Take A Step (You can’t take back) Oikawa Tooru X Reader
You were walking by the sidewalk, clutching your bag as though your life depended on it. But the truth is, you are grabbing it so hard because it is the only way you can focus on striding among the crowd without breaking down. You were barely holding it together. You want to cry and lie down while shouting profanities because God, you just got you heart broken by the man you love. "Curse them both," you whisper. It started raining, much to your dismay. Looks like you the sky is doing the crying for you. Suddenly, the cold doesn't even bother you. Truth is, it even comforts your numb being. - - - - - Oikawa Tooru is a charming guy. He smiles and everybody drops on their knees and worship him. He can throw and insult and would still sound like a compliment. But despite his smiles and good guy act, you were the first to notice that he is a very lonely guy. He was reading by the library, some girls from the other tables openly gawk at her. Honestly, you don't even know why you're taking notice of him. Sure, your twin sister has a huge crush on him and much to her dismay, it was you who was put in the same class as him. And as much as you want to get back at your sister for stealing your long-time crush back in middle school, you decided against it. You won't be like her. You look away from him. You hear some girls bidding him goodbye while leaving the lib. He smiles and waves back at them with a wink. A few minutes later, you find yourself walking up to him. "Isn't it hard?" you say. He flash that million-dollar worth smile and ask, "What is?" "Pretending to be happy and nice all the time." You retort. You notice a slight twitch in his left eyebrow but he retains the smile. "I don't know what you're talking about, (Name)-chan. We've been in the same class since last year and now that you decide to speak to me this is what you say?" "That's 'cause you never talk to me," you think, but hold back. Instead you continued to stare at the beautiful man before you. "Hmm? Do you need something from me, (Name)-chan? Perhaps a help with the lesson? Or are you finally gonna ask me out? Didn't know you like doing the first move, (Name)-chan." He teases you with a smile that will melt anyone's heart. "Ha-ha. Seriously, Oikawa-san, you can drop the act. I know you're wearing a mask. I understand. It's hard to show everyone the real you, the dark and ugly side--" "(Name)-chan." He interrupts. "I don't know what you're talking about." Oh. So he doesn't like showing people his true feelings. But he doesn't like it more when someone points it out to him. Alright. "Oh-kay. If you need someone to talk to, I might be here." "Might be? You're supposed to say you're always here." "Nah. What if I'm not? Then that would make me a liar" This talk is non-sense, you thought. But you find yourself smiling anyway. - - - - - It was exactly 2 weeks and 4 days after your first encounter when Oikawa suddenly barged in your peaceful space at the back of the old gym. It was lunch break and you are fond of going here because it's peaceful and it gives you space to think. "(Name)-chan." Oikawa approaches. "Hmm? Do you need something from me, Oikawa-san? Perhaps a help with the lesson? Or are you finally gonna ask me out? Didn't know you like doing the first move." Throwing his words back at him. You can't help but laugh a little. He smiles. But not the usual bright smile he shows his fan girls. It was a sad smile. You suddenly felt a heavy atmosphere. You turned serious. "Were you telling the truth when you said I can be myself around you?" "I said I might." Trying to lighten the mood a little. He smiles, still a sad one. "Having a rough day?" you asks. "Oh you have no idea." He says, sitting beside you. Too close for your taste but you kept silent. It was that moment when you both started talking more. Secretly though. He was a shining star and you're have a 'I don't give a f*ck" reputation to uphold. He will always find you in your secret haven whenever he needed a break from reality. You saw the real Oikawa. The sad, lonely and insecure boy that tried so hard to cover it. He would tell you stories about how strong their opponents are and how he likes volleyball so much. You liked listening to his stories. He would vent our frustrations and you would listen. But some days, it is your turn to tell him the sh*ts you're also facing. Like how you're twin sister annoys the hell out of you. She's always trying to compete with you. You always try to tell her that life is not a competition but she keeps on making it seem like one. Like the time you got higher scores on the tests, or the time when your parents praised you in front of their business partners. She got so mad, she threw your favorite books in the tub and drowned it in water. "That's what you get for being such an attention-seeking b*itch!!!!!" She yells. You just let her. You try so hard to understand that maybe she feels inferior because you effortlessly glides through life unscathed. She's like Oikawa, in a way. But unlike Oikawa, she tends to focus her energy into ruining your life instead of trying to better herself. You badly want to hit her sometimes, but you just keep quiet because meh, it's hard to deal with crazy people. You tell Oikawa these stories. He sometimes laugh. Oh, not sometimes. Always. He always seemed to take delight out of your frustrations. "You really like seeing me pissed, don't you Too-chin?" You ask. Anticipating the reprimand for calling him nicknames. It didn't come. Instead, he smiles. A rare kind of smile you only saw once or twice in the whole year you've been friend secretly with him. "You're too cute when your mad, (Name)." He dropped the honorifics a long time ago. He says it's high time you call each other by your first names. You didn't mind. You like it, even. - - - - - Weeks, months, years passed. It's your last year in highschool and you're losing your mind over what to do after graduation. You plan on going to a University and Oikawa expressed his interest in going with you. "How will you survive without me?" He says when you asked if he was sure in going with you. You laughed. No one still knows you're friends. You sometimes talk in class but people just see it as normal classmates talking to each other. He lays on your lap and closed his eyes. "It's going to be my last match this year. We're facing Karasuno, Tobio's team." He says. "You'll win." You say. He doesn't say anything but you know you've given him a boost on confidence. It's been a long time since he stopped ranting about his self-doubts and insecurities. It's just that there are some things that triggers it. Like Tobio or Ushiwaka. He said they make him feel inferior. That no matter how hard he trains, because they have talent, he will always fall short. You hated it when he doubts himself. He is awesome and talented and it's a shame he can't see that. - - - - - "(Name)-chan. Let's go watch the volleyball game tomorrow!" You're surprised that you twin asked you to join her. "Why? You can go with your friends." You say even though you really are planning to go. You wouldn't miss Oikawa's final match even if the world ends. "C'mooooon nee-chan!!! Aren't you classmates with Oikawa? I always had a crush on him. Maybe you can introduce me to him now that the season is ending." She says with a little begging. Even though you hate her sometimes, you can't deny that she is still your half and you can't say no. - - - - - They lost. It was a good game, a close match up to the end. But they lost by merely 2 points. It was devastating for them. You can see the players in the court trying to hold back tears. Oikawa is stunned, by the look he is sporting you instantly know the blow he felt when he couldn't return the last shot. It was as if whatever he felt, you felt it too. You can see how he tries so hard to get through the handshakes and bowing down to the other team. You wanna hug him and comfort him and tell him that he is still the best for you. After the match, you decided to find him but your sister is still with you and she is starting to annoy you to go to Oikawa's team and introduce her to him. She don't get it at all. They just lost and her main concern is to be noticed by Oikawa? She'd always been selfish, you thought. But there's nothing more important than finding Tooru so you ignore her annoying voice. You both go to the lockers where you see the team members slowly leaves one by one until Iwaizumi approaches you and tells you that you need to talk to 'him' as if Iwaizumi knew that you were Oikawa's confidante whenever he's upset. You simply nod despite the confused look on your sister's face. "Why does Oikawa-san needs you to talk to him?" Your sister asks but you still ignored her. You enter the room and see Oikawa sitting by the benches. Sadness evident in his eyes. You want nothing more than to run to him and offer a hug but because your sister is with you, you settled for walking towards Oikawa slowly. He raises his head and sees you. He also notices your twin behind you but he pays no attention to her. "(Name)." He utters. You hear a gasp behind you. Maybe she was shocked as to the lack of honorifics in Oikawa's words. Oikawa approaches you and hugs you. You were frozen in place. You did not expect him to show weakness, especially that there is another person in the room besides the two of you. Maybe he didn't care. Your heart sank at the thought that that is how sad he is, he doesn't even care if people see you together. "Nee-san!" Your sister uttered with hardness. When you didn't move she repeated it with more force than the former. Oikawa finally takes notice of the other person in the room. He breaks from the hug and composed himself. He smiles to the both of you, the charming one. You didn't like it. "My my, you really do look alike. Don't you?" He says. Oikawa knows that your sister liked him. But your sister isn't buying any sh*t right now. She just witnessed her crush and you hug and address each other on a first-name basis. Nothing would shift her attention from that. She sharply looks at you and then Oikawa and then back at you again. Your heart pounded. But you refused to back down because once in your life, you wanted to fight for this. Even though you and Oikawa never established the line between. You're friends. But you also know that there's a more palpable connection that you're both trying to ignore. From your point-of-view, you can almost see the veins in your sister's head. It might burst, you thought. You laughed inwardly. This isn't the time for that. "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS, (NAME)-CHAN!!! OIKAWA AND YOU??? YOU KNEW EACH OTHER? YOU:RE CLOSE? WHAT? WHAT!! WAIT, THIS ISN'T--" Your sister continues to ramble and shout, you wondered if what she's gonna do this time. Maybe throw everything you own into the pool. You didn't care. She grabs your arm and tries to pull you out of the room. Her grip is too tight you wonder if her nails are going to leave scratches on your arm. Oikawa stopped her but she is on the verge of hysterics. You look at him and mentally converse "Later. Please." You've been close for so long for him to be able to know what that look meant. You let your sister drag you out of the room and shouts at you but you already tuned her out. She was yelling words in the line of bitch, revenge or steal. You cannot even comprehend her sentences anymore, you're too busy thinking about Oikawa's loss. You tell your sister she can attack you later and you left her in the corridor. You go back to the lockers. Where Oikawa is. "She's mad." He says. "Oh I didn't notice. Was she? I thought she was just having a--" You were cut off by Oikawa. He gently grabbed your arm and inspected the marks your sister left. Her grip was indeed too tight. "Well, I can't really blame her. She always had a crush on you. Maybe I was wrong to keep our friendship a secret to her. I should've introduced you to each other." You said with uncertainty. Oikawa softly calls your name. You smile. "I should go talk to her. She might destroy my things or worst, my life. She's really really mad this time." You say. You're praying that your sister somehow thought things through before doing crazy things. "Alright. But can we meet later? In the cafe you really like, the one near the school. We need to talk about... something." He said. Maybe he wants to talk about the game. You know it will take a long time for him to forget about his loss today so you just nod at him. You will see him later, but you need to deal with your sister first. - - - - - You arrived home and let out a sigh of relief when you saw that your things are still intact. No missing books, or burned clothes or ripped pictures. Maybe your sister is finally growing up. You hear her door open and close. She is leaving the house and you decided to not talk to her tonight and let the angst pass. Anyway you still have to talk to Oikawa. You changed your clothes and can't find your favorite dress. You thought hard if you already used them and remembered that you used it last week when you went to the bookstore. It wasn't washed yet so you just picked another. You almost run while going to the cafe you're supposed to meet Oikawa. You imagine him sitting in the table near the window and seriously contemplating his life. You smile at the thought. But when you arrived at the Cafe, a tsunami would be an understatement to describe the emotions that washed over you. There he was. The love of your life. Funny how it is only now you admit to yourself that you love him. There he was. But not sitting in the table near the window, not quietly contemplating. And definitely not alone. He was outside the Cafe. Under the lamp post. He was kissing somebody. He was kissing your sister. You were frozen in place. You desperately wanted to run away. Or to break them apart. Or hit themm both with anything. But you just stood there, waiting for them to break the kiss. You stood there in the corner when they broke the kiss and smiled at each other. Their smiles screamed love. And adoration. And belonging. Maybe you were a fool. You asked yourself why did you believe that maybe he can fall in love with you too. Maybe all along he was in love with your sister. That he thinks your naive and immature with all the rants and frustrations you always vent out to him. Your sister saw you, she smiles triumphantly. You were awoken from you reverie. You turned your back and walked away. Away from them. Away from Oikawa. EXTENDED ENDING!!!! [Oikawa's POV] He finally told her. He told her he loves her, and that he always wanted to be together. He wanted them to be more than friends. He was so happy that she responded positively. When he told her that he loves her, he was expecting a slap or that she would laugh at him and won't believe him. He thought she'll get mad at him and yell that he's crossing the damn line. The line that always held him back even though he wanted to kiss her a long time ago. Instead she kissed him. He was happy. Even though they haven't talked about his loss today, at least now he got what he wanted more than winning that damn game. The girl of his dreams. When her lips met his, it was weird. Not that he thinks it is weird to kiss (Name) but it had no spark. No fireworks. Damn it, he thought. Just when he thought that maybe he can get the other thing he wanted, it just didn't feel right. Did he assumed too much? Was he just desperate to feel accepted that he confused comfort with love? But it's impossible. I know I love her. I do. He thinks to himself. When the kiss ended, he stares at her. It's not the same. When he saw her smile deviously to someone from his back, a light bulb popped into his head. Fuck. He confessed and kissed the wrong twin. And knowing the bad blood between (Name) and her sister, he knew deep within him she would never forgive her. Much less listen to his explanation. She won't even look at him even if he kneel and beg. Who thought he would lose the two most important things in his life in one day?

For What It’s Worth | Oikawa Tooru X Reader
A/N: This is a uhm, what do you call that, a paraquel to my previous story; tenshiii27.deviantart.com/art/… BUT YOU CAN READ THIS WITHOUT READING THE OTHER. I know, I know, you wanted a part 2 but I cannot help myself. I juts felt like I needed to write Oikawa's side. I will still write a sequel so thank you so much for reading. - - - - - “I’m done for… It’s over… She would never forgive me…” No. It can't. Oikawa continued to stare at the ceiling of his room. He’s been at it for god-knows-how long. His thoughts went around what happened earlier. To say that it’s a bad day would definitely be the biggest underestimate to define whatever he is feeling right now. He just lost the fucking game of his life. The one game where he was given the last chance to prove that maybe hard work would beat talent for once. If the game they lost was the only reason he’s up till now, reflecting about everything that happened, maybe it’d be easier to just sleep it off. But no, the cherry on top of this bad day is the moment when the girl of his dreams walked away from his life. Probably forever? He hopes not. The real reason why he’s still up thinking about everything is that today was also the day he lost the love of his life. - - - - - (Name) already left the room to go home and check on her twin sister. She seems very worried about her sister so he let her follow her sister. She would always complain about her annoying selfish sister but he knew deep within her, she loved her twin so much. He can’t blame her, they’re halves of a whole anyway. Iwaizumi walks in the room, probably frowning about the fact that Oikawa’s alone in the lockers now. “Where’s (Name)-chan? I thought she’s here with you.” He said. The chocolate-haired setter tried his hard to smile and compose himself, but he knew his dark-haired friend would immediately know he’s faking it so he stopped trying. “Iwa-chan. I’m sorry we lost. I should’ve gotten that last shot. Maybe I should’ve trained harder. Longer. I can’t even win against my kohai. What a bummer.” Oikawa said. His tears were forming in the corner of his eyes, he tried to hold them back but he let them fall anyway. His friend picked up a magazine from the bench beside him. Oikawa got confused at first but Iwaizumi already smacked the rolled magazine in his head before he could dodge. “The heck you’re talking about, Tooru?!” His eyes widened, tears stopped flowing. “We know of all people that you worked your ass off every day to train. You trained harder than anyone else, you even injured yourself at one point but you never faltered. Don’t tell me this is enough to crush your soul. Because if yes, I am officially un-friending you.” Oikawa stayed silent but his tears already stopped. He never thought Iwa-chan would be like this. He thought he would just say witty remarks about him being trashy and all but he didn’t. I mean, yes there was a little scolding but would it be Iwa-chan without some provoking remarks. Oikawa smiled. “Iwa-chaaaaaaaaan!!!! You wouldn’t really unfriend me, would you????? You’re soooo mean.” He spread his arms as if asking for a hug but Iwaizumi started walking away, but he caught a hint of smile from his friend’s lips. “Trashykawa is back.” Iwaizumi whispered to himself. “Anyway, where’s (Name)-chan? She was here earlier right?” “Yup. Her sister got mad at her so she followed her.” Oikawa replied. “This is one of the reasons why I don’t approve of you guys keeping your friendship a secret. Anyone with eyes and ears would be able see the fact that you guys are totally in love with each other no matter how much you try to hide it.” Oikawa blushed. Totally forgetting momentarily about his loss earlier. “You don’t know that!” H exclaimed. Iwaizumi can only snort in reply. “It is true that (Name)-chan is amazing. She’s not annoying, clingy, emotional and she’s trustworthy. She’s not quick to judge, she knows and accepts the real me. She’s amazingly beautiful and talented and smart and—But that’s not the point. I know I am doing a pretty good job at hiding my feelings!” “Yeah right.” Iwaizumi said, dismissing him. “By the way, Oikawa. You hadn’t forgotten about what you still have to do, right? It’s high time you tell her your feelings.” His dark-haired friend added. “But what if she rejects me? Tell me that she sees me only as a friend and that she’s in love with someone else? What if she’s in love with you??? I caught you once talking after school!! What was that about, Iwa-chan? Are you betraying me? What? Oh my gods, what if you’re the one she wants to be close to and was just using me to get to yo--.” Before he could finish, he again received a hard smack in his head courtesy by his friend. “You really are an idiot, Shittykawa! Didn’t I just tell you that anyone with eyes can see that you’re utterly in love with each other? She watches after you, you just don’t know it because you’re too busy overworking yourself to achieve you dreams. Now it’s time you pursue something else besides volleyball. She’s a good person, Oikawa. Don’t hurt her.” Iwaizumi was wrong. He did notice her. She was always reminding him to rest once in a while and not to overwork himself. He always noticed her watching them practice. It was one of the reasons why he never gave up, because he knew somebody got his back no matter what, well aside from his dear friend Hajime. It was the times they're together in that spot behind the old gym that he treasured most. They we’re open, away from the crowds and he would always feel at peace just sitting beside her. Maybe this was the reason why they kept their friendship a secret, they didn’t want intruders, they only want each other. When she walked over his table that fateful day, he started seeing her in a different light. She was wonderful. Other people would see her as someone who don’t give a flying f*ck about anything not her business, but he knew better. She was caring. Warm. They said she’s too quiet, he knew she’s simply observing. They said she’s cold, he knew she’s just tactful. They said she too reserved, he knew she just good at listening. He promised himself he would tell her his feelings after his last match in high school. Win or lose, he’d done his best to be where he is now. So the next thing before continuing his volleyball career, is to tell (Name) that he’s in love with her for a long time now and ask her if she’s willing to be his personal cheerleader. God, he would love to hear her shouts and cheers during matches. Whenever she encourages her, he felt like he can conquer the world. If he’s a king, she definitely is his queen. - - - - - He’s f*cking anxious. This isn’t like him. Whenever he faces strong opponents in matches, he’s never nervous. He’s calm and collected. But this isn’t some match, this is the love of his life. He’s gonna confess. He fidgeted, checked his phone, checked his reflection in the class window beside him but he cannot calm down. He’s going to tell her, he thought for the hundredth time. He’s a minute away from backing out when he spotted her outside the café. She’s beautifully standing there, clad in her favourite dress. He wanted to take a picture of the sight. He wondered why isn’t she coming inside, he’s already too nervous and his mind is in chaos so he decided to come to her before all of his courage drains. “(Name).” He says, approaching the girl standing just below a lamp post. She smiled, the boy wondered why there’s no hitch nor tug in his heart. Probably my calming techniques, working? He thought to himself. He’s too preoccupied in collecting his thought to think of unnecessary things. - - - - - “Damn that bitch is really close with, Oikawa-san. She’s too selfish to keep him to herself, knowing that I’ve always liked Oikawa? This is the reason why I always hated her.” (Name)’s sister thought to herself while watching Oikawa approach her. She used (Name)’s favourite dress and even tried her best to style and act like her. They’re twins, no can tell them apart aside from their parents. She never understood why her sister is always better than her. There should’ve been only one of them in this world. Maybe she never would’ve felt like she was some piece of trash compared to her perfect sister. No one knows how hard it is to beat someone who isn’t even trying to compete with you in the first place. “Ugh, I really hate her.” She thought, again. He’s going to confess. From his restlessness and the lovestruck look in his face, she knew he was in love. “Annoying.” She thought. “Oikawa is mine now.” “F*ck, if I speak, he’ll know I’m not (Name).” The girl thought. The only thing that is not totally the same with them is their voice. So she stayed quiet, just watching the boy in front of her. - - - - - - Gathering up the last ounce of his courage, he took a deep breath. “(Name), Ihavesomethingtotellyou. Iknowitmaybesuddenwithallthathappenedtodaywiththelosingandallbut uhm…” Deep breaths, Oikawa, deep breaths, he thought. Don’t fuck this up, man. She just looked at him, he’s still confused about not feeling anything rather than nervousness. He thought everything would be easy since whenever he looks at her before, he gives his all into holding himself back from pouring all his unsaid feelings. But he’s telling her now, he thought. So he relaxed. “(Name), I have been in love with you. I’m in love with you then, I’m in love with you now. From the moment you walked into the classroom, with you (h/c) hair flowing behind you and that look in your eyes that makes it seem like you’d understand even someone like me the way I wanted to be understood. I love you, (Name). You’re the only thing I would be willing to give up volleyball for if you asked for it. I love—“ He poured everything out, all the unsaid feelings he bottled for a long time only to be interrupted. She kissed him. It’s a positive response, he thought to himself. When the kiss ended, he stared at her. It's not the same. When he saw her smile deviously to someone from his back, a light bulb popped into his head. Fuck. He confessed and kissed the wrong twin. Who’s The Best? | Kuroo Tetsurou X Reader
AU: You’re all graduating students from University, finishing your thesis. You’re paired with Kuroo, your long-time boyfriend. Characters: Reader, Kuroo Tetsurou, Bokuto Koutarou, Akaashi Keiji, Oikawa Tooru and Iwaizumi Hajime “Three days before the deadline and you choose to have a major revision now?!?” You can’t help but raise your voice a few decibels higher than your usual tone. You are talking to your boyfriend and thesis partner, Kuroo Tetsurou. He is a major science nerd, and you are both soon to graduate from your University given if you finish you thesis in time. You are almost done with your paper but your oh-so-great boyfriend decides that it is a good idea to switch your variables to make your thesis arguments stronger. However, the revision that he wants isn’t possible because the deadline is right around the corner. “(Name)-chan, I just want us to have a better grade. If we change it now, like right now now, we can probably make it.” He says in a voice he rarely uses. You can tell he really wants it, and he’s starting to be annoyed too. “We can’t, Kuroo!! Are you really willing to take that risk right now? ‘Probably’ is not good enough when our future is at stake here!” You retort. “No shit, (Name). We need solutions, not your useless rants about how we can’t make it. We will make it if only we stop arguing and start revising.” Yep, he’s definitely pissed now. But you nothing would make you back down. After years and months of sleepless nights, it’s no brainer that you don’t wanna risk not being about to graduate. “I should’ve asked Tooru to be my partner.” You murmur with angst. “What did you say?” He ask you, wide-eyed. He had always been jealous of everyone, even his friends, particularly with Oikawa. He’s been friends with the guy since freshman year but he still can’t let go of the fact that Oikawa tries to hit on you whenever he can, as a joke of course. “Nothing.” You reply. “Yeah, maybe you should’ve asked your Oikawa.” He sarcastically says as he started to gather his things. Uh-oh, jealous Kuroo is starting to rear its ugly head. “It was a joke, Tetsu.” You sigh. Maybe you crossed the line there. “Well, it’s not funny.” He deadpanned. “What? Sometimes, your jokes go way overboard, too! Like when you joked that maybe you should’ve dated (someone)’s sister since she’s such a great cook and I am not!” You snapped. “Really now? You’re gonna bring that up? How come you remember what I said ‘AS A JOKE’ last june 25th 20whatever when you can’t even remember your lesson yesterday! I really don’t get you girls.” He yells back. “EXCUSE ME? As far as I’m concerned, my grades are excellent. For your information, you’re not as smart as you think!! And your chemistry jokes suck!!!!!!!” You said, probably sounding a little bit harsher than intended. “UGH!!!!!!!!” He exasperatedly sigh. He always thought you liked his Chemistry pick-up lines. And you do, it’s just that you really want to hurt him right now. “Just find YOUR Oikawa and try to join them. Coz we’re done here.” He even used air quotes with the word ‘your’. Your heart stopped at the last phrase, but because you’re so mad that you won’t back down with this fight. “You know what? I will! I will call him right now, join him and Iwaizumi and I’m gonna enjoy every bit of it! Finish that yourself! We’re done!” You yell back. “FINE!” “FINE! I’M DONE!” “YOU’RE DONE? I AM DONE!” “Well, this is me being done! BYE!” You gather your things and walk out of his dorm room, not letting him retort any longer because you always want to have the last word. - - - - - While on your way to nowhere, you spot Bokuto and Akaashi on a Café probably working on their own thesis paper. Lightbulb moment!!! Maybe you can join them. “KOUTARO!!! KEIJI!!!” You call them and went to their table. You see Akaashi seriously typing as he acknowledges you with a nod. Meanwhile, Bokuto seemed so restless in his seat. He’s probably dying to play volleyball or any activity that doesn’t involve a freaking laptop and endless typing. “(Name)-chan!!! Akaashi here won’t let me practice! He dragged me here and ordered me to finish my parts before I can go play!! We’re in a café but he also won’t let me drink coffee!!!” Bokuto speaked so fast you almost barely caught the sentences. You look at Akaashi and had a mental conversation. [A/N: not telepathically, okay? They’ve been friends for years so they can understand each other without words. Lol] “Too hyper?” You think. “You have no idea.” He think back. Alright, then. You can’t join them now. Akaashi already have enough problem with Bokuto barely helping, and he can’t even tell it to Bokuto since the latter would probably just sulk all day and they would end up accomplishing nothing. “Why are you here, by the way (Name)-chan?” Bokuto asks. You turn to him and smile. “Oh, nothing. I just needed a breather. Tetsu and I had been working too hard. I deserve a break.” “Ohhh. Is Tetsurou being such a burden, (Name)-chan? I told you, you should have just ditched your boyfriend and joined us.” Bokuto says. You almost laughed because Akaashi is secretly piercing Bokuto with a glare that might kill someone if only looks could kill. “You’re one to talk, Koutarou. You typed a paragraph and took a 2-hour break. If anything, you’re worse than Tetsu.” Akaashi said to Bokuto while the latter faked a hand on his chest and pretended he was hurt. Akaashi isn’t buying it. Instead of giving him attention, he ignored the grey-haired dude and continued typing. “Ohh-kay, men. I’m gonna go.” You say as you stand up and prepare to leave. You can almost see Bokuto’s impending sulk fest, you cannot deal with that today. Akaashi nods while Bokuto is staring at Akaashi with puppy eyes, probably mentally begging him to take back what he said. - - - - - It’s been four hours since your fight with Tetsu. You’ve been sitting in the swing in the park for 40 minutes because you got tired of walking around. You’ve been contemplating on whether you should really call Oikawa or Iwaizumi and join them. But you decided against it because; first, they are probably done with their work and you’ll end up free-riding and second, your boyfriend really is jealous of Tooru. He said maybe you’re regretting saying yes to you being his girlfriend. He said maybe if only you met “pretty boy” Tooru first, maybe you’d end up being one of the chocolate-haired setter’s girls. You laugh to yourself. How could that beautiful cat man thinks you would choose Oikawa over him? You know deep inside that he’s the one for you, corny chemistry pick-up lines and puns included. You love his eyes and the way they look at you adoringly. You love his muscular and tall body that compliments your height well. You love his bed hair, which naturally and weirdly defies gravity. And you loved his personality, being scheming and all that. Your phone beeped. You read: From: Shittykawa [Tetsu was the one who input his name like that] What’s up with you and cat man? He’s been calling me and Iwa-chan like a crazy, asking if you’re with us. He even said he had the perfect murder planned if we’re lying about not being with you. You’re not in trouble, are you? Are you fighting? Lol. You really have a crazy boyfriend. Your phone beeps again. From: Iwa-zilla {attachment: 1 image} Evidence. Just in case. You opened the attached file. It was a screenshot of Tetsu’s threat. It reads: From: Kuroo Tetsurou To: Iwaizumi Hajime (Name)-chan seriously hasn’t called you? Or went to your room? Oikawa isn’t lying? I swear to God, if you’re both covering up for your asses, I might or might not have already concocted a substance that would never be traced in your corpse even if the cops perform autopsy a hundred times… This time, you can no longer stifle your laugh. IT’S OFFICIAL, YOUR BOYFRIEND IS THE CRAZIEST, FUNNIEST, SEXIEST FUTURE CHEMIST IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. “You sure are having a good time.” Someone said behind you, startling you. You didn’t even have to look back to know that your boyfriend found you laughing out loud alone in a park with your phone on your hand. You hold back a smile. With the most decent poker face you could muster, you face him. “What are you doing here?” You say. “Hmmm… I might or might not have bought your favorite coffee from your favorite café. Along with the limited stock strawberry shortcake you always crave for.” HE. DID. NOT. You fight your urge to just run to him and kiss his beautiful face. “I’m not hungry.” You say. Trying so hard to look away from the bag he’s holding. “Please. You’re always hungry.” He teases you and smiles charmingly. “Hmp!!! You sure that coffee doesn’t contain a substance that not even autopsy can trace from my lifeless corpse?” You tease him. A smile slightly forming in your lips. “THOSE BASTARDS!!! They told you that?” He says with exaggeration. You can’t help but laugh. You almost forgot what you are fighting about earlier. He hands you the bag with containing his bribe. There’s a cute little note on top that says, “Chemists do it on the table periodically. ” You laughed out loud. God, Tetsu and his provocative pick-up lines. You shook your head while trying to control your laughter. “You’re crazy, Tetsu.” “I knew you’ve always loved my pick-up lines. Now, come here and give me a hug. You owe me one.” He says while spreading his toned arms expecting a hug. You frown, “For what? For saying I should’ve asked Tooru to be my partner, I thought we’re over that—“ Your blood pressure started rising but interrupted you by planting a swift kiss on the top of your lips. You blushed. “Because… I finished everything and already passed our thesis paper. Let’s prepare for the defense, lazyass.” He says as he winks and hold your hand. You smile as you walk together back to your room. IT’S OFFICIAL, YOU DO HAVE THE BEST BOYFRIEND IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD.
