god mickey is just such a soft person
like, his default when somebody he loves is in trouble is to everything he can to help them! he read up in vitamins when ian got diagnosed. he did everything he could to help him, even though he didn’t really understand what ian was going through. he wanted a big wedding with ian to declare his love for him in front of everybody. to him, loving somebody means taking care of them and he hasn’t faltered from that once. he loves in big, big ways
the way he grew up he was forced to be this hard, calculating person. he was constantly in fight or flight mode and he literally wasn’t allowed to be all of these things. but the second he had lifeline to get out of that situation, he became the person he always was. soft, loving, protective, kind etc.
his story means so much because he’s proof that you aren’t defined by your situation that everybody deserves a chance to be kind.
