I have a question....

How does Hornblower compare to the Aubreyad? Would you recommend it for a Aubrey/Maturin lover?

Omg, I just watched The Terror last week (I was so hooked I binged it until 5 AM that night) and I'm so happy there's still a fandom here!!

I feel like Hornblower, the Aubreyad and The Terror are the holy trinity of Age of Sail here. I definitely enjoyed all of these a lot, so I'd recommending watching Hornblower as well!

It's different from the others as it starts with Hornblower being a midshipman new to the navy, so you see him getting used to sea life, learning skills as he's sort of thrown in the water in the first episodes (no pun intended).

It's a lot of fun to watch, because he's really lost and sort of socially awkward finding his place on the ship. Also, the side characters are very likeable and intriguing and the soundtrack goes hard.

Needless to say I liked it a lot! It's maybe a bit more of an coming of age story. But it has ships, what more could you want xD

the scene where crozier asks silna how to kill the tuunbaq and she finally SNAPS and eats him up and is like “you don’t want to be here. you know what you need to do but you won’t do it. tell me: why do you want to die?” and then blanky goes “she asked you why you want to die” like crozier didn’t understand it to begin with and then fitzjames comes in with the versace fur coat and chanel boots and the flushed cheeks and hes like hey what the fuck is going on in here. poetic cinema it literally never gets old.
