End of quarter Blog 3:
these are a few examples of Palestine street art and for me the message or theme these images are trying to communicate to me i has something to do with the devastating effects of the war on the people of Palestine. it sends me a message that Palestine is trapped by war with no way to free itself turning it into a living hell for its people.

End of quarter Blog 2: The Time That Remains
one scene that really stood out to me was the scene where the father is riding his bicycle and is confronted by an Israeli tank and i was expecting him to react in fear and completely panic but no. he maintains his composer and ride past them like they aren't even their. for me this shows how despite the amount of military presence the father refuses to show them weakness and you can even say it was an example of resistance.

End of quarter Blog 1: Memory For Forgetfulness
me personally i found it shocking how ones ordinary life is quickly disrupted like one minute your going about doing your everyday routine and then the next your city is under siege. now i wouldn't say this story resonates with me in any way but is a interesting story so far.

Week 7 Blog 3: 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony
this source mention how social media influencer Andrew Tate protested against the ceremony claiming it is disrespecting Christianity.
This source gives us what the director behind the ceremony had to say following the backlash. Apparently he didn't take inspiration from "the last supper" claiming it was an act of artistic freedom.
my take on the contradiction is that it would've been a whole lot better if the director just said their was at least some inspiration from "the last supper". reason i say this is because although he says there isn't when you first look at the two you can see they are very similar to one another and so maybe if he just went along with it there wouldn't be as much backlash. in terms of resolving the truth the best way would be to just take his word for it but considering there will always be be people who will push back on that it definitely makes it a whole lot trickier but i do think it is possible.

Sami Abdul Razek (Palestine refugee) 45:15
he tells us about the story of how his uncle was beaten by a British officer at one of the check point for arguing and it goes to show how unfair Palestinians were being treated.
Jewish migration 40:20
this is a chart on the amount of Jewish people immigrating into Palestine between 1931-1935 and each year the amount of immigrants increases.
Judenstaat Theodore Herzel 5:27
this is a book that was written in 1896 and is one of the early examples of Zionism text
21:10
this shows a document that recognizes Hebrew, Arabic, and English as an official language in Palestine and you can start to see the effect of the Zionist movement in the country.

Week 7 Blog 1: Khalidi
Bibliography:
This source give us a first hand depiction on what was going on behind the scenes. i think its a interesting detail considering the author was the few people with this knowledge.
i liked this source because i never new that their was Palestine soldiers during the war. for some reason i just thought that country's in the middle east had little to none involvement during the wars.
i just thought this one was heart warming because we know the narrators dad was the one who was speaking on the radio.
this one was shocking to me because it just shows how much more help Israel was getting compared to Palestine. it really show us who the favorite really was.

Week 6 Blog 4: Alephia 2053
i actually enjoyed this short film because the structure/plot is similar to that of the hunger games a movie which i really enjoy as well. i found it interesting how in both of these movies "Hope" played a huge part when starting revolution's against the corrupts powers. For example in the hunger games the main protagonist Katniss is portrayed as the mocking jay who is also the symbol of hope in that movie and in this movie the slogan combined with the efforts of Majds group are what gave the people the hope to fight back. but for me a quote that sums this up perfectly come directly from the hunger games movie which says " Hope. is the only thing stronger than fear."
i would also like to mention that while watching this movie it reminded me of many dictatorships that took place in South America. One in particular is Chile and Augusto's Pinochet's reign and how the stuff we see in this movie like the living conditions of the lower class and the cruelty against them is similar to that of chiles. the source i found that explains what it was like during that time https://www.colorado.edu/asmagazine/2023/09/26/dictatorship-left-lot-scars
to summarize it, it talks about Julio Sepulveda's experience growing up during the dictatorship and how indigenous people and groups like his were discriminated and prosecuted in Chile.

Week 6 Blog 3:
when i look at these images in my eyes they each seem to form the narrative that the elections this year are a completely mess for example pic 2 shows exactly that a big mess on a canvas is called the 2024 election same thing with pic 3 where its describing the whole situation a political theater. for pic 1 its aimed directly at trump making him look like a fool were as for pic 4 it shows the terrible conditions both parties are in leading up to the election and if you notice the pot hole it says "FBI search" a call back to trumps scandal.

Week 6 Blog 1: Intersectionality's
Intersectionality: an intersectionality is a concept that shows us how different aspects of a persons identity like race, gender, and class interact and overlap creating unique experiences for everyone around us.
An intersectionality that i would say applies to me is being a Latino male and an experience that I've had i wouldn't says its personal but i have definitely noticed this a lot and its the fact that men in the Latino households tend to have it easier than women. an example i can think of is Latina mothers favoring their sons more than their daughters like the mothers tend to look out more for their sons and the women are basically left to fend for themselves.

Week 5 Blog 3:
source 1:
Ufheil-Somers, Amanda. “Primer: Lebanon’s 15-Year War, 1975-1990.” MERIP, 27 Nov. 2016, merip.org/1990/01/primer-lebanons-15-year-war-1975-1990/#:~:text=Or%20is%20it%20a%20unique,Muslims%20support%20secular%20political%20groups.
This source helped my understanding of the story by giving us a bit of backstory on the issues that where occurring in Lebanon that led to the war. i say this because when we start the movie it is not told directly to us what the conflict is and we sort of figure out as we watch more of the movie. So for me this source helped fill in that missing gap that was missing from the story in the first place.

Week 5 Blog 2: Crisis in Gaza
“Israel-Hamas War: Gaza Facing Humanitarian Crisis after Israeli Raids.” YouTube, YouTube, 2023, www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rPpfnrlxFU.
“Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza.” YouTube, YouTube, 2024, www.youtube.com/watch?v=41FQ0UBtFRo.
“Crisis in Gaza: What Is Happening?” The IRC, 2024, www.rescue.org/article/crisis-gaza-what-you-need-know.
The three sources i picked are related to the current events in Gaza. Each source does not appear to have a specific point of view regarding the events but they do serve as a way to inform you on what the situation is currently like in Gaza. now in terms of believability and quality i would say its pretty valid since most of the sources are from news channels that include real life footage on the crisis in Gaza and for me that plays a huge role when it comes to their credibility.
