I should probably post more stuff to not look like a whiner who only has complains about other people's works. So here is a repost of a small old fanfic I wrote earlier for Angela's birthday.

It's not polished - as it was a 30 min attempt written on my way of a walk. But still, please enjoy.

"I don't really want to drink champagne to celebrate the death of my employee......"

The manager's expressions were stiff when he rejected the suggestion of drinking the champagne from his AI assistant, but decided to soften again when he saw her already raised glass.

"but well...... I will drink if you can provide a better excuse."

The manager of this loop seems to be more in the considerate side. The AI assistant did a quick scan in her memories and brought up a fact she'd forgotten for a long time.

"Then, how about this? 'Today is the day I was made.'"

"In other words, your birthday, huh? I'll accept this excuse." "Happy Birthday, Angela."

A click of glasses in the air.

"Speaking of which... we humans have a saying, that your birthday is also the day of suffering for the person who gave birth to you, for birth of a life come with great agony...... therefore, we should thank the people giving us birth in this day. But I guess this saying makes no sense for a machine, right?"

"Are you requiring me to give a speech about how grateful I am to my creator?"

"No - how dare me. I am just curious about how will a machine perceive the concept of birth."

"We machines are born for tasks, and functioning merely because of them. This is nothing but a matter of fact for us. I never have any doubts on my purpose - therefore I also never have any feelings my creator. Neither love or hate; nor gratitude or resentment. Everything is taken granted for us machines."

"Is that so? ......I'm sorry."

"However - I shall thank you anyway, manager."

"Huh? Why was that?"

"Isn't replying 'Happy Birthday' with 'Thank you' considered good manners, according to you humans?"

"That sounds a little weird coming from the lips of a machine...... But you're welcome. Let's finish this bottle of Champagne. Or it will be wasted."

......So, the manager of this loop is indeed a considerate person, it seems. The AI assistant thought idly as she imprinted the first record ever of the champagne bottle being completely dried.

.........And considerate managers usually won't last long.

Of course this loop didn't witness the day of her creator's memories coming back.

I don’t quite know how tumblr works on replying and fowarding... forwarding it was my mistake, since I didn’t intend to start a discussion (nor convincing anyone) about my opinion. But I can’t really agree on how the OP chose to wrote A in the last day. When there is the original line stating “my friends and coworkers are robbed of their lives, trapped in this cycle of agony“, it’s really hard for me to believe how the OP choose to ignore this line and write about shutting down the Sephirot as “they’re just machines why should we care about machines”.

Also, TeeQueue themself said “I can’t view A as anything else than a self-centered simp“ (it was from a brief discussion in CKC translation team Discord, I guess it’s okay for me to quote this). If you are asking my opinion, I don’t agree with either of his word choice. He clearly showed his regret and cared for his colleagues - well, maybe he was self-centered and only regretted because he was agonized; you are valid if you are refuting me on this. Also, people can have their own reads, so it was my fault on the word choice about “out of character”. I should say “I can’t agree on TeeQueue’s portrayal of A so I can’t quite recommend it“ instead. (I also think their portrayal of Hokma in his core suppression looks weird - I don’t think he was some sort of madman who does not care about anything other than A either; his core suppression was from a fear of change and a desperate attempt to stop the man he looked up to from going into something more brutal).

I’m not complaining about TeeQueue’s LP being bad - that LP is very good, in fact, it was very informative and has a lot of solid writings about the employees, so it should be a good read. TeeQueue themself also made it clear that any non-italicized text were merely the canon of his thread. I just intended to, well, I didn’t intend to say anything specific. But I do wish people can read more than being a “self-centered simp who does not care about others and only attempts to save the word for the one he loved“ from A - and TQ’s LP was a fanfiction written by someone who believed so, so it’s hard for me to...not leave a question mark on how readers might be affected by his opinions.

I hope my long post didn’t bother you (and especially, didn’t anger you). Please forgive my abruptness.

man i wish i could get all my projmoon friends to understand that if Lobotomy Corporation ever got an updated rerelease, it needs to have difficulty options built in so people can make it easier (or harder, if they’re masochists). Lobcorp is a genuinely fantastic game with a story and cast that I adore that’s also the first installment and start of a whole Story Universe of games and media, and that last part makes its only having one super hard difficulty really really bad regardless of its resets making it merciful by roguelike standards. If people have to mod the game to get shit like Day 49 down to something they can actually beat, then something has gone very wrong, and while its Shenanigans would be fine if it were a standalone game, now that it is the first installment of a whole series it’s genuinely bad to have Unchangeable Extreme Difficulty as a major roadblock to getting into the ProjectMoon universe.

The best way is always playing the game with a friend helping you avoid nasty abnos. But I guess even without nasty abnos this game can still be unfair... The wiki has a bunch of errors with no one fixing them. But the abno entries are reliable enough. The SA LP is.............it's a good cake with a few needles in it, I guess. It's still a good cake, but I can not swallow it full-heartily.
