Embracing butch as my gender, not just my sexuality type, and also reading forcebutch/forcemasc content on here, has made me so much more comfortable in my masculinity—in ways I never thought possible.

I want to get so fucking big and strong, show off my arms to everyone while my lovely femme clings to them, and I’m working hard every day to achieve the body of a brutish bull. I want arms big enough that she can bite and kiss and lick and worship. I love my body hair—it’s not too much, but also not too little. I love masculine terms, almost never want feminine terms used for me now. I love manspreading snd taking up space.

I love when she runs her hand along my happy trail and my unshaven bush. I love my short hair and when she runs her claws through the fade, working her way into my fuller hair up top. I love when she calls me a good boy. I love referring to myself as her boyfriend, a boydyke, a gentleman. I love holding the door for her, opening the car door for her first, carrying all the bags, taking care of her the way a butch should for her femme.

I love wearing muscle tees during my workouts that show off the progress my body is making. I love wearing masculine clothes. I love my leather jacket, it’s my armor on top of my muscles. I need more piercings and my whole body covered in tattoos.

I want to look intimidating to men, protect the queer community around me, and hold my femme in my powerful arms.

I love being a transfem butch dyke. I love being her guard dog. I love being masculine as a trans woman. I love being something that confuses people.

Kuromi from Sanrio is intersex and bisexual, and her variations are Non-classic Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (NCAH) and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)! Similarly to My Melody she also wears her hat due to her fur falling out from her variations, and is very comfortable in her masculinity!

I promise I am asking this in good faith, but as someone who is afaik a perisex transmasc but was forced on feminizing hrt for 'being too hairy for a woman' after my mom kept insisting I MUST have PCOS like my sister does and doctors finding jack but still taking issue with my middle eastern ass being too hairy anyways, am I allowed to use the flag because of racialized forced HRT or was this made specifically for intersex people only? I'm not sure how common an experience mine is but I know of at least one other person with my experience (south asian instead of middle eastern though).

I’m going to be very honest with you, anon. I had to sit on this ask for a bit, mainly because part of my HRT was also racially motivated! So just know you aren’t alone and I take this ask in good faith✨

However, I do wanna make a couple of things clear:

1) You don’t need to have cysts to meet the diagnostic criteria for hyperandrogenic PCOS aka doctors could find nothing on an ultrasound but hyperandrogenic PCOS shows up in different ways. (For me personally, it was through my hormone levels.)

2) If you aren’t intersex then this flag isn’t for you at the end of the day. Your experiences were really awful and it shouldn’t have happened but this particular flag was made with intersex survivors of forced HRT specifically in mind.

I’m a butch sapphic with PCOS so I decided to make a flag for it!

The two teal stripes represent PCOS alongside the orange stripes from the OG butch pride flag!

The teal ring (PCOS) and the orange ring (butch identity) overlapping represents how having PCOS can influence butch identity in a way where the two coexist and actually often intersect!

Forced HRT Survivor Flag

I was debating posting something so vulnerable but I’ve made more peace with this part of my life so I’ve decided to share this flag I made.

I’m a survivor of forced HRT. In other words, I was put under HRT that I didn’t fully agree to all in the name of me maintaining society’s perisex views of femininity. (Thankfully I’ve taken full control of my medical care and am feeling much better <3)

The budding rose in the middle alongside the petals falling from it represent forced change yet still remaining beautiful and whole all the same.

While undergoing forced HRT, it was very hard for me to stay alive due to the disabling side effects of hormones I wasn’t supposed to be on so I added a heart rate symbol. Lastly I made it purple due to it being a more gender neutral color.

the intersex community saying "PCOS can be intersex" is NOT saying you have to identify as such if you have PCOS! if someone tries to force this on you theyre in the wrong! identifying as intersex is a complex decision that only you can make.

what we are saying is that PCOS tends to cause a natural, physical difference in both someones gonads (ovaries) and primary sex hormones (T and E)!

if you intend to push back against the notion that PCOS can be intersex, please consider:

do you think being intersex is something to be ashamed of? (this is intersexism.)

do you think PCOS being considered intersex is invalidating its status as a disability? (a lot of intersex variations are disabling.)

do you think PCOS being considered intersex is saying that they are not "real women"? (this is intersexist. people with intersex variations that cause hyperandrogenism who identify as women are still "real women".)

do you think being intersex is being "between sexes"? (there are a lot of intersex variations that cause traits that are outside of the sex binary entirely rather than causing ambiguous traits, and whether or not an intersex person identifies themselves as both, in-between, or neither sex is up to them, not someone else. intersex people can still consider themselves full females or males, their intersex variation does not affect that choice.)

you have a right to express your discomfort with other people trying to force a label on you that you did not ask for! you do NOT have a right to be intersexist to our community and tell other people that their identification is wrong.
