or say Darryl have, and I am struggling to put this thought out with fewer words.
Aaand The Willsons have such a good conflict and Grant says it out loud, thank you Anthony! They speak, but they never talk. Carol and Darryl's marriage is falling apart because they do not talk about the things that are bothering them. They are stuck to pretending that everything is okay, taxes mean sex and movienights are dates. Very safe, very mundane, very not passionate. Grant has never seen his father cry. When Yeet and Killa are discussing if Grant should kill someone or not, Grant says out loud the problem in their family "If my father has taught me anything, it's that we can always talk about it later." He is just 12, but Darryl forgets that very effectively. He guides Grant by framing close and serious matters to be more distant. ("Hey buddy, I need your help here a bit. Kill that chimera and we can make burgers, you'd like a burger, Yeet would like a burger yes?") Grant therefore represents distance and not being good enough. Darryl is very proud of his son, but never says it to his face in a way that would reach. The silence is also funnily enough incorporated into the fact that Frank's vision can't talk to Darryl.
Finally, The Closes. Where do I even start. So the conflict is the other parent dying. It affects both of these characters but neither of them is willing to face that feeling. They wrap it in a narrative of "We will do. It's fine, I'm cool, doesn't even bother me". Where Terry is allowed to grieve his father, Nick is not (by Nick, I think he denies it himself in order to please or impress or appeal to Glenn). Glenn doesn't do it either, because as we hear in the trials, he felt like Nick needed a strong father who had his shit together. The moment Morgan was gone, Glenn switched to a survival mode. They both describe their relationship to be buddy-like and "tight", they are very laid back. As much as Darryl, Glenn also tends to forget that Nick is like what, 12. I think Nick's need for a father can be found in his saving arc. He's so excited to have found a forest full of drug-flowers, because he knows Glenn likes that. He asks if they can "leave the others behind and stay here". The fantastic isn't scaring Nick, he sees it as an oppoturnity where Glenn isn't going away and he gets to be around him. But where I struggle is to put this in one emotion that Nick would represent. Is it seek of approval? Grief? Safety? Stability?
So... That's quite a lot. If you have any thoughts on the feelings or conflicts feel free to comment or slide into my DMs! I am not in the official discord but just know that if I were this would fly out there so fast. I also might not answer right away, I don't have this app on my phone lol.
I just need to get this out and I figured you might appreciate these more than my poor loved ones who don't even listen the podcast. My three hour yappings about each kid just goes straight through xd

Top things I have asked my family and friends in recent weeks:
What is a minivan in Finnish?
How do you describe a Honda Odyssey?
Is there an official translation for "Forgotten Realms"?
How would you say "He's a dick" professionally? Or should I just censor it?
Do you think [two characters they have absolutely no context of] are similar from an emotional standpoint?
Am I annoying?

I really hope my opponent appreciates the absolute heartbreak that I am currently going through in my paper with the Oak family. They get to see in 4K how I slowly lose my mind as I spiral deeper into the analysis on what the eldritch horror passing through generations represents in the context of literacy history. They get to read pages of me rambling how Henry Oak changes his role and positioning through dialogue first talking to his mother and then to his sons. How Barry weaponized his anger and Henry turned his into anxiety and how Lark embraces it and Sparrow internalises it and OH GOD
They get to experience Dungeons and daddies for the first time ever!
I hope they appreciate that.

Update on dndads MA's!!!
I got the first green light ! 💅✨ I'm currently enrolled in pre-seminar where you work on the first 15-ish pages of the real deal ™ I'm going to be focusing on dialogue and subversion of the portrayal of fatherhood being distant, cold and uncaring. The possible interview/survey phase comes way later and this is it for now, but I'm so hyped. I'm also sorry to tell that I'll be writing this in my native language (vivat academia, write in your first languages you fools) but translating it when it's accepted and done is not off the table. And obviously you'll get to see your own interview part translated etc etc
Anyway, that's all for now! If you have good peer reviewed sources I'll gladly take suggestions!
Tldr: It's happening.

I am afraid that my intense love for this podcast and the tendency to overanalyze everything has led me into a position where I want to write my master's about the dads 😔 That being said! My academic advisor hasn't approved it yet, and I think I have to do a pretty intense marketing job to get this idea through. So asking FOR THE PROFESSOR and for a future reference: would you be interested and willing to partake in a survey and/or online interview about the community the podcast has and how you as a listener have consumed this media and what you have possibly got from it. I think I have to be horrible and include only S1 because there's too much content otherwise. Plz press buttons on the poll so my professor believes that this is a good idea 😭 You don't sign up for anything

This podcast has always been wild trying to explain to anyone who asks about it. But GUYS how are we explaining anything that happens in Peachyville??
How does one make it sound like something that is easy to understand and worth getting yourself into when episode 6. alone includes tony's italian childhood as a cat, turdy the robot meeting moth jesus and francis, after taking a nap under his teacher's bed and scooping out someone's eyes, gets a sniper rifle from his parents. Like WHAT?
