It is sweet. It has a sweet art style. There is that musical kind of cheesy atmosphere all through it. 

It’s sweet and silly and insightful and hilarious and “problematic” and mature and childish all mashed together, that’s why I love it so much. 

I remember the first time I saw South Park, the real thing I cared about are the kids. They are not like kids from other cartoons or shows, they feel so real to me. I laughed with them, adventured with them, they are my friends. 

There’re a lot things I don’t have a clue about back then, it’s when I got older, I started to understand and think about the problems they are discussing.  Like politics, religion and well, everything. I love Trey and Matt’s points of view, and I love what they did with the characters, with the plots. They make sense, and they are not afraid to talk about sensitive issues. Every year I re-watch every episode again, and wait for the new season. 

I guess the true charm of South Park is, it’s not just limited to one so called style. You can enjoy it as a kid,  you can also enjoy it as an adult. At different state of life, you find different meaning in it. 

Maybe it isn’t meant to be cute, but they are all so dear to me, so I’d love to draw them that way, and I don’t find it funny at all.
