For Anti-termite Reticulation, why should you insist on using pipes specially designed and developed for the purpose of underground installation?
Installing underground reticulation system to prevent termites, is soon becoming a norm, given the increasing cost of construction material and labor. It is most logical to proactively protect your expensive interiors by preventing termites rather than act reactively, in response to a termite attack. As we are aware, termites surreptitiously eat away our property and are visible only after inflicting huge damage.
History of Anti-Termite Reticulation Technology:
This system is not a new technology, it is in use since almost 30 years or more. However, initially people used to install normal PVC pipes by manually poking holes in those pipes. These are plumbing pipes, the installation is also often done by plumbers by poking holes randomly and also on one side, only at the top. This does not give a proper flow rate and the chances of blocking are very high. We cannot say for how long will such pipes stay operational underground.
In some years, as more people started installing this system, people also started using irrigation pipes of varying sizes for anti-termite reticulation. Since about 25 years, irrigation pipes are also used for this purpose. Typically, these pipes have 3 – 6 holes/mtr, furthermore the holes are on 1 or 2 sides, not all around the pipe. Another very important point to note is, irrigation pipes are not weight bearing pipes, as they are made for use above ground. The material is not made to withstand the pressure of underground installation, where a lot of weight of construction material will come over it. Flow rate from these pipes is not dependable due to various reasons: (i) the material of these pipes is thin and may squeeze, bend or lock, (ii) it has less holes/mtr so the chances of blocking are high (iii) If PCE is used, then high pressure flushing is also not possible. Furthermore, these pipes need a pressure of 1-2 Kg/cm2, to pump in the termiticide and will take about 40-50 minutes to inject the medicine.
This is where, a research driven company like TermiPore steps in, to solve the issues faced in preventive Anti-Termite Reticulation System. Intensive research and trials were undertaken by TermiPore to develop the right raw material compound to make sturdy, long-lasting pipes suitable for underground use. About 20 years ago, TermiPore not only developed a special weight-bearing elastomeric compound, but also designed the pipe in different sizes with holes 100-150 microholes/mtr all around the circumference & across the entire pipe length. TermiPore pipes are hard and have high thickness. As a result, they do not squeeze or get blocked. These pipes are designed as per ATR requirement. TermiPore Reticulation System needs a pressure of 0.25 Kg/cm2 to pump the termiticides and it takes only 15-20 minutes to inject the medicine.
Difference in flow rate when distributing termiticides using PVC, Drip Irrigation and TermiPore Pipe can be seen in Pic 1.

At TermiPore we believe in strict quality control. Every pipe roll is tested before dispatch. Not just that, TermiPore is the only known lab-tested brand, assuring the efficacy of its various attributes. For more details please click: https://termipore.blogspot.com/2023/01/termipore-only-reticulation-pipe-lab.html
Beyond doubt, TermiPore is a leading brand known for the reliability of its products and services. We don’t just manufacture pipes, we offer an entire Anti-Termite Reticulation System – the pipes, all the needed accessories, technical training and support and great after-sales service. Pic 2

Termipore Installation: Is it Better at Plinth Level or After PCC?
When it comes to termite protection, proper installation timing is crucial for long-lasting results. One of the common questions that we are often asked is: When to install Termipore; at Plinth Level or after Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) has been laid?
Read on for a quick overview.
Each stage in the construction process offers benefits for termite treatment, and understanding those benefits will give an insight into when to schedule TermiPore installation, so as to achieve maximum effectiveness.
Understanding the Key Stages in Construction
Before diving into the specifics of Termipore installation, it is important to have a basic understanding of the key stages involved in the foundation of a building:
1. Plinth Level: This is the stage where the foundation is being prepared and the structure is ready to rise above ground. The plinth is the part of the building just above the ground level and typically marks the transition from underground construction to above-ground structure.
2. PCC Stage: Plain Cement Concrete, or PCC, refers to the layer of concrete that is poured before reinforcing bars (rebars) are laid for the main structural slab. PCC acts as a base layer, providing a smooth surface for construction and serving as a protective layer against soil contamination or moisture.
Both the plinth and PCC stages are critical junctures in the construction process, and each offers unique opportunities for applying termite protection measures.
Termipore Installation at Plinth Level: (as seen in pic 1)

Applying Termipore treatment at plinth level in conjunction with Soil Treatment offers several benefits, especially when it comes to prevention. Here’s why:
1. Maximum Ground Coverage: Since the site is totally vacant and exposed at plinth stage, you will be able to install a systematic grid all across the site, enabling you to create a comprehensive barrier at foundation level, allowing termite treatment to be applied directly to the soil around and beneath the structure. This creates a comprehensive barrier, ensuring that termites cannot enter the building from the ground. Once construction is done above foundation, you have no way to fortify your property periodically at that level, unless you have installed a sturdy and reliable anti-termite reticulation system like TermiPore. With TermiPore, you can easily inject termiticide at required intervals, and ensure that termites never enter your premises from beneath the ground. As you are aware, termites can make way through the tiniest of cracks and the destruction is visible on the surface only after irreparable damage is already done!
2. Prevention from Day One: Since the plinth is the transition point between the underground foundation and the above-ground structure, protecting at this stage ensures that termites are prevented from accessing the building through any possible entry points from the very beginning.
3. Permanent Shield: The application at this stage integrates termite protection into the foundation of the building itself, making it a permanent shield that provides long-term protection. Construction can spring up around your property at any time and you will never know, when termites from neighbouring lands/properties start making inroads into your property. TermiPore gives you the best framework to ensure termiticide injection at regular intervals, to ensure that there is no infestation on your property due to the negligence of your adjoining property owners.
Termipore Installation After PCC (as seen in pic 2)

While the plinth level offers certain advantages, some recommend installing TermiPore Anti-Termite Reticulation System, after the PCC stage. Here's why this approach can be beneficial:
1. Barrier Over the Concrete Base: Once the PCC is laid, treating the area ensures that termites are unable to penetrate through the concrete base into the structure. This is especially important for protecting the flooring and walls, which are often at risk of termite attack if not properly sealed.
2. Added Layer of Protection: By treating after PCC, you are essentially adding an additional layer of termite defence. Any gaps, cracks, or vulnerabilities that might develop during the concrete pouring process are sealed off by the termite treatment.
3. Concentrated Protection for Vulnerable Areas: While the plinth level is important for creating a broad barrier, applying the treatment post-PCC allows for targeted application in areas that might be more prone to termite infiltration, such as the joints, edges, and perimeters.
Which is the Better Option?
The question of whether Termipore should be applied at the plinth level or after PCC doesn't necessarily have a one-size-fits-all answer. Both stages offer critical opportunities to fortify a structure against termites. However, the most effective approach is often a combination of the two:
1. First Installation at Plinth Level: This creates a wide-ranging barrier in the soil and around the foundation, ensuring termites are stopped at the source.
2. Second Installation After PCC: This adds a targeted layer of protection, focusing on any weaknesses that may arise during construction and offering reinforcement at key vulnerable areas.
By treating both at the plinth level and after PCC, you are essentially doubling down on protection, ensuring that your building is safeguarded from termites on multiple levels.
Conclusion
When it comes to termite protection, timing is everything. Installing Termipore at plinth level provides early-stage protection that lays the foundation for a termite-free structure. Applying it again after PCC further reinforces this defence, ensuring that any potential vulnerabilities are sealed off.
For best results, it's recommended to integrate both approaches into your termite prevention strategy. This way, you can be rest assured that your structure is fully protected from ground up. How to install TermiPore Pipe on Ground Beam?
We have often received questions about how to install TermiPore pipe across ground beams.
This may feel like something very technical or difficult, but in reality, it is very simple to install TermiPore across beams. As you are aware TermiPore is not just a pipe, but a comprehensive anti-termite reticulation system. When you buy TermiPore you also get all the necessary accessories along with the TermiPore pipe. These accessories include various types of jointers like 2-way jointers, T- jointers, 4 way jointers, elbows, end plugs, fixing hooks, plain PVC pipe, junction boxes etc. Pic 1 illustrates the accessories available with TermiPore Pipe. For more information, refer to: https://termipore.blogspot.com/2023/12/termipore-anti-termite-reticulation.html

Since TermiPore is available in different sizes (for more details visit www.termipore.com ) these accessories are also available in different sizes, to fit the pipe you have ordered. It is with the use of these accessories that you can install TermiPore pipe across ground beams during construction.
There are 3 ways in which you can install TermiPore Reticulation System across beams.
Method 1: TermiPore Over the Beam

Please review Pic 2 to understand this method where TermiPore is installed above the beam, T-jointers and elbows. You have the flexibility to use the plain pvc pipe or TermiPore pipe on the small area above the beam.
As can be seen clearly in Pic 2, using a T-jointer, 3 pipes are connected in 3 different directions. The pipe that reaches the upper edge of the beam is then connected with another pipe on top of the beam using elbow jointer. Another elbow jointer is used at the other end of that pipe, followed by another T-jointer. These little accessories easily help you navigate across any number of beams on your site.
In Pic 3, you get a closer look at how the pipes are connected in different directions, with the help of T and elbow jointers.

Method 2: TermiPore Under the Beam
In this method, you dig a narrow passage under the beam so that you can run the pipe across the bean from under it. Again, the use of T-jointers, elbows and plain pvc pipe will help you to easily install the pipe as needed, as can be seen in Pic 4.

Method 3: TermiPore In A Narrow Groove On The Beam

Pic 5 clearly illustrates how a narrow groove is made on the beam to take TermiPore across the beam and all the pipes are joined using the various jointers.
The key point here is to ensure that the pipes do not bend/squeeze at corners, as that may slow/block the flow of termiticides. Using jointers and tying them with the ties accompanying the kit help to tightly secure the accessories. A gentle reminder, avoid direct contact of reticulation pipes with cement.

Why Install TermiPore Reticulation System at Foundation
When Soil Treatment is anyways mandatory?
Getting Soil Treatment done at foundation is mandatory, when constructing a new property. It is obvious then, to have a question that why also incur the cost of installing anti-termite reticulation when one is already spending on soil treatment, as that is a legal requirement?
We have a very rational answer to this very valid question. No one wants to incur pointless expense and anyone suggesting such a wasteful expense in the name of marketing is not fair either.
However, as mentioned earlier, we have a very rational explanation for this query.
When such a regulation was made, the reticulation method of termite prevention probably did not exist or may have been at a very nascent stage. Soil Treatment is the best traditional method to prevent termites, in the absence of an alternative technology.
The flip side of soil treatment is once the construction is done, there is no way to inject termiticides at foundation level in future. This means after a few years of construction, termites can bore into your premises from under the plinth, by making way through miniscule cracks of a fraction of a millimeter

Financial wisdom lies in ensuring that one uses preventive technology to block termites for decades and preempt future losses that can be very high due to termites. Furthermore, TermiPore Anti-termite Reticulation System is a very cost-effective, high quality & simple solution to protect your premises from termite damage, for decades.
Soil treatment is used pre-construction at foundation level, and it is also used as curative solution post construction. As we know, it involves digging soil, mixing high quantity of termiticides in that soil and replacing it in the same place it was dug out of. This process is time consuming, cumbersome, can be harmful for humans and pets, could infect surrounding water-bodies if not done properly, and repeating it in future is again a huge hassle.
Thus, the best hassle-free, long-term solution is to install good quality anti-termite reticulation system and enjoy a termite free premises. TermiPore is a highly reliable brand to reckon with. TermiPore is not just pipes, but an entire system with all required accessories and after-sales support.
It is available in varied standard and customized sizes, visit: www.termipore.com for details on sizes. However, we recommend 17.5mm and 19.5mm at foundation/plinth level and 14.5mm before laying floor tiles. Picture 1 depicts TermiPore installation at foundation by our client in Delhi

Here are some benefits of TermiPore Reticulation System:
Unique raw material made of specially developed elastomeric compound for long-lasting underground installation
Cost-effective & affordable
Easy to install
Simple and hassle free termiticides injection
Very easy to repeat treatment at required intervals
Very long lasting with the use of right type of reticulation pipes and accessories
Lab-tested (visit www.termipore.com for more details)
Manufactured by ISO 9001:2015 company
Very high quality control standards (for more details visit: https://youtu.be/IKbVP7aIRIg?si=UWo_aYziPw4M85U5 or else www.termipore.com)
So, as we stated earlier, it is logical and necessary to install TermiPore at foundation, along with soil treatment, to ensure very long lasting protection from termites, as TermiPore enables repeat treatment without any hassles.

Understanding Termipore PWD – our LLDP pipes, approved by Public Works Department for Anti-termite Reticulation.
Introduction
As we know, termites are a persistent threat to buildings and structures, causing extensive damage that can be both costly and challenging to repair. In today’s times of super expensive construction and repair costs; proactive preventive termite management known as Anti-termite Reticulation is highly preferred over traditional methods that control, not prevent termites.
Reticulation method for termite prevention is more cost-effective, easy to install, hassle-free to inject termiticides, sustainable and environmentally friendly.
As you may be aware, preventive reticulation system consists of a network of underground pipes installed across the construction and around the perimeter of a building. This network is designed to distribute a termiticides throughout the soil to create a protective barrier against termites. Repeat treatment and predetermined interval, ensures a continuous barrier that prevents termites from entering the structure. The system is typically installed during the construction phase of a building, but it can also be retrofitted to existing structures.
Brand TermiPore is available in various materials and sizes, as per the requirement of our clients. The Public Works Department in India has approved anti-termite reticulation systems with LLDP (Low Linear Density Polyethylene) pipes. www.termipore.com

Click here for details on installation process: https://termipore246357195.wordpress.com/2022/03/10/how-to-install-anti-termite-reticulation-pipes/
Our products undergo a stringent quality control process and our growing client base as well as repeat orders show how much our clients trust us.
Our standard pipes have specific colour lines, as can be seen in fig 1.
However, it has been brought to our attention that duplicate TermiPore Pipes are available in the market with similar coloured lines. It is said that success is when you find others imitating you. We are happy that we are so successful that people want to imitate us, but we are definitely not happy that they use our brand name and pass on inferior material or irrigation pipes made for above the ground installation, to unsuspecting clients and make money illegally. We recommend you to beware of fake products.
To help our clients identify our original product, we have introduced a few easy solutions.
In 4 very simple steps, you can check if you have got the original TermiPore Reticulation Pipes:
Check the TermiPore brand logo on every package.
Fig. 2 represents our correct logo
Check the QC Reading Label on every package.
As mentioned earlier, we have a very stringent quality control process, and each roll is checked for 9 parameters before it is despatched. We also paste the flow rate of each roll on the package, please ensure you have received the package with the information of your roll’s flow rate on it. Fig 3 illustrates a QC label.
Check the QR Code on every package.
Each package has a QR code. Scan it to verify your product. It will take you to our website and you will know it is genuine. Figure 4 represents our QR code.
Check for HSIN Code/GST Rate on invoice
TermiPore HSIN Code starts with 4009... and it has a GST of 18%.
If the GST is 12% then the pipe is for irrigation purpose, and not for underground use. The HSIN code for Irrigation Pipes, Soaker Hose, Porous Pipe etc is also different.
When you buy TermiPore, you buy quality, assurance, & peace of mind!
Just follow these 4 simple steps and ensure that you have received genuine TermiPore Pipes.

At what stage of construction can we install TermiPore Anti-termite Reticulation System?
Of the few most frequently asked questions, one is pertaining to when can one install a Reticulation System to prevent termites? Sometimes our prospective clients ask us that they are already at the stage of laying the tiles, are they already too late to install the system?
Good news is TermiPore Reticulation System can be installed at different stages of construction, Before, During, & After Construction too.
A) Before Construction:
You can secure your property at foundation level. This can be done at foundation/plinth level, to complement the statutory requirement of soil treatment. Along with the standard industry norm of soil treatment, we recommend that you install this system. Since this will enable you to protect your property forever, even after the construction is over. After laying the pipes under-ground at foundation level, you bring the junction box above ground and inject pesticides at intermittent intervals. Initially, for the 1st 3-4 years, when the construction and interior work is on and lot of material and agencies are at work on site, you can opt to inject medicines every year. Once the property is ready you can easily inject termiticides once in 2/3 years, so that no termite can enter your premises from under the ground. With minimal investment, you can secure your property against damage and loss due to termites, at foundation level.

B) During Construction:
If you have already started construction above the foundation, no worries at all. You can still install this system, under the tiles, before laying them. This is helpful even on higher floors. We offer pipes of varying sizes, and you can select a pipe that easily fits in the place between the floor bed and tiles.

C) After Installation:
Even if you have missed installing TermiPore Reticulation System at plinth level or below the tiles, you can still protect your property after construction, by installing the pipes around the periphery of your premises and inside the boundary wall.

Guidelines to decide the size of Preventive Anti-termite Reticulation Pipe to be installed. 14mm, 17mm, or 19mm?
The most frequently asked question by our customers is about what size pipe should they install on their site. Often there is a lot of confusion about this due to the various sizes available in the market. Then there are questions whether the performance of the pipes will vary with its size? Will it affect the way the medicine is dispensed on site?
TermiPore has very easy answers to these questions, explained in a very simple way.
We manufacture pipes of various sizes against client order. However, for preventive anti-termite system, after many experiments to optimize performance, results & investment we decided to manufacture pipes of 3 standard sizes (as illustrated in Image 1):
- 14mm with orange line – TP095145 (along with soil treatment & at ground/plinth level)
- 17mm with green line - TP125175 (below tiles)
- 19mm with red line – TP125195(premium pipe – preferred by some clients for some very premium sites)
As you are already aware, our system includes all the necessary accessories and fittings, for all the pipe sizes.
Very obviously, 14, 17 and 19 represent the size or the diameter of TermiPore Reticulation Pipes. Clients often ask for 12mm or smaller pipes. They are typically used for agriculture & irrigation use. We make these sizes on orders, however, for termite prevention, we recommend our standard 14mm 17,mm or 19 mm sizes.
Also, please note, that these are simple guidelines to help you make quick decision. They are not strict rules. You can decide to use any pipe at any stage of construction, based on your preference. This will not compromise the performance of pipes, durability & injection. The main difference will be in the quantity of termiticide used and the flow rate/speed of injection. All our pipes are made from specially developed elastomeric compound raw material, specifically for underground reticulation use that offers tensile strength, long-life & no blockage. Furthermore, our product is lab-tested for many parameters and all our products undergo a strict quality control procedure before dispatch.
With Soil Treatment & At Ground/Plinth Level : 17 mm Pipe With Green Line – TP125175
When you want to install preventive anti-termite reticulation system at ground/plinth level, or along with soil treatment, we suggest the pipe with a larger diameter, i.e. our 17mm pipe with green line, as can be seen in Image 2.
As discussed in a past blog,
https://issuu.com/termiporepipes/docs/installation_presentation_final_file_ready.pptx TermiPore can be installed before, during as well as after construction. The process of installation is also explained at:
Taking forward the discussion on clarity on selectin of pipe size; when you do soil treatment, we suggest that you also install Preventive Termite Reticulation System, before you begin construction. This will give you a permanent opportunity to fortify your property against termites entering your premises through cracks in dried soil under the ground, in future. Soil treatment is possible only once, before construction. There is no way to insert termiticides under the ground, after construction. However, if you make a very tiny investment of installing a reticulation system along with soil treatment, then you can inject termiticide at required intervals. In the initial stage, say for about 3-4 years, it is recommended to inject termiticides every year, since a lot of material comes on site during construction and later for interior decoration. Thereafter you can inject termiticides every 2-3 yrs, depending on the termite infestation in the area. This will ensure that termites can never weaken or damage your foundation, as the building gets old.
We also recommend the same size of 17mm pipe, when you install the system at ground/plinth level, before raising construction above ground. Under both scenarios, the termiticide will be absorbed by the soil, and you will need to inject higher quantity of medicine, as compared to when you install between the floor & tiles. Pipe with a wider diameter will help to inject termiticides in lesser time, furthermore the 17mm pipe has 50 to 80 micro-holes per meter length and gives a flow of 10-15 litres per hour at a pressure of 0.25 Kg/cm2.
Below Tiles: TermiPore 14 mm Pipe With Orange Line - TP095145
When you want to install TermiPore Reticulation System below tiles where the space is comparatively less, you can opt for our 14mm pipe with orange line, as can be seen in Image 3. The low diameter helps to cover longer distance at medium flow rate with 40-70 micro-holes per meter length, giving a flow rate of 7 – 12 litres per hour at a pressure of 0.25 Kg/cm2.
TermiPore Premium 19mm Pipe With Red Like - TP125195
At some very large sites, many of our clients prefer this premium 19mm pipe, as they need a pipe with higher thickness, higher weight bearing capacity & high consistency flow. For such use, TermiPore offers 19mm pipes that has 60-100 micro-holes per meter length and gives a flow rate of 10-15 litres per hour at a pressure of 0.25 Kg/cm2.
A comparison summary of the 3 pipes is illustrated in Table 1.

Will the reticulation pipes get blocked in few years? - The most commonly asked question for Preventive Anti-termite Reticulation
When it comes to Anti-termite Reticulation - preventive anti-termite method; very often architects, end-users, and at times even pest control service providers ask:
Will the pipes block, bend, squeeze or erode in 3-4 years? Such a doubts lead to a perception that the system will not work in the long run and hence there is no point in installing this system.
This may have been the case in the initial years when the system was newly introduced in India, due to many reasons. Let us understand the major reasons why such myth got prevalent.
(1) INAPPROPRIATE MATERIAL & PIPE THICKNESS
Compared to the west, this system is relatively new to India. It was introduced in India about 20/22 years ago. Back then, the practice was to install any irrigation pipe or any plastic pipe for the purpose. All those materials were for use above ground. They did not have the weight bearing capacity, highly required in anti-termite reticulation pipes. Hence they would squeeze under pressure and the system would not give the desired results.
However, TermiPore, in use since almost 17 years; has conducted intensive research in this filed. TermiPore is made of specially developed elastomeric raw material compound. Their raw material is best suited for underground installation. It does not erode over time, or get squeezed under pressure. It is long lasting and has a life of 50 years or more. Furthermore, TermiPore is the only pipe that is lab-tested to corroborate these facts.
Often, thin pipes with thin walls are installed. This too is not suitable for underground installation. Such pipes get squeezed under weight or at corners during installation. TermiPore offers pipes in various sizes with high wall thickness. TermiPore Anti-termite Reticulation Pipes do not bend or squeeze with weight or at corners.
(2) PIPE DESIGN
Back then, the pipe design was not that efficient. There were holes on one side of the pipe, mostly at a distance of 1 feet. So even if one hole got blocked, the medicine would not reach an area of 2 feet!! That can be quite a disastrous.
Based on research and development, TermiPore has specially developed a honeycomb design, with pressure operated holes all along the length and all along the circumference of the pipe. There are about a 100 microholes in one feet. So even if some holes do get block, it will not affect the performance, as there are far too many pressure operated micro holes in all directions, throughout the pipe. Thus, along with durability, TermiPore also offers a consistent flow rate, in comparison to other pipes
(3) INSTALLATION
Earlier, when the system was new, awareness on how to install was low. If the installation is not done properly, there is a chance squeezing or blocking of pipes.
Installation is very easy. The main points to remember are:
(a) The pipes should not be in direct touch with wet cement. Install it in sand and cover it with sand
(b) Do not bend it at sharp point. Install it with a slight curve or use jointers and ties.
(c) Install junction boxes at required intervals
(d) View installation videos on our website, social media handles or YouTube channel
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iakUX_rRfp4&t=1s
(e) You can also contact us. TermiPore offers technical guidance and training for installation of TermiPore Reticulation Pipes. TermiPore also offers technical support in terms of installation layout. Not just that, TermiPore also provides all the necessary accessories for installation.
Thus TermiPore is a Comprehensive Reticulation System, Not Just Pipes!
(4) QUALITY
This is a one-time installation only and quality is of utmost importance. TermiPore is manufactured by a company that is more than 50 years old and it has ISO 9001: 2015 Certification. Brand TermiPore, in use since more than 15 years, assures best quality, consistently. We have a stringent quality control system in place.
