"To prevent you from getting that sickness from the contaminated ectoplasm in college."
He lowered the cup before he tilted his head.
"It was back when you also got his friends sick... That aside, you're better off now than you would have been marrying her."
He took a long sip from his tea again before he shook his head.
"Trouble seems to find you both like a magnet."
That expression brought out a slight laugh from the embodiment of time, and he tilted his head before he nodded.
"Good... It's better for both of us if you refrain from tampering with the time stream again. Daniel once snuck through and made a timeline where you did manage to marry Maddie by accident... He's lucky he was able to fix that mess himself."
Or Clockwork definitely would have probably tried to kick his ass again—
He had enough of a headache normally—
"It's funny, though... Every time something happens to disrupt time, it's one of you two—"

"The Tower is open to you... As long as you keep your hands off my equipment."
He gave an almost teasing look...
"I had to fix enough of your time meddling when you got your hands on that damn map, Plasmius—"
He pointed at him before he covered his mouth to avoid laughing—
"You should be glad I fixed that... Or there'd be statues of Plasmius in the Greek style in museums."

He chuckled slightly before he nodded, a faint smile playing on his lips before he looked up.
"Or... perhaps, I was lonely in that old tower."
And Dan's company, thermos or not... Was a balm on his core.
"The Masters of Space vanished a long time ago... My Tower has been rather empty ever since."

"Correction, he didn't kill them. It was a coincidence, an accident... But, it's not my story to tell, and if he tells you that's entirely up to him."
He took another sip before he looked down at the liquid in his cup.
"I could have destroyed Dan when we captured him after the escaped his timeline... But for some reason, I didn't. I don't understand it myself... Perhaps I'm growing soft."
He rubbed his chin—
"I'm suppose to not care who lives or who dies. Impartial. Yet..."

"Agreed..."
He underestimated Danny when he first met him, himself... Despite knowing the future...
"I was ordered to kill young Daniel... Back when I first met him. Because of the future Dan belonged to... But I was curious about him. I underestimated him myself... I was curious if he could truly change his future if he saw for his own eyes what he planned to do might cause... The Butterfly Effect is a mysterious thing."
He fixed himself a second cup of tea, then he took a sip before he spoke again.
"Who knew something as silly as cheating on the Career Aptitude Test could snowball into the death of everyone he ever cared about..."
That was a soft mutter... Pity filled his tone. Was that why he saved Danny, rather than kill him like he was told?
"What's truly odd is that they said nothing of you. You were instrumental in his birth, yet... It was only Danny they wanted me to target."

"I'm sure you could have hacked the systems yourself, but..."
Tampering with Timelines was simple enough for him... And what he did didn't change any past or future events. Dan existed regardless of his legal status.
"I simply wished to lend a hand... For me, such a thing is a simple matter. This doesn't affect the past or the future, since all I did was speed up the process of you making those forms yourself."
He picked back up his tea cup, and finished off what was left.

He chuckled softly before he gave a small nod, lowering his cup from his lips.
"I thought you'd agree."
He pulled out a folder from his side bag, and held it out to Vlad... What was it? Adoption forms? Birth certificate? ... Everything he needed, dated back to when Dan would have supposably been born.
"Memories are not altered, I pulled a few strings myself... But, as of now... He exists."

"I wouldn't say it's trouble..."
He leaned over to fix himself a cup of black tea with some cream and sugar. Then he looked over at Vlad as he took a sip.
"I understand I'm asking a lot from you by asking you to take him in... I just know locking him back in a thermos may just make him worse. Any help I can provide to make sure it doesn't happen again..."
He knows... If Dan rampages a third time... He'll likely cease to exist.

"It's more impressive he was even capable of merging with me, and remaining in control."
The outcome would have been worse if Vlad did stick around, though... Clockwork knew that much. Dan likely would have also eaten Plasmius a second time.
He sat down and made a small sound of approval as he patted the seat slightly... And he glanced over at Vlad once more.
"Would you like a hand creating a proper place in this world for him? I imagine creating and..." He made a slight face as he made a small shrugging motion, "...legalizing his existence is difficult."

"The choice was actually young Daniel's... He chose this Timeline. Though, I feel as if... something slipped through the cracks."
His brow furrowed before he shook his head, and he turned to look at Vlad with a tired expression... But—
"Tea— It's been a while since I've had a human meal... I wouldn't mind trying something if you're willing to prepare it."
His hand moved to his chin as he thought for a few moments... Something slipped between the cracks of the fractured timeline... And he couldn't see it. It bothered him— But he can't do much about it until he's at full power again.
"Dan really did a number on me, though I did expect it."

"Yes, of course—"
He stepped inside, glancing around before he looked over at Vlad, humming softly... Then he put his hands behind his back.
"You may call me Kairos while I'm here... Truth be told, I needed a break... There's a lot to fix after Dan ran rampant with my power. I may have all the time in the world, but I still get tired."
Especially since he had yet to fully recover himself... He was tired. Quite tired.
"I can check in with Phantom later... How are you doing?"

He smiled slightly as he pulled a pocketwatch from his waistline, and he opened it, checking the time. It had that familiar CW etched into the lid... It was tucked away before his arms went behind his back.
"Vlad, it's been a while, hasn't it?"
Tooth gap and all—
"I was just stopping by to check in, see how things have been going— After all, I trusted you with a pretty big deal."
He could have easily kept watch from his tower, yet he showed up at Vlad's door...

He had a lot to fix, and a lot to do... But he also couldn't shake the feeling... He had to check in. He wasn't at his strongest still, so he could use a break to recharge himself, yes?
He checked one of his screens before he tapped his staff, a portal opening before he moved to exit the Ghost Zone. This was a break, hopefully Vlad won't mind... He adjusted his sleeves as his appearances shifted and changed, boot-clad feet touching down just outside the elder Hybrid's door, and one dark tan hand knocked quickly.
Long white hair was in a braid over his shoulder, and one eye was scarred closed, but the other was a deep red shade still... But human.
"I know he's home..."
