Find meaning. Distinguish melancholy from sadness. Go out for a walk. It doesn't have to be a romantic walk in the park, spring at its most spectacular moment, flowers and smells and outstanding poetical imagery smoothly transferring you into another world. It doesn't have to be a walk during which you'll have multiple life epiphanies and discover meanings no other brain ever managed to encounter. Do not be afraid of spending quality time by yourself. Find meaning or don't find meaning but "steal" some time and give it freely and exclusively to your own self. Opt for privacy and solitude. That doesn't make you antisocial or cause you to reject the rest of the world. But you need to breathe. And you need to be.
Albert Camus, from Notebooks 1951-1959

I've been in this weird liminal space where I'm starting to post things I'm proud of accomplishing on my stories on social media...it feels a bit like I'm only going on there to brag....but honestly it's like finally i'm doing something that feels it's worth sharing...and yet -- no words can really convey how deeply frustrating it is that it took this long to stop making excuses and begin setting goals, creating, ebbing, flowing, accepting myself to let myself begin to bloom after ripping all the petals off whenever they'd grow, shut my eyes and see a rich inner world of blooming flowers -- but as soon as something would show -- cut it off.
It's so unfair to be stuck inside of a body that literally wants to protect you but in turn stifles and hurts you and keeps you from being yourself because it's afraid - of getting hurt.....that the world won't care or will find you to be too much for them.....or cringe, or insane.
it's gotten to the point that i've accepted this narrative of like, "i'm going to die young and not reproduce so this is it for me and my lineage.....at least, from my end of things. so that must mean i show all my grit - this could be...it. for me."

“When I try to picture for myself what a happy life might look like, the picture hasn’t changed very much since I was a child—a house with flowers and trees around it, and a river nearby, and a room full of books, and someone there to love me, that’s all.”
— Sally Rooney, Beautiful World, Where Are You

“Poor things” was a really refreshing film.
It felt like something you want to strap your ex down to a chair and force them to watch — or maybe your ex wrote the screenplay and let you in on the secret that you’re forgiven for sharing your body — in fact, it is your prerogative to do so.
It’s your own choice to be willing to do what it takes to have your freedom.
I don’t think I’ve ever thoroughly enjoyed a character and their development more than Emma Stone’s in this role.
