BREAK THE CHAIN OF MISUNDERSTOOD PARENTING
Becoming a better parent is easy... remembering that you're an awesome person is what makes it stick!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is parenting in 2017 more difficult than it was before the internet fell from space and into our homes? Of course, it is. According to experts in the past 10 years, it has become far easier to emotionally disconnect from your child than it was 10, 20 or 30 years ago or so you would think. Most scholars are claiming that technology is ripping apart the fabric of our interpersonal skills thus;…

I heard on NPR very early this morning that most of our public school textbooks leave out very important information about Dr. King, such as; the reason he was in Memphis April 4th of 1968 where he was shot and killed in cold blood.
FYI - On 8 April, Coretta Scott King, along with other family members and Ralph Abernathy, heads a silent march of 42,000 people to support the Memphis sanitation workers' strike and to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

We all go through rough patches and suffer from many of the symptoms on this video so, don't get freaked out right away.
However, it is how we manage to pull ourselves out and jump back into the real world. This is what helps us to understand whether we need to seek a bit of professional help or not.
Having friends and family to talk to is not a sign of weakness...they are your lifeline. Don't drown; reach out to them, they love you.
And remember; "No storm lasts forever."

What makes a good life? Lessons from the longest study on happiness | Ro...
Recently, "Fats" Domino Jr died at age 89 still fat and out of shape as he’d been his entire life but seemingly happy with 8 children and happily married to the same woman for almost 60 years before she died.
When this happened it triggered something in me to start questioning a cholesterol lowering drug the doctor wanted me to start taking. After a bit of research I found the med (along with countless professionals) to be terrible and have harmful effects on other organs of my body.
So in trying to decide whether to just change my diet or take the medication – I begin to wonder why some like Fats Domino, George Burns – many others who drank, smoked and were overweight had in common that allowed them to live a long life.
What I found was they were surrounded by lifelong friends and relatives, for whom they held high regards for the sanctity of these relationships – they felt kinship and friendship in most all. They knew how to truly love…and be passionate about something. They never stopped living.
Please take the time to watch this Ted Talk and you’ll see what I mean. There’s an actual 75 year long study to back this up. And remember, life is too short for some and just getting started for others – be the change you want to see in others…get out and live while the music’s still playing – better yet, play your own toon.
Peace and Love
