      ⚜️ A slight grinding of teeth could be heard between the silence of man and elf. The constant flux of power between the two sides has never been great but even as both sides burned due to the same enemy at hand Foltest was still inraged. It mattered not if the other knew that he took to anger perhaps that’s just what he was looking for. A brash action and reason that the two would continue fighting. 

           “I’m aware that the time of apologies is long since past. Blood has been spilled and far greater then any King can claim penance on. To even ask of favors or understanding is downright laughable to you and your people but in the end, we both know there is no peace for either of us if this continues. Not with a new threat. ” Chances far greater than any he ever took. It was easy to take a blade to the rebels, after all, he’d been killing their kind for years. His secret opts did it for fun even. 

          A truce, an alliance. It was a wound to his pride when it was brought to him for a probability to the Dark Ones almost on his doorstep once more. Maria had offered to speak with the elves herself but the King knew better than to let the knight take such action. That and why would they take the lip serves of a knight when words meant more in person. It wasn’t as if he didn’t have a plan if things turned sour, however. 

            “We ask that you think about the pain that you’ve already suffered through these many years. Picking up the pieces and finding common ground has been intentional but words speak more than arrows and swords. Vizima has always been an open home to elves and other creatures alike. It can continue to spread what good practices it has but there are no chances when an enemy only wishes to crush everything in its sights....” The blond knight spoke up, there was sparks in those haunting blue hues of hers, “ The Empire uses and kills your brothers as if they’re but playthings......we only ask we come to an agreement.” ⚜️

    ⚜️ The King was known to be patient when it came to hard times, the only trouble now was how many liked to keep their lips locked. It wasn’t as if he was a tyrant like the rest of the Northern Kings were becoming. He let many things slide within his lands to let people thrive, it was a folly on his part that taking from his lands many enacted what they thought was ‘his’ words and views. 

          He was only eased from his ire by the blond knight at his side as she lay a hand down next to his at the meeting table. Yes, conversation before threats in times such as these. The continent was becoming more and more split by the day after all and if not for Maria to remind him that human or non-human these were still his people. 

           Clearing his throat again he tried to keep his demands on track but it was still hard to anyone ears, “ Explanations make guilty men free. To oppose is to hold guilt and I do wish no more misunderstandings are had. It's a simple request for every man. Once more. Why make camp on my outskirts I’ve made bargains with the elves once before or is not my coin or trade you wish of any longer?”

           Everything went to the highest bidder after all and since he wasn’t burning the non-human in the streets like Redania; he thought that the rebels would be less of a thorn in his side.  ⚜️
