Lore + For Ace bby!

It's hard for Ace to imagine that he will ever live up too or surpass his parents. His father keeps the community safe being a police officer and his mother is a judge and only continuing to raise in the ranks. For the longest time, he feared the only way to do any better was to go into the military and while the thought of being surrounded by so many strong men was tantalizing... he didn't have the heart to do that. Even now, he feels like wasted potential in his social work position, like he's not doing nearly enough to change the world.

I used to have another OC on this blog - Daller. His full name is actually Ashkii Dighin Huaman. He's a Native American "zombie" that escaped a cult and now spends his time hunting dangerous supernaturals. He's an old and tired man but his job gives him purpose and so he'll keep going as long as his body keeps going. He'll rest when he's allowed rest.

What do I gotta do to show Noble he is the specialist and my favorite lil thing ever? (Aka: what is his love language and what does his perfect day look like?)

Honestly, Noble's love language is words for affirmations. He can be very narrow focused and unable to pick up on subtleties when it comes to being loved. He has spent all his life telling himself that he's not only a bad person, but a monster, and that he will never have love because of that. He needs to be sat down and held, his eyes looked into, and told under no uncertain circumstances that he is wholly and truly loved.

He really likes quiet activities, so doing things like going to a museum and on a small, quiet picnic and being given PDA makes him really happy. He really likes when he pretends he doesn't want to hold hands and his partner holds it anyways for example. He just needs to be reminded that he's not only worthy of love, but worthy of being someone's future and their everything.

He had earned a 96 on his grammar test and that wasn't anywhere near good enough. His mother would throw an absolute fit when he walked in with the test and his father would be too exhausted to even speak to him. He had tried his hardest! He just couldn't understand what an adverb was and when to use it. Why did things have to be so hard? And why did he have to live up to his parents when they were already so great?

Had his body been reset since the last time he had one? Did it matter? He wanted one so bad right now. "Bein' older means seein' your parents as people and it means feelin' so tired. I know what it's like to be an addict now and what it's like to need to be taken care of. My sister -- Alex -- shouldn't have had to do that for her. They both should've had a life outside the booze and cigarettes and who knows what else. I mean, Ma probably didn't even know what was goin' on, she spent so much of her life asleep or at work. Whatever. It's stupid. She'll never get that time back and I'll never get my childhood back."
