a little blorbo about sitting by the fire with teddy

the fire in front of the couch burned bright orange and red, flickering against the logs of wood lodged into the fireplace. you snuggled into ted’s chest, remnants of his cologne and soap on the fabric of his sweater, your head rising and falling with his soft breath.

“you’re so warm,” ted’s voice rumbled under you, as his hand gently scratched at the nape of your neck. his rings were gently brushing against you, making you shiver despite the heat of the fire.

“some of that might be the fire,” you giggled, your hands clasped around his waist. he laughed, hearty and deep, leaning down to kiss the top of your head. “i never wanna leave,” his voice softened, barely above a whisper against the crackle of the fireplace.

you hummed against him, leaning into his touch and cuddling deeper into his chest. your eyes fluttered closed, heart beat slowing as you drifted off to sleep against him.
