I don't generally like these kinds of articles because I think they tend to use flowery words that aren't necessary to actually frame us into thinking the way they want compared to what is actually happening.

I will also risk my limbs here when I say that I disagree with how they say Kiramune is "looking for a glamorous and sparkling worldview, rather than high levels of singing or dancing". While it's true Kuwazono-san did not scout the most professional singer/seiyuu in the 2010s, I do feel like they don't really give Kiramune enough credit to launch Miyu's career and most importantly they actually give him enough room to grow into the singer that he is right now. I can write another long ass paragraph on why I think that producer is incorrect but I'll leave it at that.

They at least acknowledge that Miyu is on the same level as the big household names (Mamo, Nana-sama, Shoutan).

On May 20th, voice actor Irino Miyu announced that he would be resuming his activities as an artist. He will be moving to Nippon Columbia and release the single "Who I Am" on July 30th.

Irino is known for his roles as Haku in the Ghibli film "Spirited Away" (2001) and Todomatsu Matsuno in the popular anime series "Osomatsu-san" (TV Tokyo). Last year, he also attracted attention when he took over the role of Sabo in "One Piece" (Fuji TV) from Toru Furuya, who left the show after an adultery scandal.

"Irino, who started out as a child actor, is a talented actor who is highly regarded for his acting, and in addition to his voice acting career, he has been active as a solo artist since 2009, affiliated to the music label 'Kiramune' for male voice actors. With his overwhelming singing ability, he has released six singles, seven mini-albums, and four full albums, and also numerous songs under his character name" (voice actor writer Teshigawara Minami)

However, in December 2023, Irino announced: "I will end my solo artist activities with Kiramune on June 30, 2024". The label explained on its official website, "After numerous discussions with Irino since last year, we came to the conclusion to end his solo activities with Kiramune at the milestone of his 15th anniversary since his debut." His singing voice has been "sealed" after his live tour "IRINO MIYU LIVE 2024 'SUGOI MUSIC'", which began on June 4, 2024 and took place at four venues in three cities: Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka.

On May 20th of this year, about 11 months later, it was revealed that Irino would be restarting his music career with Nippon Columbia. He will release his first single in the label, "Who I Am," on July 30th, and will hold his first-ever talk event, "Irino Miyu Talk & Mini Live 2025 Summer," at Nissho Hall in Tokyo on August 10th.

Upon making the announcement, Irino commented, "The day has finally come to make the announcement. It's a restart! 33 years in the entertainment industry. Have I already reached my limits? No, no, I still have a long way to go. I will believe in my own potential and keep moving forward, while deceiving myself. There are so many things I want to do. I am very much looking forward to the people and works I will 'meet' from now on." Fans online have also congratulated him, saying, "Congratulations on the release of your first single since the transfer!" and expressed their joy, saying, "We've been waiting for your restart!" and "Thank you for giving us so much fun with the CD and events."

Irino Miyu's move to Nippon Columbia is a "advancement"! His skills are "top-level among voice actors"

A production company insider analyzed Irino's label transfer as follows:

"In the sense that he is moving away from the so-called 'voice actor singing' and shifting the focus of his activities to that of a regular artist, this transfer can be considered a 'advancement.' Kiramune was jointly launched in 2009 by the former Bandai Visual (now Bandai Namco Filmworks) and Bandai Namco Music Live's record label Lantis, and Irino was the second voice actor to join at the time. The label has been holding festivals for artists on the label almost every year since then, aiming to be a 'voice actor version of the (former) Johnny's Concert.' On stage, however, they look for a glamorous and sparkling worldview, rather than high levels of singing or dancing. Irino, who is highly professional, had skills far beyond those of other voice actors, so perhaps he wanted to aim higher as an artist."

On that note, it seems that currently, the label that is most suitable for voice actors to carry out their artistic activities with a professional attitude is King Records' anime and voice actor division, King Amusement Creative (hereafter referred to as Kinkuri).

"There are many voice actors with singing and performance skills, such as Mizuki Nana, Miyano Mamoru, Aoi Shouta, veteran Hayashibara Megumi, and young Minase Inori, and there is a format for managing them as artists. Nippon Columbia also has voice actors who are artists, such as Yuki Aoi and Uchida Aya, but the label is considered less strong than Kinkuri. However, Irino's singing and performance skills are at the top level among voice actors, so the challenge lies in how Nippon Columbia will nurture him."

Irino has taken a new step. It will be interesting to watch his future activities as an artist in addition to his main job.

The single will feature three songs, and the limited edition will include a radio talk CD, one photo card (random from available 3 variants), slip case, and what apparently is a cellphone sticker (携帯ステッカー).

I would definitely consider 2016 as one of Kiramune's, if not the, best year(s). All releases from that period were solid and the fact that they managed to fill Saitama Super Arena (37k seats) before scaling back to YokoAri (17k seats) in recent years did say a lot about their popularity.

I would encourage anyone who is reading this to go to a concert at least once if able! My personal experience with Kirafes was while it was very wonderful, not knowing songs from other members did slightly detract from the entire experience because the entire point of going to concerts is to sing along to the songs in a live setting. I would say go Kirafes if you are invested in more than 2 members, but if not, I would say you'd be better off attending solo lives - or if you live to see the MC between the members, then Kirafes is a good option.

I honestly wasn't expecting him to release another one which he stated on the Zynchro insta "Isn't Monday the saddest day after KiraFes? I wonder if we can give everyone a present on Monday too!?" (i love this man so much he's so kind 😭) Anyway, I think yall should go check them out on whatever music app you have! I will discuss them when I get the chance! In my opinion, MAE is my favorite out of all of them!

That "Isn't Monday the saddest day after Kirafes" was so true. I still remembered how I felt the Monday after Kirafes 2016 and I was absolutely miserable. My whole body was aching, and that empty feeling after going all out the day before was just too much to the point I actually did not go anywhere on that Monday and just laid down in bed I couldn't go anywhere to eat though my stomach demanded to be filled ww

My favourite from the 3 releases is フリックラッカー, but the three of them are absolutely glorious. I wonder if these songs will be included in his full album this year.
