PMC 2013 Flashback - Our 10-Year 293 Mile Epic Ride across Massachusetts. Karen and Jeff decided that a perfect way to mark the 10th year of Team HB was to start in Richmond, MA at the NY boarder and trek all the way to ptown.  It was a HUGE ride and a tremendous accomplishment for all.

July 4th Weekend is always a big training weekend, but the ride on the holiday is always very casual and big fun.

PMC 2014 Flashback!  We had the worst weather in the event’s 35-year history and have never spent a more miserable day on the bike. The storm raged all day dumping inches of cold rain covering all us in road grime. There were no cheering crowds along the route and nothing to take your mind off the perils of a long distance ride.   The 2014 PMC wasn’t a celebration, rather it was more like the cancer battle where you feel alone in the storm, doing the work to get to the finish, praying for the miracle at the end of the rainbow.

PMC 2015 flashback!  Last year, we had the honor of riding for our PMC Team Pedal Partner, Dylan Pray.  The weather was perfect and it was one of our best PMC weekends ever!  Stephen achieved Heavy Hitter status with record fundraising and we hope to both achieve that status this year!

Wanted to share a bit of details on where all the PMC funding goes. Here is the distribution of the record $45M gift last year.

Hi!  this summer has flown by and I know I've been a terrible blogger.  With the PMC coming up this weekend, I thought I share a few posts from all the rides that we did to get ready for the Pan Mass Challenge.  Here are some photos from our May trip to Martha's Vineyard.  We biked all over the island, including a very windy 40 mile ride out to Gay Head Light in Aquinnah.  Love biking on MVY.

Last night, WCVB Chronicle devoted their program to this story and it most certainly hits home for us... Stephen's Dad was a Beverly firefighter and although he ultimately died from heart failure, he also suffered from lung cancer.  Miss you Norman ....

Winter is the unofficial start to the Pan Mass Challenge. On a cold day in January, we registered for our next PMC adventure and on August 6-7, we will once again ride all across Massachusetts in support of finding a cure for Cancer. Last week, we began the long road back to bike shape with spin class at the Y, a night mountain bike ride for Stephen, and a fun 2-hr Cross Country ski for me! Yesterday on February 1st, it was 65F in Beverly, so I dusted of the road bike and pumped the tires and went out for a very windy ride to the beach!
This year, I thought it might be fun to share a bit more about our PMC adventures, our team, and a bit of why the PMC is so important to us. Welcome to our new Blog! :)
