Maximo wakes up to find Cassandra throwing an absolute fit in the kitchen. She’s always been a bit... eccentric but this is out of character, even for her. Was she really struggling that badly with learning to cook?

Eager to calm her, Maximo immediately made breakfast and cleaned up the plates. Cassandra deflated. She hadn’t said a word the entire time.

“Can you sit, please? We need to talk.”

“Sure. But you’re freaking me out with that serious tone...”

“Remember how we went away for that weekend? At the beach?”

“Yeah, it was great-”

“I’m almost one-hundred-percent certain we brought back a souvenir.”

“We didn’t even buy anything-” Maximo paused. He stared at her. She stared at him, worry and fear obvious. “Oh.”

They hadn’t really discussed kids. Maximo wanted them, but he wanted to be a professor with tenure, too.

“Yeah.”

After a pregnant pause, Maximo nodded. “That’s good. It is.”

“...you’re kidding.”

“No, seriously. You still haven’t figured out what you want to do and this- it’ll work out. We can make it work.”

Cassandra’s face brightened.

Maximo isn’t sure what to think when he gets a call from his younger brother. He stops by Enrique’s monochromatic bachelor pad for the first time. Usually, they meet out in the city. Enrique has and always will be secretive.

Which is why Maximo was immediately on guard when Enrique peppered him with questions about their father and his digs.

“You sure you didn’t see anything downstairs? Something... really special, maybe?”

“Were you digging through dad’s stuff? That’s messed up, even for you. Mom is still-”

Enrique waved him off. “She’ll never know. You think I’m a monster?”

“Sometimes I wonder.”

An eyeroll. So casual. As if its so easy to accept his older brother might see him as such. “It’s important, Maxi. Dad found something and I kinda need it.”

“Why?”

“I just do.”

Maximo shook his head. Forever the older brother. The pseudo-father figure. He could already feel the lecture coming. Not that it would matter. Enrique didn’t listen to anyone. “I don’t know what dad did with it.”

Enrique’s eyes narrowed. The same looked their mother conjured when she caught them in a lie. “Yeah, okay.”

Damn it. What had their father been thinking, anyway? What was Maximo supposed to do with some ancient relic? And what did Enrique, of all people, want with it? 

Probably hoping to pawn it.

notes: Enrique gets along really with Maximo and always has. But he’s still a little snake.

Maximo Jordan and Cassandra Loh ran off to the beach to elope. In the wake of his father’s death, Maximo was unwilling to waste anymore time.

They spent the weekend there, away from the worries of home.

note: ...and may have defiled that lounger while randos wandered by. WW has really gone bananas. It’s cracking me up. I swear my tuning is set low and I’ve checked my config file, too.

Samanta was shocked when Enrique turned up. She’d sent him a message, expecting no response. He seemed impossible to reach these days. But he’d arrived, Maximo not far behind him.

It was the first time all three brothers had been at the house together since they were kids. A silver lining to the dark cloud that hung over them in the wake of their father’s death.

Maximo was the one most affected. He’d been their father’s obvious favorite. It had been a source of contention between the three all their lives. Something they buried now, for their mother’s sake.

That didn’t stop Enrique from cracking jokes at Maximo’s expense, however. Javier was quietly horrified. He’d always thought Enrique was a little... different from the rest of them. Stonehearted. Aiden had just been careless, but Enrique? It made Javier shiver.

notes: Javier is so much younger than the other two. I was hesitating on his house because of Aiden’s death. He’s close to YA now though.

R.I.P. Aiden Jordan

My first favorite sim in this save. He lived incredibly well for being stuck on a lot with little-to-no power or water. The first of my sims to complete Selvadorada and both aspirations tied to it. Sims in this save for will forever turn to ‘Womb Raiding: Tales of Archeology’ for hot tips.

Aiden Jordan has been feeling a little more sluggish than usual. There’s this exhaustion that he can’t quite shake. It’s frustrating for a guy so used to being active.

Unfortunately, it comes to a head one morning. He’s walking and then... he isn’t. Samanta doesn’t notice immediately, convinced he’s playing around. It wouldn’t be the first time he’s messed with her.

It doesn’t take long for her to realize it isn’t a trick.

Maximo’s gift is a puppy. Javier is overjoyed. He loves animals.

Luna settles into the household nicely. Both Javier and Samanta enjoy how Luna follows them around. Aiden is impartial. He vaguely remembers having a dog as a child... but it isn’t something he’s overly into.

notes: things will be slowing down a bit. Diablo 2 remaster drops soon and I’ll be playing with friends. Trying to get some quality sims time in before that happens!

Maximo drops by his parent’s house with a plan. Javier greets him eagerly, always happy to see his eldest brother. Despite the age disparity, they’d always gotten along well.

Javier is the reason Maximo has made the trip, after all. But first he feels the need to clear his surprise with their mother. She’s accepting, of course...

They don’t bother disturbing Aiden downstairs. He isn’t really keen on being bothered by trivial things.

notes: I feel like it’s been an eternity since we’ve seen Maximo but he aged so much during Uni I’ve been trying to catch everyone else up!

Javier Jordan is used to his parents being obnoxious around him. Honestly, he’s mostly just learned to block it out. With all the death lately, it’s nice to see they can still find some joy.

So long as that joy stays behind closed doors and Javier can go outside where he doesn’t have to hear it..

notes: WW updated and... I don’t know what happened but even with my tuning settings, my sims are HEATED. pray for Javier.

Alex Endo takes what money his parents left him and moves out to the desert. He lives humbly. A mobile home alongside the river is all he needs. He spends his time with his cats, writing songs. 

Rose stops by, when she can. Usually when she’s playing shows in the area. She’s always horrified when she sees him.

“You’re still in your pajamas? When’s the last time you left the house?”

“Ugh, Rose. I’m fine. Quit worrying.”

“You’re becoming one of those crazy hermits. How many cats are you up to now?”

“Don’t you have a show to go play?”

“Sure, but I gotta make sure my baby brother isn’t on the fast-track to loserville first.”

It seems like Alex Endo has aged overnight thanks to the consecutive deaths of both of his parents. It had barely been a week! His big sister, Rose, comes over to try and help sort out the belongings.

Alex doesn’t want the house. He wants to move far, far away.

“I found this photo. It’s of you and mom. Figured you might want it.”

“Aw, thanks. But you didn’t have to start going through stuff alone-”

“...it’s okay. I know it’s a long drive from the city. Come on. Let’s get started.”

R.I.P. Olivia (Jordan) Endo

You were my first sim born in this save and you were a hot mess from start to finish. Half the drama wouldn’t have been possible without you and that weird grudge you held against your mother for years just because she traded a chicken.

Olivia Jordan meets with her brother, Aiden, to discuss the funeral preparations for Kazuya. She’s been locked up inside her house, trying and failing to deal with her grief.

Unfortunately, coming out seems to be too much for her, as she collapses on the floor. 

notes: only Olivia would have the audacity to die in the middle of brunch.

Kazuya Endo passes in the middle of the night. Olivia is shocked when she wakes up to hear him gasping for breath.

The following morning is rough.

notes: prepare for the death train. choo choo.

“YOU again. Ugh!”

“Ouch. That hurts.”

“Is there no where in this city safe?”

“Nope. I’m everywhere.”

And he is. It’s not a joke. Enrique’s bosses have him hacking traffic cams. He’s in the banks, the businesses. He’s got the personnel files of a fortune 500, complete with the CEO’s private, very personal emails. Never mind the voice clip he’s got saved for later when it’s time to pay the bills.

But Ali doesn’t know that. He knows her name because he found her, finally, after hours of searching. She’s an unknown, basically. Very little social media presence. Boring and normal. So not his speed.

But she’s everywhere he is and it’s becoming maddening.

Not that he’ll let her know that.

notes: i’ve never really had a sim react so heavily to crush sentiment. it’s hilarious. And Ali is having none of it. Their friendship bar is high but romance? nah. but their attraction scores are high.

The wedding and reception go well, all things considered.

“Watch out with all that love stuff. You’ll end up old and boring before you know it.” No one would ever accuse Rose’s uncle Aiden of being a romantic.

“Ignore him, Rose. He’s just bitter.” Olivia counters, rolling her eyes.

Rose and Ezekiel aren’t the only lovebirds nearby. 

“Uh, should we tell them to take it somewhere private?”

“Nah. I overheard Enrique plotting something. Let’s sit back and watch what happens.”

Poor Zeke is still trying to understand the family dynamics...
