NEXTGEN: Concepts and Headcanons

CREATOR'S NOTE: These headcanons/ideas regarding the Kirby series are not exclusive to Nextgen or Itsquakey. These concepts can be used by others for their own creations and DO NOT require any kind of credit. Concepts can be twisted to whatever you'd like.

Welcome to week 2! Where I'll be redoing a lot of my older art here and going into more depth about large parts of this AU's rules. These include redos of old art and new art.

-THE CYCLE OF MATTER-

The cycle of matter exists uniquely within dark and light matter at the moment and exists as a form of balance within the universe. When a being dies, its body moves into deep space, fizzling away into a nebula which moves through the galaxy and collecting positive and/or negative matter near each planet it passes. Once enough of a type of energy is collected, it lands into the nearest planet and completes its reincarnation. If a nebula collects mainly positive energy, it becomes a light matter being like Meta knight, if not it becomes solely dark matter. In a rare instance where there is a even 50/50 spit of energy, a being like Gooey is born. Note that while the memory of the being is wiped with every reincarnation period, the soul remains as a new blank piece to go through life.

-LIGHT MATTER GROWTH STAGES-

Light matter have a much more detailed growth stage compared to dark matter, starting out as a small colorless lump and eventually growing into a colorful being with wings and horns. A light matter being can live well into 1,000 years before the cycle of matter or something else claims them.

-DEATH, REAPERS, AND NECRODEUS-

Necrodeus's character is basically entirely made up for this AU, carrying a legend that he was once a mortal man who then became the god the death a long, long time ago. He is responsible for both the creation of beings like the skullies and the soul seeking butterflies (Note that Mass attack did not occur in this AU, the deity of life stopped Necordeus before he could do anything stupid to kick-start Mass attack).

Necrodeus is tasked with looking after both the afterlife and making sure people die on their exact death dates. He uses soul seeking butterflies to make his job easier, as well as reapers which are souls fused with those butterflies. These reapers are either chosen by Necrodeus immediately then trained or a soul can train to then become a reaper, if Necrodeus approves (For example, Morpho and Papi were picked at death, Meta had to train for it).

Necrodeus is also capable of reaping souls that would usual go through a reincarnation period, taking their soul from their body which ends the cycle of matter for that being.

-KIRBY-

Not much really needs to be explained with Kirbs, the image does good work kinda sharing the basics. Kirby is a four positive matter blend, completely void of any negative energy, hence his power and why they're such a jolly fellow. It also kinda explains why Kirby cannot really feel complex negative emotions but can really feel complex positive emotions. Their ability to cycle through copy abilities and adapt to all sorts of climates is also due to their perfect blend of positives.

I have another idea for a kirby AU specifically a Forgotten Land/ Star-crossed world AU which is basically just a recycling of like the first ever "AU" I made but I CAN"T post about it cuz I NEED that dlc to come out first cuz what if the AU I make is just canon accurate and I didn't know or what if the dlc has cool new ideas for the AU I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS FOR THIS DLC but at the same time I don't want to bomb my followers with posts about a thing that hasn't come out with ideas that might not even be close to the final thing

I put this together is less of an hour, so it ain't pretty but it's not a permanent addition to this blog. This little thing will be up until the beginning of June.

So, Nextgen huh? I noticed recently that the series' considered anniversary date as well as a couple other dates that are under the AU all have their anniversaries in May, so why not do a month dedicated to the AU? This is a month that isn't a fan project mind you, all of this is going to be done by me since since highschool/early college I had a lot of time to do this, though now I don't. So once I enter summer break I'll make it worth the wait and add a ton of new and redone content to the blog! (Also a note, some of you maybe remember the AU being older, and that's true, however the AU did not have a real label nor properly start as a series until later on).

The schedule includes two new pieces of anniversary art, two comics (one brand new, one a redo of the first Nextgen comic ever), and a new and improved world-building collection of art pieces.

Fanart of the AU posted during the month of May will also be reblogged, but also personally promoted by me so people can check out their accounts and art.

Detailed schedule below:

May 3rd- Marstella (which technically started before Nextgen, but was added to the AU) will be turning 3/4 (I don't remember anymore lol) this year! So anniversary art will be made of the strange humorous family.

May 10th- The updated Nextgen worldbuilding collection includes recreations of previous graphs and illustrations to explain things like the cycle of matter and light matter growth stages and new things.

May 17th- A new comic, which explains the origin of how Galacta became Morpho knight and a proper introduction to Necrodeus to the AU.

May 24th- Nextgen 3rd anniversary art! Basic enough. Will include a large collection of Nextgen characters.

May 31rst- The "Meta knight dies for real" comic, which I consider to be the beginning of the AU, will be getting a remake, mainly to see how much I've improved as an artist as well as make a new generation of users to be sad over a post.
