2. Transform:

Some of them can be column or row-based, coded and calculated values, key-based, joining different data sources, etc.

3. Load:

Jira and Bugzilla are widely used bug tracking tools by large organizations. Nowadays both the tools are in huge demand these days, but both the tools differ in performances. Let’s first look at the key points of both the tools, and then we will look at the differences between both the tools.

Jira

Jira is a bug tracking tool developed by an Australian company Atlassian in 2002. It is used for project management, issue tracking, and bug tracking. Jira is not an open-source tool, i.e., Jira software is not available at free of cost; it’s a paid service.

Advantages of Jira software

Jira tool is useful for functional testing.

Server Load Server load in Bugzilla is considerably low as compared to the Jira software. In Bugzilla, multiple instances can run on one server without much overhead while Jira is a complex system that executes most of the server-side code per web request due to which server load is considerably higher. It is recommended to have powerful hardware for Jira, i.e., modern CPU and 1 GB of memory. According to the Atlassian community, do not store more than 200,000 issues on a single JIRA instance.

Drag-and-Drop issue prioritization Drag-and-Drop issue prioritization feature is available in Jira but not in Bugzilla. In Jira, you can easily drag and drop the issues based on the priority of the issues, but this will not be possible in Bugzilla.

Dashboard with customized gadgets Gadgets provide a summary of all the details, such as the team’s progress, reports, etc. Jira provides the feature “Dashboard with customized gadgets” in which you can customize the gadgets according to your needs, but this feature is not available in Bugzilla.

Real-time release tracking One of the most important thing during the development of the software is the visibility. Jira overcomes this problem by providing the communication between the development team and testing team due to which the team members can get to know that “when the task is started” and “when the task will be completed”. Ab initio vs Informatica | A Comparison Of Both

Ab Initio vs Informatica

Ab Initio and Informatica are pretty technical terms to most people. However, these are two of the most important tools when talking about software and data management. They are superb ETL (extract, transform, and load) tools used by many companies throughout the world today.

Foremost, these tools differ in the companies they serve. Informatica is said to cater to the data integration and management needs of medium to big business companies. It boasts of a broader data integration capability which includes many related functions such as profiling and data quality. Also, it is more mainstream in nature than the Ab Initio. The latter serves many companies under the Fortune 1000 list. It is more of a niche ETL type that is able to handle relatively larger volumes of data.

These two companies have different marketing philosophies. Informatica, being mainstream, makes use of a lot of paperwork and online press releases, web forums, and network developers. Surprisingly, Ab Initio almost seems to have no news or information on their products and opts for direct client marketing rather than basing it on the Internet.

Moreover, both Ab Initio and Informatica have parallelism support. However, the latter can only support one kind of parallelism whereas the former has three different parallelisms namely: pipeline, component, and data parallelisms.

Scheduling is also more cumbersome in Ab Initio because there’s no scheduler unlike in the case of Informatica. Hence, you need to run a script or enter a schedule manually if you’re using the Ab Initio.

Generally, it has been noticed that Ab Initio is a friendlier system than Informatica. It is because it is able to process varying text files so you can read or browse through them even if each file is structured differently.

Overall, both Ab Initio and Informatica are different tools whose appropriateness depends on the company’s need, the nature of data integration needed, the amount of data to be handled, and the overall infrastructures available among others. Still, there are many other significant differences between the two tools but the most noticeable of which are the following:

Informatica is more mainstream and has wider or broader data integration capabilities than Ab Initio

Ab Initio generally serves companies under the Fortune 1000 list while Informatica serves another medium to large-scale companies.

Ab Initio practices direct client marketing while Informatica has a lot of online leg work through press releases, forums, and the like.

Ab Initio supports three different classes of parallelisms whereas Informatica only supports one type.

What is Hadoop

Hadoop is an open source framework from Apache and is used to store process and analyze data which are very huge in volume. Hadoop is written in Java and is n ot OLAP (online analytical processing). It is used for batch/offline processing.It is being used by Facebook, Yahoo, Google, Twitter, LinkedIn and many more. Moreover it can be scaled up just by adding nodes in the cluster.

Modules of Hadoop

HDFS: Hadoop Distributed File System. Google published its paper GFS and on the basis of that HDFS was developed. It states that the files will be broken into blocks and stored in nodes over the distributed architecture.

Yarn: Yet another Resource Negotiator is used for job scheduling and manage the cluster.

Map Reduce: This is a framework which helps Java programs to do the parallel computation on data using key value pair. The Map task takes input data and converts it into a data set which can be computed in Key value pair. The output of Map task is consumed by reduce task and then the out of reducer gives the desired result.

Hadoop Common:These Java libraries are used to start Hadoop and are used by other Hadoop modules.

Hadoop Architecture

The Hadoop architecture is a package of the file system, MapReduce engine and the HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System). The MapReduce engine can be MapReduce/MR1 or YARN/MR2.

A Hadoop cluster consists of a single master and multiple slave nodes. The master node includes Job Tracker, Task Tracker, NameNode, and DataNode whereas the slave node includes DataNode and TaskTracker.
