Intimacy On This Side of the Veil

Encountering Loki’s raw sexuality from Day One of our relationship has been no walk in the park. Steeped in taboo five miles wider than the community that does its best to hold space for it, Loki and I’s interactions have many a time left me wondering if there is anything lacking in my mundane life to seek warmth and intimacy from outside consensus reality. The answer to that question isn’t straightforward, and doesn’t exactly have a place in this discussion.

The point being. You deserve. If you choose to reach for it, you deserve a divine connection, and no one can take the parameters of your experience away from you. For a long time I myself let the accounts of the growing Lokean community colour my perception of what it means to devote, and what it means to experience the unique brand of love Loki has for each of His own.

So let me just come out with it. You don’t have to make a pledge in order to have a meaningful or even romantically coloured relationship with a divine being. And there’s nothing wrong with or broken about you for being genuinely curious about the latter.

By nature of trickster energy, a sensual God is who Loki is. And it’ll be up to you BOTH what you do with that energy should you face it. Flame it for yourself or deflect it towards something just as creative. Perhaps you’ll move the way of oaths and dedication eventually. More people will not, you’ll find. It’s not anyone else’s business but your own.

Loki has taught me that it IS possible to encourage a healthy intimacy without the commitment of a formal partnership or marriage.

All that matters is that you walk the path of discernment with a concoction that honours your personal psychology, your mental health, and the symbiotic enrichment of the relationship you’re entering into.

To enter intimacy with the divine doesn’t mean putting on a veil. In fact, while my love for Loki runs bone-deep and ever deeper, I have chosen to stay on this side of that veil for now. 

Honour yourself and He will honour you.

Hey all!

I don’t normally post my writing on this blog, as I mostly write fanfiction for the MCU and whatnot.  However, a while ago the seed was planted to write a story involving Loki (the Norse god) and his wife Sigyn and the start of their relationship. I’ve been very hesitant to write it out of fear of not doing them justice, as I work with both of them in my day to day life.

Today I was nudged and I sat down and wrote the first chapter of the story. It’s being published on AO3 because it’s a free source so that anyone can read it, making it accessible. (And also because that’s where I post all my writing.)

The premise is that this is what the beginning of their relationship looked like, as seen through the eyes of Sigyn. Not a lot is known of her, so this mostly comes from my experience working with her. It’s a fairly fun write and a fun read, and I’m really pleased with how this first chapter turned out.

Hey all, remember when ‘Heathen’ was trademarked and it was super infuriating?

Well that stunt is getting pulled again. Someone who isn’t even a heathen is trying to trademark ‘Forn Sidr’ and is going after Forn Sidr of America for it.

I cannot emphasize enough how absolutely buckwild this story is. Even if you don’t donate to help FSoA cover legal fees, at least click through to read about the tea.

I have used a small drawstring bag as an altar cloth with two battery powered tea lights as candles, when I'm on the go. Just left the offering out overnight, then disposed in the morning and turned out the lights. x)

I’m going to college next year, and I want to be able to connect with Norse deities while I’m there. I feel like it’ll be the best place to do so, since my parents won’t be around (I mean, I’ll have a roommate, but I’ll deal with that once the time comes).

HOWEVER, most colleges don’t allow you to burn candles. My first choice college will even take the candle away if it has an unused wick in it.

So, how should I lay out offerings and connect with the deities if I can’t burn candles? I know that there are other ways, but I don’t know what they are. Do I NEED a candle?? I’m so confused...

(Also, I have never contacted a deity before. I want to start when I get to college. Just wanted to make that clear)

Mood.

I used to be really elitist and thought that everybody was stupid except for me, but then I grew up and gained some humility and realized that everybody is stupid including me

Last year I decided I wanted to have a Loki themed birthday party for 2020, given I almost share a birthday with fool's day. The lessons I've learned from him are coming into clearer focus this month, as chaos has caused me to reflect more on balance and change.

I won't be having the birthday party I planned. But then again, when do things ever go quite as we assume, with Loki? x)

I feel hope that there will be new beginnings on the other side of this chaos.

This might be effectively dark but... I’m just going to say it.

Just a note that this is about the COVID-19 stuff so... do what you want.

I can’t help but to think of the gods during times like right now. It’s almost completely a Loki move for things like broken systems to be revealed and laid bare during a time of emergency. It’s almost the perfect storm. Not everyone will die but a lot of people will if these broken systems don’t fix themselves during this time. The tiny threads that hold our economy together are going to shatter. The lack of empathy in the upper middle to upper class people who can work from home is evident.

All of the issues that have been covered up by capitalistic tendencies, illusions of stability and the need for material things have been mercilessly shoved to the forefront and now there is chaos.

In these times, I think it’s important to think of Loki in his worldbreaker aspect.

In these moments, He’s not pretty. He’s not comforting. He’s not lovey-dovey. He’s not your best friend who hops in to steal your snacks. He’s the exposure of everything that no longer serves this world. He’s the whirlwind of uncertainty to make us stand up for ourselves and create change! This is the aspect so many people love to avoid until you fucking can’t anymore. And folks, as lokeans, we cannot and should not ignore this.

This isn’t me being you should be scared of the god you hold near and dear, rather, you should fucking listen to him and listen to the gods now more than ever because I can fucking bet that they’ve been warning us of this for years. There’s a reason they’re more prominent now more than ever. There’s a reason they’ve called all these people to worship. It’s time to make change. It’s time to do things instead of sit on our butts and talk about it like the religious majority in this country and in countries around us. We are pagans. We are orthopraxic. We put our money where our mouth is.

It is more important, now than ever, to be a lokean. It’s time for change. It’s time to do what’s right. It’s time to call out these broken systems as Loki has. Because he can only do so much and it’s already almost too late.

Don’t lay on your back now and let these things pass you by.

Take this virus seriously. If you have the means, give to people who need it. If you don’t have the means, say something. Correct misinformation. Educate your damn self about what’s really going on here. Shatter the illusions. You are far more powerful than you give yourself credit for.

Help with a spell to help me stay stable while visiting family?

Going to visit loving but not very understanding family soon, and I'm trying to bolster myself to be okay - whether I can avoid hot button subjects or not, while also having the energy to, yk, be myself.

I'm wanting to make basically a bubble of protection infused with self love (so hard heh), standing ground, and peace. I'm such a very new #babywitch, and only done one spell before now.

I think it's a matter of thinking of materials to represent my intent, and then maybe putting them together in a physical form like a charm?

Any suggestions for materials or how to go about this would be ever so appreciated o.o

I love Sigyn anyway, but this strikes me as inspiration to keep up with my workouts - as a form of compassion for myself, and seeing myself as someone to bear weight for.

To Wield A Bowl

Loki burns

He sets your muscles on fire
