the convenience store is a special place after midnight... something on your mind, you wander to it like a moth

i dont pass by here a lot since i moved. once in a while, i’ll take a detour just to see the spot where we used to loiter, when the conversation couldn’t wait until tomorrow. we ate bowl noodles reanimated with hot water from the coffee machine. the spice had you sweating.

i love this place. this mundane strip mall. especially when it’s warm and wet. some dudes you knew from soccer would always pull up in a mercedes and dab you up, and i would try to look as aloof as possible to avoid having to greet them. shin ramen at 2AM. avoiding friend’s soccer-friends. patterns of my life.
