Final reflection
Mostly this semester was full of changes in my life, I started university, I met a lot of people, I had new subjects, but every change was for good and this class wasn’t the exception because definitely Sara was the best english teacher. I enjoyed practicing not only one area, it is better when we practice writing, reading and listening all along the semester not only focusing on one area. I think I need more real life situations where I can practice the language to improve, at the beggining of the semester I met a boy who was chinese and he didn’t speak too much spanish so I needed to speak in English to be abe to communicate with him and at that moment I knew I was ready to make a real conversation using only this language. I think the best way to improve is by using the language as if I was a native speaker but maybe I need to travel to another country for that.

Section C -Second Period Personal Reflection
During the second period of the class I felt much more comfortable with the way the teacher evaluates us, the quizzes, the activities, and the wonderful Tec points. The first period was more difficult because this class is also one of my first classes at university so I was a little bit nervous about what it would be but now that I know how the class works, I am more confident. I think some exercises we did along the period were interesting and useful to understand better some topics and practice our English skills. I would like to practice even more my speaking skills, although we practice with the discussions we make in the class or with the participations for the Tec points, I think we could practice with a presentation in front of the class or something like that. In general, I like the class and the activities are cool. :)

Section A- Written assignement
Stories about people from different parts of the United States.
1. Connecting with People in Orange Mound, Tennessee https://museumonmainstreet.org/content/connecting-people-orange-mound-tennessee
A woman who lives in Orange Mound Tennessee, enjoys living there because it is a small town where you can pretend that you have a big family because it is impossible not to see your neighbors and recognize them every single day. The woman claims that living in a small community is the perfect opportunity to meet almost everyone in the village and learn how to establish a good relationship with your neighbors. She also learned a lot of different things like respecting other people’s personal problems. She also recommends to everyone the experience of living in a small community.
2. The Pollution of Our Waterways in Central Illinois https://museumonmainstreet.org/content/pollution-our-waterways-central-illinois
People have contaminated waterways in Central Illinois since a very long time. People in the community take clean water for granted and they do not care about water contamination, even though they use water from the waterways nearby them. Although some scientists have tried to make a change to restore the rivers, people in the community have not helped with their part and they continue contaminating the water. If they do not start helping with minor changes, there may not be clean water for the future generations.
3. Soccer in Cozad, Nebraska: A Teen's Perspective https://museumonmainstreet.org/content/soccer-cozad-nebraska-teens-perspective
This story talked about a soccer team which played the final match a day they did not expect to play. They were not told that the match will be played that day and as a consequence they were not ready in that moment sothey put their clothes as fast as they could and started playing the game, even though they have not talked about the strategy for the game. After the match started, the other team scored and they felt devastated but they kept playing although they were not focused on winning the game. The match was over but the team felt with the spirit to look for the next year’s championship.

Section C- Reflection
We studied a lot of different things this first period and we do not get bored by listening the teacher’s explanation because we realized activities instead. In this class we did different interesting activities where we practiced our reading, listening and writing skills. I enjoyed practicing not only one area, it is better when we practice the 3 areas all along the semester not only focusing on one area. All the topics that we have seen so far I had studied them at high school, but for some reason in the exams I get confused or nervouse and I made some mistakes. I will study harder for my exams because it seems that test’s scores are the most important part for your grades at university.

Reflection:
Although I enjoyed recording and editing the video, I suffered a little because I was nervous when speaking in front f the camera so I made a lot of different mistakes. I think I prefer public speaking than speaking in front of a camera, I think I would do it better.

About me
My name is Marco Antonio but I prefer to be called Toño because since I was a child everybody called me like this. All my life I have lived in Cuautitlán Izcalli, although it is not the best place to live, I enjoy living here. Since I was 8 years old I play tenis, yeah, 10 years playing it because right now I am 18. This sport has become an important part of my life because I have spent lot of time playing, training and having fun with it, and right now I am making a big effort in order to get in the representative school team. Also one of my favorite hobbies is playing videogames, I play all kind of videogames but I prefer shooters or open world videogames.
