Walking to work was the best way to get some exercise, especially since he lived so close to the hospital now. With his headphones plugged in, Owen usually went on his merry way, though this time, the site of a young woman trying to stick her hand through a post box before kicking it. Call it against his best interests, but Owen felt the urge to check it out and see what he could do to help, even if he was only dressed in his scrubs. “You need some help over here?” he asked as he pulled his earbuds out. 

“What?” she shook her head and looked at the other confuse and slightly startled. “Nah, thanks” she sighed finally realising what Owen was asking, “unless you know how to open this goddamn thing.” Tessa rolled the sleeve of her hoodie again before attempting to get the letter back again.

“Oh wow– um I think that’s a federal offense.” Her lips pulled back in an almost cringe. “You’ll get it back in a day or two, you know that, right?”

“I didn’t put a return address,” Tessa mumbled, “and I don’t think getting back what is mine should be an offence”

“Isn’t this obsolete already? Who uses mail still?” He asked after seeing the girl’s frustration when he was passing by.

Tessa gave Pax a cold look and continued trying to find another way to get into the mailbox.

“Heeey, no damaging city property,” Fallon laughed as she came into contact with the blonde. “I’ve done this plenty of times,” she bent down, jiggling the lock underneath the mailbox. “They don’t actually lock ‘em, at least not here,” she spoke as she released the door and the mail fell out. She stood up and smiled at the girl, “There ya go.”

“Thanks” she gave the other a half smile before starting to rummage through the letters in the box. “Pretty sure this isn’t entirely legal but  hope ‘Patty Smith form Pittsburgh’ wouldn’t mind.” she said throwing a letter she was holding to a side and continuing here search.

“If you had your address on the letter, it will come back to you so you can pay for postage, and if your address isn’t on it, then the person who gets it will have to pay for the postage,” Alex rang off, it being obvious that she did it herself.

“Oh,- thanks. That actually sounds pretty straight forward. I guess it’s not the end of the world unless she decides not to pay for the postage.”

Theo happened to be walking by the girl when he heard the girl get angry and he stopped. “Was it really important? I hate to sound like a Millennial here but who even sends letters anymore?” He sighed when she kicked it. “I wouldn’t do that too hard you might hurt your foot.”

“Was it wha-?” she muttered looking at Theo before processing the information and turning back to the mailbox “I guess it isn’t that important” she narrowed her eyes contemplating, “I mean its is but-- nevermind” Tessa sighed and kicked the box again.

“Yeah it’s a tv show about group of hackers.” She shrugged. “Ooo look at you. I am impressed. What were you doing exactly? Give me the juicy details.”

“Oh it was, like a year or two ago, got into a bet for 100$ and couldn’t resist it.”

“Worst case scenario, it’ll be sent back to you? Actually, I don’t know. I don’t know how that works. I’ve done the same thing before though but it wasn’t at a public mailbox.” Andrew rubbed his chin. “In the mailbox’s defense, it didn’t do anything to deserve being aggressively kicked.”

“It doesn’t let me get my letter back so I beg to differ.” the blonde sighed and looked around to find another way to get into the mail box. “I didn’t put my address on so they can’t send it back, sadly.”

Cami frowned at the blonde’s display. She hadn’t been close enough to hear what was going on, but she figured that something of value must have fallen into the mail box. “Did you loose something?” Cami asked as she approached.

“Yeah, I- I dropped a letter in but I forgot to put a stamp on it.” she mumbled looking around the post box to find another way in.

“Get tracked back? What are you? Mrs. Robot?” The blonde snorted, rolling her eyes. “Banned? Wow. Did they walk in on you while you are sucking someone’s dick or going down on a chick or what?”

“Who’s Mrs. Robot? Was that supposed to be a reference?” Tessa narrowed here eyes, “Public indecency” she said shortly

“Wow, genius move.” Stella said sarcastically. “Why would you even send mails? Can’t you use a god damn computer?”

“I don’t wanna, um, do it through internet so I wouldn’t get tracked back.” she said shrugging, “Plus I think I’m still banned from local library” she mumbled, giving another try to get the letter out.

“Oh my god, I am such an idiot. I just mailed that stupid letter without putting a stamp on” she said trying to fit her hand through the post box and failing. “Fuck” she kicked the red box angrily.

“What’s Adventures in Babysitting?” Tessa frowned smiling, “Do think I’ve ever seen that movie”

“I went to the store today to buy a new copy of Adventures in Babysitting. As I was being rung out the girl at the checkout said she loved old movie’s from the 70′s I corrected her and she got angry, then proceeded to argue with me about what year Adventures in Babysitting came out.” She sighed softly shaking her head as she spoke. “I’m pretty sure she wasn’t much younger than me and i’ve never felt so old in my life.”

                  “Okay now don’t get me wrong, I love my job and everything but if I have one more random ass middle aged man come up to me at a game and demand to know a random fact about a sports team that existed 28 billion years ago just to prove I know how to do my job…. I might actually lose my mind and should not be held personally responsible for my actions.”

“Wait, so you don’t know absolutely everything about every sport ever. How dare you?”

“It’s official. I’m boring. This show coming up is killing me. I’m non-stop working on new pieces, and when I’m not working on new pieces, I’m helping plan the event. I have no free time, and when I do? The only thing I have energy for is a Harry Potter marathon. I’ve become a recluse. I need a night out or I’ll die.”

“Come on, you are not a recluse. You talk to more people daily than I probably do in, I don’t know, months.” she smiled, “ On the other hand, night out sounds like fun, I would be up for a drink or two”
