It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a Beaumont in possession of a good fortune and lots of free time, must be in want of a time traveling machine.
Case in point:
1) The Royal Masquerade (1600s)

2) The Unexpected Heiress (1913)

I'm calling it
Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor is also a variant from an alternate universe
Whether she's a variant of Jane herself or Thor I don't know though

My first thought is that we need more information and rules about the multiverse, because this is all Very Confusing and all over the place right now.
That joke aside, biologically speaking, I don't think all variants have the same DNA. The ones that look EXACTLY like each other, maybe. But the others? I don't think so. Because your looks are connected to your DNA, and if absolutely all variants shared the exact same DNA, they would all look exactly the same. And then considering how our experiences shape who we are, variants that did different things at different points in life are also not the same. I think about it this way: if I did X at one point in my life and that caused me severe trauma or gave me an insight about what I want to do with my life, then that's going to shape me. But if I did Y instead of X, then it's Y that's going to shape me. Maybe the difference between X and Y is that I woke up earlier and left home earlier. But what if that puts me on a collision path with a serial killer? Or makes me witness something I shouldn't? Formative experiences change who we are, just like DNA.
Thinking about Marvel specifically, we can talk about Classic!Loki and Boastful!Loki. After only two minutes of seeing them interact, it's absolutely clear that they're not the same person. Maybe that's just me, but this is how I think about variants. Obviously since this is not real and very much impossible (or at least until Nathaniel Richards/Kang of the 31st century makes it possible for us haha) it's not simple to define how such a thing would work in real life. But I see a lot of people comparing variants to twins (which I don't agree with) and honestly, as someone who is both related to twins and friends with several pairs of twins, they are also not the same person at all. Twins usually get mad if you don't remember which twin you're talking to, and pretty much all pairs that I met hate to be treated like they're the very same person with the same thoughts and hopes and fears.
Back to Marvel, I do believe that Peni and Ham and Gwen and all the others are variants of the same being. Alligator!Loki is there to prove that a completely random and non-human being can be a variant of a human being. And if he exists and is 100% a Loki, why wouldn't Ham be 100% a Spider Man? I think that maybe the "rule" could be something like what you said — they're equivalents of each other in their own realities, and that's what makes them variants. I really don't know at this point, haha. BUT either way, I don't think they're all the same person at all, because that would erase the idea of the multiverse. If they're all exactly the same, everyone in every universe would behave the same way and follow the same path. You know?
It's Very Late where I live right now and brains are usually Very Weird late at a night, BUT hear me out.
Considering what we know about the Marvel multiverse now... And what we had known for a while... And thinking specifically about the Spiderverse... Spider Gwen is a variant of whoever is the prime Spider Man (or Spider Woman or whatever) right? I was thinking, the only Gwen we know so far (besides Spider Gwen) is the Gwen that Andrew Garfield's Peter loves. And considering there are millions of universes out there now, Spider Gwen definitely exists in one of them. And. And if Andrew!Peter ever found her, you can't tell me he wouldn't love her any less. So like. Would that be like Loki and Sylvie? Two variants of the same being that for some reason love each other?
Phew, that's out there now. Hopefully my brain can shut up now. Because it won't stop thinking about this.

Hmmm, although that DOES make sense, I think Spider Gwen is a variant of Prime Spider because of what we see in the Spiderverse film. She glitches and experiences pain like the other Spiders. And when we consider that technically every single Spider there is a variant of each other, that has to include her.
Thinking about Loki, I'm not sure the reason some of them have different appearances is because Loki is a shapeshifter. Just think about Alligator!Loki. He would have shifted back to a human form at some point if he could. Classic!Loki or Kid!Loki, who are essentially his best friends, would definitely have seen him at a human form if it was possible. Plus why in the world would a human Loki eat their neighbor's cat? Haha Plus, I think it's established now that Tobey!Peter, Andrew!Peter, and Tom!Peter are also all variants of the same being. Peter is DEFINITELY not a shapeshifter and still looks different in alternate universes, so this argument can't apply to him.
Honestly it's all very confusing!

The one thing that makes me sad when I think about Loki......
....is knowing that he's never going to meet Sara Lance and Lucifer Morningstar aka the greatest bi disasters ever

Well fuck. I decided to check Loki's tag and now I feel like I traveled back in time to Once Upon A Time's early seasons where every fucking one was bickering over captain swan and swan queen and come ooooooooon. Why fight each other when we can ship all the ships and just be excited about characters we love???? Loki/Mobius is great! Loki/Sylvie is also great! Romantic relationships are great! Friendships are great! Seriously, COME ON.
~edit: you know what. I have more to say. It's fucking Pride Month and Loki is now canonically both bi AND genderfluid. It's AMAZING that it's now canonically possible for him to be in a relationship with Mobius or Sylvie or anyone he wants. Like what the fuck. This is HUGE. We should be celebrating more instead of starting ship wars!!!

Watching Nancy Drew and not really sure what hurts the most:
- Lucy dying while believing that Ryan never loved her, when he would actually keep loving her twenty years after she passed;
- The English woman never understanding what went wrong, why Odette would "marry" a dude and give up on starting their life together, and how she probably died without ever knowing her girlfriend was actually murdered.
Guys, this show hurts me SO much

Ozai dies while Zuko is still in recovery. The investigation is relentless, but a killer is never found, until the new Fire Lord Iroh finally, in a mournful tone that only some believe, puts a stop to it. There are rumors of foul play on his end. No one dares to speak them.
What they don’t know:
Iroh is sitting by Zuko’s bedside, unable to look at the bandages around his eye without shaking, when Azula enters clean of blood but for the still-wet splatter on her clothes. She doesn’t acknowledge his presence at all, as she coos her to her brother’s unconscious body, “You’re safe now, Zuzu. I took care of it.”
No other words are exchanged in the room that day. Azula is eleven years old and cleverer than everyone in the palace, with friends as protective and dangerous as her, and Iroh has never seen eye-to-eye with her niece, but he at least understands this.
Zuko asks about his father only once.
Azula lies.

What if Beth was never supposed to have died? Like Hannah just broke her leg and got a few scratches.
What if Beth was supposed to have survived with only minor injuries, but that just wouldn't do? Death needs/wants more souls, after all. And Blackwood was the perfect place to reap a million souls. Except people kept surviving. So maybe Beth was a consolation prize that set major events in motion.
Idk I just like this headcanon so much okay
I know we all agree on the theory that the Curator is Death, but hear me out I have a new headcanon
I want to start by saying fuck you to Supermassive Games for making me become so obsessed with Little Hope in a level that it's almost like I was with Until Dawn. Like. I'm obsessed. One hundred percent.
With that out of the way, I was thinking a lot about the Curator. And not just about his ass. Anyway, I was thinking about how he seems worried about an overseer or superior that keeps him from doing whatever the heck he wants.
It seems to me that the presence of the player is his punishment in a way, and that he must have interfered in someone's life/death significantly before. Which brings me to new headcanon! What if the Curator interfered before... During Until Dawn? What if Hannah was supposed to have starved, but he helped her find another option? It seems to me like something he'd do. Hannah would then be spared for a bit to cause mayhem, and she would get him some new souls along the way. I can totally see how he'd find it all very amusing, too.
Following this line of thought, I've also decided that whoever is the Curator's superior also forbade him from messing with the supernatural again after that, hence the lack of monsters in all stories so far.

My friend and I were playing Little Hope and we noticed something really neat
We played Until Dawn together a bazillion times, and we were talking about how realistic it is that Emily uses her phone's flashlight for less than an hour and then the battery is gone.
But in Little Hope, they keep using their flashlights pretty much the entire game and their phones still have battery left somehow. And when the ending slaps us in the face, it makes so much sense. Like, why would Anthony's delusions include something so impractical like their phones dying? I think it's just another pretty neat clue of what's truly going on in the game.
