Erm i have a question!!! Hows mtt’s relationship w his cousins in the mttv au??! What do they think abt him getting W that old man lol

I Talked about them a little here but I will elaborate more… especially on their old man Opinions… hehe

They don’t live together but they’re close, Napstablook is likely closer to both of them though. With Mew mew still having some issues with Mettaton (and vise versa if I remember the undertale alarm clock dialogue correctly)

As for tenna opinions…. Oh hoho.

I think that Napstablook realizes it’s ‘whatever makes him happy’ or mettaton scrambles away to avoid ever talking about it (it’s much more subtle now. But if anyone shows any genuine big distain or even concern he just shuts the fuck about whatever he was talking about forever. Like he finishes the conversation normal but he’ll never bring it up to that person again LOL)

But Napstablook isn’t especially worried about it anyway (not much more than they constantly are about everything) especially once they meet Tenna.

MEW MEW. She isn’t sincerely judgmental but the combo of her not being into men and therefore not understanding the appeal and her judgment of mettaton himself she’s just like. EW YUCKY PLEH!!! (Not enough to drive Mettaton off. It’s just SILLY.)

Helloooo!!! The ask about tenna's history with the dreemurrs made me realize: what's mettatons whole deal and/or backstory? Like we don't have the ghost or the robot body stuff with him, so how does he meet alphys? Are we keeping the whole dysphoria and 'not having the right body'? (beams him with my transgender ray.) What's his relationship with his family like? sorry if this is unorganized, didn't really know how to word this one, keep up the amazing work!!!! I'm loving everything about this au!! :3

BUT ANYWAY LOL. He had agoraphobia inducing levels of dysphoria pre-transition ( though , I don’t think that level of dysphoria just goes away completely post transition. He’s way better now but it still bites him sometimes) but I think he’d go out every once and a while (accompanied by Napstablook typically)

I Like to imagine him and Alphys had a sort of a platonic meet-cute in a video rental store. Like going for the same movie when there’s only one left or something tee hee. And they end up watching it together at Mettaton’s and forming a pseudo human fan club (more of a film/show Fanclub. They watch movies and tv together idk LOL)

I struggle making an equivalent to her LITTERALLY designing and making his body… but the idea that she just drew him as an anime boy once or something and then he had a moment like… wait… what if I did that…. And she tells him it’s possible. Like…. What if her support alone builds him the same way. Guys. Is this thing on. Guys. Gripping the mic. Guys.

As for his relationship with his family, I can only really. Imagine him living with his cousins.. and I think the three of them had been living together for a while. (I don’t know where the parents are it’s one of those things I’ll have to think about) but I think that Napstablook is a bit older and was Mettaton and Mew Mew’s legal guardian for most of their tweenage - early adulthood years.

And Napstablook does their best obviously but being a sensitive pushover (no offense) and pretty young to be taking care of the two of them adds some struggle.

I think Mettaton, very opposite to how he lives his life now, spent a lot of his childhood trying his best to be easy to manage. forgettable.

There was a big strain in his relationship with his family that was nobody’s fault in particular. Suffocating himself out of pure habit, on a long term corked spiral until he met Alphys and he knew he had to change or die. The massively built fear of the feelings of it all making him feel like the only option was to vanish and come back someone else.

Currently he has come back that new person and told them everything and apologized. Mew mew still gets bitter but over all forgives him and Napstablook is very understanding and is more so sad that they couldn’t figure out how to reach out to him before he left.

ouhh. been eating at me for days and while I knowww it’s mttv not everything in the world related I have ti know sooo bad; is Tenna connected to the Dreemurr family at all? Was he perhaps a family friend or a neighbor for a while? Did Kris have any influence on his career? tenna is so neaties to think about smile. . .

AND YESS I’ve been thinking about this so much because in Deltarune his relationship to the Dreemurrs is SO SO important to his character and it’s difficult to translate when he isn’t literally their TV. (And he’s a 59 year old man and he was like. Born. Crazy. he also has parents???? weird weird)

I have an idea but it makes me want to run directly into a metal pole. LOL. but i also feel like it checks all the boxes. so. here goes.

SO. MY THOUGHT. MY HORRIBLE THOUGHT. Asgore and Toriel are just a bit older than him (i still need to do the math on alllll this) and maybe. Sometime in Tenna's very early adulthood (like. 18-21 or so) He gets kicked out of his parents house very abruptly.

This happens around the time Toriel and Asgore are together (not married quite yet) and have their house, and they let Tenna stay for a bit while he figures things out. Eventually he does and They're close as family friends after.

And when Asriel is born and Kris is adopted He's like their funny little uncle... (they probably even call him "Uncle Ant". hilarious btw) and even when he starts getting famous. He comes over for. holidays. and such. (im gonna collapse)

Once dess disappears and the marriage starts going under he takes the kids out of the house a lot. To the movies or the park or something. To give the parents a break, To get away from the fighting. Whatever they need.

Then they stop having holidays at the house. the divorce is finalized. they just don't need him as much anymore and the kids are getting older. And he's gotten busier. The calls are less frequent.

He still calls around Christmas but only Toriel really talks to him. She has to hand the phone to the kids and tell them to say hi.

it all feels so distant now.

Hey Rainer loving the Mettatenna au so far! When scrolling the tag, saw the human name ideas for Metta and may I suggest the names Montelo or Montero (both because it's not a generic white boy name and also it being a nod to Lil Nas)? Looking forward to see whatever you're cooking up next!

Hello!!! Let me say first- I ADORE your AU!!!! It is such a wonderful and specific flavor of mettatenna I love it so much… I can't wait to see more stuff about it!!!

My question, once they get together how would they navigate their relationship publicly? Would they be open about it right from the gate? Wait a while then announce it? Do they never tell the public at all and either hide it or wait for the audience to figure it out?

Also, would they have different views on being public with their relationship?

As for how they navigate everything, they are a PR NIGHTMARE the moment they start actually dating if they see a camera pointing their direction they pose with eachother immediately and they KNOW BETTER they just see a camera and are both immediately like “hehe yayyy lalala” mettatons hand around tenna’s waist, they’re smiling, throwing up peace signs… sighhhhhhh I don’t think they even have to announce it (and I don’t think they do anyway their pr are probably already dealing with enough anyway)

So. They aren’t hiding it but they also arent saying anything. Queue YouTube compilation titled something like “Mettaton and Ant being into eachother for 5 mins ‘straight’” or whatever
