I'm Terra. This place mostly just exists for the sake of having a place to put up the fiction I've started to write. I'll probably also talk on occasion.

That cats are both good at learning by imitation and deeply concerned with procedure and routine can be a mixed blessing. On the one hand, it means that cats will pick up on a lot of things that other animals would need training for simply by watching you model appropriate behaviour. On the other hand, sometimes a cat will infer a rule you maybe didn't intend to follow and take it upon itself to enforce that rule, and now you're a grown-ass adult with a fixed bedtime.

YMCA in Akkadian (Ancient Babylonian), as written by Gilgamesh's exasperated tourism minister trying to attract more gay guys to Uruk to keep Gil distracted from politics:
.
Eṭlū!- Young men!
Lā tuštamarraṣā- Do not, do not be troubled!
Aqabbi, eṭlū!- I said, young men!
Lā lā taṣallalā- Do not, do not lie down!
Aqabbi, eṭlū!- I said young men!
Šunu ina ālim- You are in a town,
Bēt bēt šikārim ḫanbā- Where taverns sprout luxuriously,
Eṭlū!- Young men!
Ina ālim alkā- Go to the city,

Bēt kaspī ul tīšâ- When you do not have money,
Annikīam tuššabā- Here you can dwell,
Bēt napṭirim nīšu- We have guest-houses,

There's a special hell living in being a roleplayer in Denmark and going to talk to other roleplayers. No matter what, they will all universally agree that their preference is roleplay over combat. Then everybody will nod sagely at each other and nobody will ever elaborate on what they meant.
So you're left wondering if they simply meant to enact the ritual statement of social desirability. Or if they meant that they hate dealing with rules, but haven't heard about freeform roleplaying. Perhaps they've just had shit experiences with combat in the past and want to avoid that. Maybe they prefer a story with a more limited focus on the detailed portrayal of violence or where violence is really dangerous and a last resort. It's entirely possible that they just want to chill out and be casual rather than going hard on either. And, of course, it might just mean that they want to focus more on story than strict gameplay and associate that with combat, but they aren't opposed to either gameplay or combat as a story element.
It also doesn't explain what they mean when they say roleplay. Do they mean creative problem solving and if so, what kind of problems and what level of realism in the creativity they prefer? Do they mean that they want to focus on improv acting and how much back and forth between different players and the GM do they mean in that case? Do they mean a focus on a wider story? Possibly one they have agency over and possibly one the GM largely presents to them. There could be any range of themes, motifs, tones, pacings and so on to this story, of course. You could easily want to focus on a larger story and mean Star Wars, but you could also mean Hamlet or All Quiet on the Western Front or Njall's Saga and those would all be quite different.
And this doesn't even go into the possibility of systems without the traditional one GM and multiple player setups or the possibility of stories where literally no violence is expected to happen.
But nobody will say, because apparently "I'm more interested in roleplaying than combat" and maybe a broad mention of preferred aesthetics (fantasy, superheroes, horror, that general level) is not just considered sufficient, but also really the only kind of description possible.

Have them go through what happens if you shoot somebody hiding behind a wooden table using an assault rifle in Phoenix Command.
There's an evil twin to "has only ever played Dungeons & Dragons and thinks all tabletop RPGs are as complicated as Dungeons & Dragons" that lives somewhere in the vicinity of "went straight from Dungeons & Dragons to rules-light storygames and thinks Dungeons & Dragons represents the high end of tabletop RPG complexity". Like, buddy, you have no idea.

Surely the tall, battle hardened, scarred, hairy, rude, vulgar, disheveled, but loyal and ferocious knight I have sworn in as my maiden daughter’s personal guard would not dare to look upon her fairness and her his roguish ways and dare to defy the marriage arrangement I have put in place for her.

why are dudes in fanfic always getting hit with freight train orgasms. why not an orient express orgasm, classy and romantic. where are the shinkansen train orgasms? his orgasm hit him like the TGV atlantique breaking the passenger rail speed record. like the shanghai maglev, his orgasm was a feat of engineering but something of a commercial disappointment.

I'm partial to Priones myself.
The best part about knowing Latin plurals is using them incorrectly on purpose and seeing if anyone who knows why you're full of shit is within earshot. Insist that the plural of of "waitress" is "waitrices". You know you want to.

Don't forget that it's one the main tourist attractions of the city it's in, even among people with no connection to the religion in question. You gotta see the prophet-king's fancy buildings and his art collection. Everybody knows that.
Because Catholicism and by extension Christianity are so big and normal I don't think a lot of people consider how strange the Vatican is just conceptually. Like yeah in the capital of a long-dead empire there's an opulent temple district that acts as it's own sovereign nation, still speaking the dead language of that empire for their rituals, ruled by a prophet-king chosen by a secret conclave of the high priesthood. Yeah his followers eat a lot of fish in the spring.
